Unsure How To Write In Message Box Functions For A Pop Up Window?

I am unsure how to write in message box functions for a pop up window. I need OK and Cancel buttons to display with my message box. The Ok button needs to close the message box and the Cancel button to close the entire program. Here is what I have so far

I have a program and the program works fine. The only thing is that I want to shorten it up and stop using the same code over and over. I use the same redudant code through out the code. iam currently working on my uni project and i have encountered a problem with valadation section.My system displays a message telling the user to input any fields that they have missed out on, listing the name of the field. However as these IF functions are in order the user must input the data in the order of how it is in the code. for example if the "consweight" is inputed and the calculate button is pressed, it thinks that all valadation above it has occured, when those fields are still empty.

need to know exactly how does the API functions Read/Whrite Process works. I'm so confused while working. I know that I have to work using something like sectors. But I don't know how. Can someone give me an example. I dont know hoe to do it. for an example, for you to give me. What is the best way to write functions in Microsoft.NET (VB) to avoid memory leaks. I have always followed this style:

Here the connection reference is created before the TRY clause and is initialised after the TRY clause. I believe the connection is always closed and dereferenced even if an exception is thrown. Is this good practice? I see a lot of code that creates references and dereferences in the TRY clause, but this would mean that the memory is not correctly handled if an exception is thrown. Some developers say they don't like to clean up in the finally clause.

is it ever possible to write locking-features(for threading) with the language itself (this question is purely academic, I know no one will ever do it even if its possible (not me))?

What I am trying to do is have a class where the functions of the same name are both instance functions and shared functions.
Public Shared Function Get...(byval xx as xx)
and
Public Function Get...
The Public Function uses a Property xx created in the constructor, whereas the Shared Function has the parameters (byval xx as xx).

I have an Vb.net application made by a third party , that I need to control using outside resources from a simulated environment and must not interact with the desktop. To simulate inputs that a user would normally input from a special screen with specific keys around it, I've built a test control library to control it and send the form image to a .bmp. The form cannot be visible and showed in taskbar , the bmp output will be displayed by the simulated environment.Using PostMessage and sendKeys work well as long as I don't but ShowInTaskbar = False for the main form. After many read & testing, I have learned enough to try what seems to be the only thing that would work. I've created a form that I setparent using HWND_MESSAGE parameter, this should create a Message-Only Windows, that are supposed to received postMessage, and subclass it's events.msdn.
I can't seem to get it to work, and I was hoping someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong.I have been testing several different ways found through out the web about .net , and short of going into message thread peek and feed(maybe(may be)my last hope), they all seem to work until I take the forms out of the taskbar.[code]

I have an application with a SplashScreen. While loading the application, the application will check certain conditions and if the condition fails it throws a message window. I problem is when the message window is thrown it is displayed just behind the splashscreen and user is not able to see the message and unable to understand whats happening while the SplashScreen is displayed as it is till he clicks ok on the message box.

I am looking to make a SMTP (Port 25) listener to listen in and accept incoming mail, look at the message source, make changes if needed, and retransmit the message out another port. This iwll make it act like a sort-of intermediary service.how one would write a port listener in VB.net, that could listen in on the port, and display the message in a text box (the whole source, headers and all, since that's what the mail comes in as anyway).

I am using Visual Studio 2010 Professional in trial mode... and suddenly the Output window won't show my Debug.Write() stuff. It had been showing it for the past month.I have been using the 2010 version for 30 days (after upgrading from Visual Studio 2003) in trial mode. I just renewed the trial for the extra 60 days, and the "About Visual Studio" window says I still have 59 days left.
I have verified that the application is running properly, without errors. When I purposely generate an error, the Output Window properly shows the error and the stack trace I've already checked my Build>Configuration... it's in "Debug" mode, not "Release". The Debug.Write() text is not going to the Immediate window, either.One other point, I tried running the same application in the Visual Studio 2010 Express Edition, and it complained that it could not debug the specified code, though it did properly build it so that it would run in the build. Could Visual Studio 2010 Express have modified something in my project files to disable the debugging output?
