iam currently working on my uni project and i have encountered a problem with valadation section.My system displays a message telling the user to input any fields that they have missed out on, listing the name of the field. However as these IF functions are in order the user must input the data in the order of how it is in the code. for example if the "consweight" is inputed and the calculate button is pressed, it thinks that all valadation above it has occured, when those fields are still empty.

The Public Function uses a Property xx created in the constructor, whereas the Shared Function has the parameters (byval xx as xx).
get the whole and same content of any file i uploaded, for my editing purposes in my editor w/c retrieves file from the database. i.e of files are ".doc and .txt"and by the way what i meant by same content is the whole same appearance of my .doc or .txt file i.e "if the text is bold, forecolor is red and etc.."
i successfully established a file upload and a function to store it in a database... but what i'm missing is the whole and same content of the file. The address I need to read is a java servlet that processes parameters passed in, generates a text document on the server, and then redirects to another URL and returns the address of the text file on the server. I then need to download that text file and process it. I'm having problems connecting to the first URL with the parameters and I think it has to do with the redirect.
I'm using the WebRequest object and I've tried using the HttpWebRequest object. Are there any other objects that support redirects?

View 1 RepliesI'm sending TCP messages (numeric and/or text data) of various length; Approx: Each 200ms a <50 character message, and rarely a 50,000-500,000 character message. I'm trying to find a way to handle these variable length messages, and been advised to have a fixed field at the start of each message that gives the length. So I set a 7-character string that will hold this integer value. A message may then look like this:
0000015DATA|490
Now, I'm still a bit unsure how to finalize this. In any case I guess I need to set an initial buffer size, which in example below is set to 1024. So what if the message is longer than this? Would I need to save the current message parts until the full length has bee received, and keep track of how many characters is left etc? I made an attempt of that in code below. It doesn't give correct result yet, but still;

I'm making a simple decoder. Type a message in the "message" text box and it spits out a code in the "code" text box. If you pop a code into the "code" text box it spits out the message in the "message" text box. Seems simple, right? Well here's my problem. I typed "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" to test it and it will put a lowercase "f" at the beginning, put letters that aren't supposed to be in there in there, and replace what should be upper case letters with lower case. I commented out the code for replacing symbols because it seemed to work fine before I put them in the code but still the same result. I checked over the code to see if I mixed stuff up. Like I accidentally put the replacement for a lower case "e" as the replacement for a lower case "h" but I can't find anything.
