I am trying to figure out how to add a theme to my excel worksheet before saving it. I have found this code to change the cell color but have yet to find anything to change to a pre-default excel table format (the Table style light 2 theme)

I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.

The Add-In when installed shows an error on clicking the short cuts. It says the specific macro cannot be found.The code under the Sub EnableShortCut() works well when it is in an excel vba module. The same won't work when it is added to an Excel Add-In created with Visual Studio.

i have create a software for my college which is document management. well am doing good so far up to now where i need to upgrade my database what i mean ?
in case i need to make any changes to my database i don't want to enter the database and create new table or add new fields to existing table to my current database,i would like to do that throught visual studio 2010 programaticaly. something like an additional application where i will choose my database path and the application will upgrade the database with new tables or new fields .
i would like also to ask, in order to create database,or if you already have the database and you like to just open the connection to it programaticaly and add new field ,or relate some table ,you have to work with different librarys? Like ADOX,DAO etc ? and other.?

The idea is that I have certain values stored in textboxes/listboxes and thus can I store the information in a spread sheet. And if I change the value in the spreadsheet can it also change the value in the application? I had one idea which was to make both store data in a txt file and read from that, but I'm not quite sure how to do that either.

I have been using SSCE database, but for that user has to download and install SSCE, which many of my users do not want. If I use Access, the security issue is very very serious.I have downloaded a few database apps from the internet, which donot require any such thing to be installed and also I see no known database format in the application folder. View 2 RepliesI'm looking to call an excel macro (excel version 07) within a separate visual studio application (visual studio express 2010). Basically, a user clicks a browse dialog button to select a xls or xlsm file which is then added to a listbox. Next, I would like the macro to run when another button is clicked. The macro looks at the first column in excel and moves the listed .tif images from one folder to another. I referenced the excel libraries, but seem to be getting hung up on a few code statements (''''ERROR see code below). I would like to run the macro within visual studio for any selected excel file or add the macro somehow to the selected excel file and run it.

I have attached the excel file screen shot if that can help in any way...So basically When i click on the button in VB than it should show me the excel chart. My code just shows me the column "A" which shows me the "data" column only from the excel file.

View 3 RepliesI have a table called MEMBER with fields for mem_id, mem_name, mem_addr, mem_city,mem_state, mem_zip and another table called STATE with state_id, state_addr, state_name in Access 2007.On the Visual Studio 2008 form, there is a combo box for the state. The goal here is to display the state abbreviations, but use the state_id value for the mem_state (there is a foreign key between those two fields).The mem_state is defined as number, the state_id is autonumber. Under the mem_state definition in Access, I used the lookup wizard (on the database that is in the bin/debug folder) to set the following properties:
