I follow the rest of the steps and encounter an error when i try to compile the Person.vb file using the line vbc Person.vb/t:library/out:HelloWorldLib.dll as i am getting the following errors:

Aug 12, 2010All my users can click on an image button accept one.When she hovers over the imagee it does not provide info on the status bar as if it doesn't even recognize there is a image button there.ALL the other users roll over it and the info comes up on the status bar and they can click the button and it works.What should I be looking for that one user can not access this button.There is not code specific that locks her out and the ahref links on her page work but not the image button.

Oct 5, 2011I am still having some issues with the issue I posted last time regardin formview not updating correctly.I have managed to narraow the problem to one sub below:My issue appears to be on this line: tbl.Rows.AddAt(tbl.Rows.Count 1, row)Anytime I attempt to update a row, only the first row gets updated. Subsequent rows don't get updated. Instead, when I click "Update", the cursor moves down to the next record without updating it.When I commented out this tbl.Rows.AddAt(tbl.Rows.Count - 1, row), I can now update each and every row. After updating the row, an email goes out to the individual advising him/her about the update s/he just made. The problem is that email is getting sent to the wrong person and that's because of that one line that I just commented out.

Usable By A Person Or Company, That Uses Databases And .NET?
Aug 11, 2009Okay, so, for school i have a project i need to completely program by the end of next semester. My graduation project. And it needs to be a full-blown piece of software that would be theoreticly usable for a person or company.assignment was simple:make an application, usable by a person or company, that uses databases and VB.NET
so i started brainstorming and i came up with the following:a client-server application where the server runs on the company's mainframe and it's employees (seeing as it would be an IT company or another company that would use a lot of computer files) can upload to, and download files from, where each file would have a description and additional information (extension, date,emplyees would also be able to exchange private messages so that collegues of the uploader can be notifies that the file they would need is uploaded.
in addition to that there would be an administrator (or multiple) that can overview all PM's (make sure there's no abuse of the system) and administrate the files (delete/edit/...)So really, i have no idea where to begin building this application, so i would think that if i get the interface done, i atleast have an overview of what and how i would need to code.
note: wow now i think about it this seriously sounds more like a website than an application... but still it sounds like a good idea to me and has to be done or else i would not graduate

I could easily do "mm.From= email@domain.com"...but for this project it needs to be sent automatically depending on which user is entering the information. So I have lets say a group of 10 users, anytime a specific user sends in an update on a project form, the email is sent to the manager from the person who it's been updated from. Any suggestion? They all have specific ID's. How would I code it to where I could get the program to find them by their ID and then get their email address from their ID?

I am currently working on an assignment called "Douglas Resort Reservation" and we are supposed to select a query from the combo box Guest Search. For example, when I select Barb Allen, I get the info to display properly, which is good. But, I still have a problem.
When I try to click my button 'Prepare Invoice', I want Barb Allen's info to be displayed in my listbox 'Invoice'. But, now I don't have that complete. I have a whole list of items generated when I load my whole thing from my Form Load event from the textfile RESORT.TXT. I get a whole list of items instead of individualized items.
My question for you is: "How can I get just ONE name and person's information to show up?" when I press the button 'Prepare Invoice'.[code]...

When I try to click my button 'Prepare Invoice', I want Barb Allen's info to be displayed in my listbox 'Invoice'. But, now I don't have that complete. I have a whole list of items generated when I load my whole thing from my Form Load event from the textfile RESORT.TXT. I get a whole list of items instead of individualized items.

Sep 12, 2009i have to send emails when a person recieves a personal message on my website and for that i use a StringBuilder to create the HTML markup of the email.also since it is required at many other places as well i have made a Shared Fucntion (i am using VB.NET). now my only concern is that since shared functions are shared among all objects and maybe asp.net sessions, can it be possible that before one person email is being formed and another person access the same function, it would cause the data in the stringbuilder to be overwritten. currently my site doesn't have many users but can this become an issue in the future...please advise me on this...is there any better way or standard procedure to follow when using shared functions.also at one time i made the mistake of using a shared connection object and it would cause close if many people were to access it
