I just finished reading Hour 3 in Sams Teach Yourself Visual Basic 2010 and I got a little stuck. url....Is the section I'm on, on exercise 1. I have the form set up with 1 button and 2 textboxes, but I'm not sure how I could make it so when you click the button it sends the text from the first text box to the second text box.

View 15 RepliesI dynamically create buttons on a form and use the button text as ids so that I can pass that to an SQL query to pull saved data about that button when necessary, but I also use an image over buttons that have information saved about them. What I need to know is how do I keep the text on the button from appearing when there is an image assigned to that button? By default vb.net shows both the text and the image and no TextImageRelation values allow for the image to take precedence. I tried changing the text color to transparent, but the outline of the text is still visible through the image. Is there anyway to keep the text value as it is but just show the image on the button?

I'm a noob to the .net world and I was wondering how I would go about creating a rich text box by triggering a click event button. I am trying to shrink the data currently in my form. One way of doing this would be to take away the two rich text boxes I have drag/dropped into the form and just adding a button. When the button is clicked, a rich text box will pop up.

I came across these lines which are very simple.I had one textbox and wanted to show The result is x when i click the button. so, here is the part of the program.

Because I write on paper in pseudo, "The result is", x would be correct and would show The result is x but instead, VB finds error. Does , indicate space here or does it recognise it as something else?

The aim of the application is to change sln. files from VS2005/2008 versions into VS2010.I am using a Form with 2 text boxes and 2 buttons. When I click the 1st button it reveals the sln file in the text box. Then i have a 'convert' button that I want to use to 'convert' the file that appears in the first text box. I have come quite far with the source code but am just a bit puzzled as to how i can retrieve the VS2005 sln files and to get the 'convert' button to display the text in the 2nd text box.[code]

I have a groupbox with 4 radio buttons inside that are intended to change the font color of the text. Coincidentally, I have to repeat this same functionality for a 2nd set of radio buttons that would change the text font family.
At any rate what I've only been able to do is the following to successfully change the font color of whatever text I highlight in the rich text box:

Is there a way that I could write a sub (I'm assuming I would use a sub, since I don't think I need to return anything, thus eliminating the use of a function) that would handle the action of changing the selected text color in the rich text box without having to use a separate sub for each radio button? Mind you, per my teacher's specs, she doesn't use a button handler for any of this.
