I need to click a radio button for Metric and have "mm" appear on my form beside a box where the user will enter numbers. I have 3 radio buttons, American "in", Metric "mm" and Decimal "dec". I want the "in" or "mm" or "dec" to appear as text on the form beside the boxes where the user will put in the numbers.
View 1 Repliesi have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.

I know how to assign and save the values on the DDBB using DDL, but when I want to show the values using labels, I get the first value always, this is becuase the select command is configures in that way. If I use ddl instead label, it works, but I do not want to show the value using ddl. I want to use label to show the values, and ddl to modify or add new data into the DDBB.[code] As you can see the level1 uses label, and level2 uses ddl, it was the only way to get the value for level2, otherwise if I use label on level2 it display level1 value instead.I would like to know if there is any way to assign different value using anything but ddl.

For instance, I have a form that displays information that needs to be inputed to a database, based on what test is being done for a specific product. Each product requires different tests. So each product may or may not have the same information that needs to be inputed..
What I have done is made a database and filled a table with each product and what tests apply. I then call that database after the product has been selected for the tests. It will then fill an array for that products information for what texts boxes and labels need to be shown. I wanna take this further and have it create a form through code and align all the controls to specific spots so that it will look nice. For example I wouldn't wanna create a control and have it be cut out of the form, or have other controls overlapping others.

User will use a button1.click to open a filedialog to locate the file they needed. after which, the name of the file will appear on a textbox. Button2 is an OK button to write the filename into a txt file. I seem to be having trouble getting group boxes to appear when I click a radio button.
For example:
If radiobutton1.Checked Then
Groupbox1.Visible = True
Groupbox2.Visible = False
Groupbox3.Visible = False
Groupbox4.Visible = False
End If
This indeed brings up the first radio button however I have other groupboxes underneath which with the same code will not appear when the radio button is checked.
Eg:
If radiobutton2.Checked Then
Groupbox2.Visible = True
Groupbox1.Visible = False
Groupbox3.Visible = False
Groupbox4.Visible = False
End If
The second groupbox does not appear and is directly behind the first groupbox.
The .Top code doesn't seem to be working either.
I have a windows form application built with Visual Studio 2008. When a use clicks a command button which does some action, I use SelectNextControl to automatically move to the next control in the tab order once the action is completed.
This seems to work very well, however, I have recently discovered that if the next control in the tab order is a radio button, the call to SelectNextControl does not simply make the radio button the active control... it also causes the click event to fire. When I use the tab key to move past the command button (rather than clicking on it which will result in a call to SelectNextControl), the radio button gets focus as expected and the click event is not raised (as expected). I don't know if this is a bug in selectnextcontrol or the radio button control.
Has anyone else seen/solved this problem? Another forum post discussed a problem where the radio button was automatically checked when a form was first displayed and the radio button was the first control on the form. Seems to be a very similar problem. That post was from 2008.
