Write A Program That Randomly Selects A Picture Of A Flag?

I am having to write a program that randomly selects a picture of a flag. Then the corresponding country needs to be selected and a message box letting them know if they have the right answer or not. I know this isn't near completion but I am stuck on assigning the pictures to the array. The problem I am getting is in the 5 lines like this "Flags(0,0) = My.Resources.USA". VB isn't liking the Flags(0,0) it is saying that a "declaration is expected." The other problem is in this line "PictureBox = Flags(0, x)" the error is "Value of type 'String' cannot be converted to 'System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox'".

with a college assignment. We are to make a program for a school class. It is on Flags of Europe. A Picture Viewer should show a flag and the students must type what the flag is in a text box. If it is correct it must say so in a label and display the next flag. I want it to add the correct answers the student got out of 10 flags.

How to make the picturebox appear randomly? And, when i click on them when it's is appeared, the score will +1? this is Whack-a-Mole, sorry that i don't know what this game's name. Can you tell me how to make the picturebox appear randomly and disappear after a short moment(0.5 sec something). And the game total time i would like to have about 1 minute.

Anyway, I'm a teacher and am writing a program that simply shows kids a word on a flashcard. There are 2 buttons, 1 to read the word and 1 to go to a new work. There are going to be 300 words. Really I'm just testing it right here. What I want to know is should I be inputting all the words right into the code like I did with "hi" and "not 1" (Don't ask. those are just the 2 random words I picked to test this out with). OR is there a better way (maybe somehow to type all the words on a text file and have the program randomly pull one of them (I don't know how to do this).

It's probably the most basic of things, but all I can find is how to launch a program, and not with the interactions I desire. Any tips as to the terms to use to search for answers, or links to topics regarding questions similar to mine, would be very appreciated. I have a wealth of info to read through, but I could use your knowledge to save myself time.Here is what I am trying to do:
Use a Button (A) to Launch a Prompt where User Selects Directory Path to an executable Program. The Selection is to be Persistent after the initial selection (saved in a settings file i assume?), and the Selected Path (or just "programname.exe") is to be Displayed in a Text Field (B). I am not recieving any errors, but the program is not doing what I had expected. I wish to make a program that randomly takes characters (well, not completely randomly. I used the table of letter frequency from wikipedia and included that data in my program by figuring out the max for the random numbers from the percentages in the wikipedia chart.) and adds them to a long list of characters ands saves the file every 5 minutes. I have calculated the timer interval so that the number of miliseconds shown is equal to 5 minutes. I am getting the textwindow, and it is showing (rather rapidly, as I need it to be) a long random list of characters (including spaces). The problems are (A) I am having difficulty saving the text as a file. You'll find the code that is supposed to do that at the bottom. The other problem I am having is once so many characters are added, the ones at the top start disappearing. I would scroll to the top, and each time I did so the letters at the top had changed (this is all during the same test), but I need all characters to be stored when the file saves. Granted, I haven't actually seen one of the saved files as I have not figured out how to make that work. One other thing, not sure if it's important, I haven't run a published version yet. I've only been running the debug builds. Does that affect how it handles actions with files?

I am currently working on a family project which is based on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" show. There is a huge diffrence between the show and my project. My project is a christmas edition and the goal is not to get money or something, since I will not add it... Erhmm... Let me get to the point. I have already designed a layout and scripted some things. I have about thirty questions but I do not want them to always spawn in the same array, if you know what I mean. I want the program to randomly choose one of those thirty questions and NEVER choose the same question in the same program run. By the way, there are four options on my project: A, B, C and D. I have got everything, I just need a code.

This works perfectly, but as you can see there is no randomization, it just runs through each line. I want one out of every three lines to be chosen. My text file, on each line, has question tab answer tab answer tab answer tab answer tab correct answer. So for the first inputted question i want it to chose one of the first three lines, second question chose a line between line 4,5 and 6. etc.

I have an OpenFileDialog. I want the program to copy the file that the user selects to my "temp" folder. If the user doesn't select any file, then it doesn't copy any thing. Here is my code:

Basically, I'm not sure if I'm thinking along the correct lines when trying to break this down. The program is supposed to display the question "How much is _ x _?" with _ being a randomly generated number between 0-9 which I have in a label. The student inputs the answer and clicks the "Answer" button. If he gets it right, the label below outputs "Very Good!" and automatically puts a new question in the above label. If the student gets it incorrect, the output is "No, Please try again." and the student keeps trying until the question is answered correctly.
My method of thinking on this is that the random.object generator is input first so the question with the numbers are output in the first label. Then, under the Sub answer.button, enter the statements that will either check and refer to the above statements to get a new question or have the student try again until it's answered correctly. One of the other criteria for this is that I have to use a function for the calculation. Would the function statement, because it has to return a value, go before the answer.button code or after?

I have just about completed a .NET project to write a program to randomly select numbers for a Bingo caller. Over the last month or so Ive learned a lot about .NET but heres something that I consider to be odd and maybe one of you guys can offer an opinion.
One of the features of calling Bingo in a small local club is that callers often use little sayings to accompany certain numbers, I expect youve all heard of (say) All the sixes, clickety click for 66 or 5 and 9 the Brighton line for 59 etc. My little program gives an option to incorporate these with a prompt for the caller that can be edited outside of the program. One of these conventional sayings is used when a number is reversed 12 followed by 21 or 45 followed by 54 for example, when the caller might call (say) 1 and 2, one dozen, number 12 And the other way round 2 and 1, twenty one.
So, I programmed in a bit of code to detect this and to over-ride whatever might otherwise have been the quote with And the other way round and set about testing it. Ive been through literally dozens of full 90 calls watching for the occurrence of a reversed number, spent a few hours doing it, and not once has it occurred which is to say the least, unusual.
So, Im wondering about the Rand Function, could it be that it isnt possible for a reversed number to be selected? Just so you know, I randomly pre-select the order of all 90 numbers, I fill each of the 90 elements of an array with a random number first checking that the number selected hasnt already been stored, if it has, I just get the next random number (and check that too of course), but I cant see how that could prevent reversed numbers being selected, especially in light of the fact that frequently it's not the 'next' number that's used.

i have to write a program for my VB class that consists of a resistance checker program. I've searched like a madman to help me through this and I have found nothing >. The program consists of 2 combo boxes, the first one is the nominal resistance drop down list of the numbers :100, 150, 220, 330, 470, 680, 820 and 1000. The second list is of the tolerance numbers; +/- 0.4%, +/-0.6% and +/-0.8%. Now what i want to do is select a number from the first combo box and select the tolerance level of the second combo box and i input the resistor of said value into the text box. when i click the check resistor button it should display a message saying if the resistor is in or out of tolerance. For now I have the form all laid out and the values inputted into both combo boxes and i can go to run the program i am able to select said values. Now my problem is trying to get the right code so that i can check the resistors value.

I'm using LuaInterface for .NET to create Windows Forms objects. This works pretty good except for one thing:I want to use the Anchor property of Control to make them resize automatically. If I only set one of the Anchors (e.g. only AnchorStyles.Top), it works, but this doesn't really make sense. I have to set more than one Anchor, which is done by combining them with "bit-wise or" (or by just adding them numerically).
In VB.Net both works:

which is in a sense correct as "LuaInterface treats enumeration values as fields of the corresponding enumeration typ" (says LuaInterface: Scripting the .NET CLR with Lua).It is also not possible to assign the value as a number:
myLabel.Anchor = 15 -- 15 = 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 = Top+Left+Right+Bottom
This time, the error message is rather unspecific:

Is there a possibility to typecast the number to the correct enumeration type in Lua?
