I've written a for loop to generate several new text boxes and numericUpDowns when the application is run.
The text boxes / numericUpDowns are generated with a 2-dimensional array. My question is: How do I handle when the text boxes / numericUpDowns are modified?
If you would like the code, just request it and I'll add it here.
I have a CSV file with many rows in which I need to update/replace column four's value using VB.NET. There are no headers on the columns so the loop can start on row one.
infile.csv "value1","value2","value3","value4"
After much googling, there are lots of examples on how to read and write CSV files, but none quite what is needed. I know there are multiple ways to accomplish this task, but a requirement is that it's done with VB.NET.tFinal code ported from Marco's C# answerPrivate Sub CSVmod(ByVal strFileName As String, ByVal newFileName As String)
Dim strLines As String() = File.ReadAllLines(strFileName) Dim strList As New List(Of String) Dim strReplace As String = "test"
I am currently working on an application which requires reading, writing and modifying data from a TEXT file. I have searched a lot but was not able to find a simple way to achieve this. I have to use a standard VB form with textboxes for this text file operations.
I want to modify the third column of an existing excel file. The problem with below code is a new file is prduced with the new values in Column C and erases all other values in the orginal file. I want to update the orginal file with the new values.
Public oExcel As Excel.Application Public oBook As Excel.Workbook Public oSheet As Excel.Worksheet
I have a gridview with 3 columns, only one column is going to be edited by the user. Whenever it is edited I'd like to set one of the other columns to the current time. A "time last updated" if you will.
I want to build a console app, that when ran, takes a report from one Access 2000 database and copies it over to another Access 2000 database and overwrites the existing report in the destination database. I cannot figure out how to do this in code. I have imported the Access 9.0 Object library, but still struggling.
I'm using XP and access 2003 and visual studio 2005. I created a project and connect this project with database access file. and I created some textboxes and command button on the form. Is possible to modify and add a new record to the database without using the navigation toolbar by insert a code in the command button.
I want to programmatically change ACL for all the subdirectories into a containing one. Specially when ACL of a particolar user is found I want to duplicate that ACL, change the security identifier and add the rule.
I have a really modular application in which modules interact with each other for many, many tasks. Lately I have been making some changes to fix some bugs and some processes are now taking longer (not making the application unusable though).I now want to log the times it takes to perform each action, also taking into account interactions with other objects, to identify where is it taking long. This logging code would most likely be temporary. So, the question is: How can I write all these actions's latencies (or timeStarted and TimeEnded perhaps) to a single file from all the objects?
VB GridView control will not allow code in the vb code file to access a data column that has its visible property set to false. When it is set to true, the data column can be accessed with no problem. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? I have looked through the documentation, text books, and I have not found anything that gave me any clue as to what the problem could be. I thought that the property was just applied to the column, not that it would remove the column from being accessible.
Is it possible to set a variable in my custom class for Private Read/Write access and Public Readonly access without creating Properties with Get and Set? In other words, from within my class I want full access and from my form I only want read access. Right now I declare my variable as either Private or Public to control Public read/write access. I tried googling my question a bit but I'm not sure what the correct terms even ar
I am using the code shown below to compare two Access databases with two fields each and write the results to a third Access database. I am getting an error at the "Do While DMReader02.Read = True" line: "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." Why would the reader be closed at this point if I am using different DataReaders in the two loops?
I have a gridview that is bound to a datasource on a Windows Form (VB.NET). The grid displays a list of "certifications", and each "certification" can be associated with many languages. So in the grid, I'd like to display "languages" as a column, and display a comma delimited list of the language names for each "certification".
In the "certification" class, one of the properties is a list of "language" objects, and each "language" has an ID (guid), name (string), and value (integer).
So in the datasource, I have the list of "languages", but I can't figure out how to display them in a column on the grid. The gridview won't let me add the language list property as a column.
So is the ONLY way to add a new property on the "certification" class, which returns a string that contains the comma delimited list, and show THAT on the grid? Or is there a way to display that list of "languages"?
i load a page via WebBrowser.document class, I want to literally "click" elements in the DOM using VB.net programmatically. I dont want to use the classic WebRequest class.how can i do this ?
I have been automating MS Project with VB.Net. I can open .mpp files and access all the objects I need. Now the customer has asked to open these files from Project Server. I cannot get MS Project to Open with the server connection.
I'm trying to develop a program that turns matrices into their reduced Echlon forms. The user specifies the number of Columns & Rows for the matrix, which is generated by the following Sub Routine
Private Sub ButCreate_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ButCreate.Click 'Columns and Rows are specified by the user rows = TxtRows.Text columns = TxtColumns.Text 'clears all of the controls(text boxes) from the TableLayoutContainer [Code] ..... How to do is access/manipulate those newly created textBoxes. After the user enters values to those boxes, I want to assign each of their columns to an array.
I have an application which is grouped in a MainApplication and serveral Modules (DLL's) The Main Application is basicly a Form with a NavigationBar on the Left Side (like in Outlook 2003) and an MDI-Parent. There is also a Simple Login Routine on this Form. I store the UserName after Loggingn to a Property. The DLL's holds functionallity and Forms for various Sections for example there is a Employee.dll which holds functions and a form to show all Employees.
On Loading of the Main Application I loop trough all dll's in a "Module"-Folder and extract NavigationItems from them which I add to the MainForms NavigationPanel. I don't have a reference to the Modules because I want to make it as flexible as possible so that it is possible to delete a Dll form the Module directory in order to remove the functionality from the MainApplication. The Modules could work also without the MainApplication if they are Complied as an exe insted of DLL of course. This works fine so far.
I have an application in vb .net that I would like to have access to objects in a sharepoint site. Some of the things I would like to do from vb is create folders in my sharepoint site, have access to files that are on my sharepoint site. We have sharepoint servers at corporate so that is where my site resides.
I thought I postet this yesterday but I can't find my thread so if this is a duplicate please point me at the original one. Background: I need to create a user account and Modify it's registry before the user logs on the first time. Creating the account is done by using the Winnt provider (works great). To create the profile I'm trying to use Process.start to launch a process as the newly created user. With the use of loaduserprofile property the users profile gets created and i can do my regwrites without problem.
I opened vs 2008 and used the server explorer for the first time to create a connection to my SQL 2005 db. The solution explorer pulled in all the tables, the database diagram etc. My question is how do I access that database connection and work with it using ADO objects? Do I need a reference to ADO?
