Writing A UserControls That Display Different Database Tables In Textboxes?

I am writing a UserControls that display different database tables in textboxes. At present, I change which table the UC looks at by means of a Property that is in byte format and the Set part of the Property calls a subroutine to fix various functions.

When, say Line 2, is selected the value 2 is passed to the value in the UC.

Using Visual Basic 2008 express, I would like to access a database with 2 tables, one table (useraccounts) which has Users and Password and ID, and the other table which has information (linktable). Basically I would like to do a login form which reads from the table useraccounts and be able to create new users which will write into the database.
Another is that I have a form with a number of links which I would like to store in the table 'linktable' and it basically just gets the links from the table and straight to the form where it is used. I have tried using access or the .mdf files that visual basic has but I have been unable to find an answer for either.
I wouldn't mind using either access or the .mdf file for the database, I would just like it to work. Overall I am trying to get:
Login form which reads from database table 'useraccounts' and has a new user feature
Just a form that can read / write to the database once the save button is clicked.

Does any one know how to search a Database with TextBoxes and button and display it on a DataGridView.I've already got the Data to show in the DataGrid, but with 6000 rows now I want to Filter or search the view.

I have a dataset with 3 tables in it. Header, Detail and Customer.My form contains a Binding Navigator and I can click the "New" button, fill in the data and then when I press "Save" the data is written to my 3 tables BUT, the foreign key fields in the child tables contain NULL Values. The primary field in the Parent Table retains the correct data. So when I try to go back into the database the Parent record is displayed but no Child data because those records couldn't be linked in.
Once I am back in viewing the Parent record and then input data in those fields belonging to the child tables and press "SAVE" then the new records are saved just fine. It only seems to be when trying to create a new Parent record with Child records.

I am using VS2008 and SQLite. I have created a database and several tables and am attempting to populate the tables with data from arrays.
The following code (example) works fine but stops after it inserts 30 to 50 records. I am running the VB code in debug mode and when it stops, I press pause to see where it is. It stops on "SQLcommand.ExecuteNonQuery()" and when I press continue (F5) it will insert another 30 to 50 records.
I do not get an error message. Is this a timeout issue? How do I keep the loop running to the end of the array?

This time i have a RTB (look.text) that contains no more than 12 lines (it updates according to a listbox but it will never exceed 12 lines of text). The lines contain numbers like this:2345,0,0,1,36,... and the last line will always be a number like: + or -123456789I also have 12 textboxes (a0.text to a11.text). How do i write each line from the RTB in a textbox?-i can't show you my code because it looks stupid and no matter what i tried i always ended up getting the same error "Index was outside the bounds of the array"-

Can you add values inside textboxes that are located in tables in Visual Basic 2008?
I put a TableLayoutPanel on a form and inside the Table I put textboxes. Outside the table there is a button. The whole point of the program is so that the user inputs numerical values inside the textboxes and then hits the button and the answer comes out in another textbox. But its not working. It worked when I didn't put my textboxes inside the TableLayoutPanel.[code]...

I am attempting to read an XML and display certain portions of the XML in a datagridview. I was able to get one table at a time, but I am having trouble figuring out how to get ALL the info I want from the XML and not just one table at a time.
I was speaking to someone and they told me that my issue is that the dataset contains datatables and it's not just one big piece of information that I can use. I looked into merge code, but I haven't managed to get anything working the way I would like.[code...]

I have two tables: One wich contains the columns "first_name", "last_name" and "status_id". The other table contains "status_id" and "description".
Now, I want to display "first_name", "last_name" and "description" in one DataGridView. What is the best way to do this?
What I'm doing now, is that I'm manually adding a datacolumn to the first table. Then I'm looping through each row and filling the new column manually. Now, that doesn't seem very smart and efficient, but I haven't found any better solution.

i never work with datagridview and i need to make the selected row displayed in textboxes. For example i had three textboxes (txt1, txt2, txt3) and the datagridview had three columns (name, surname, address). The datagridview in connected with an access database using oledbconnection. i was able to display a search data/record in my datagridview but my textboxes remains still and wont change to the corresponding row i have selected in my datagridview. other meaning of my doubt is how to bound a textbox with my datagridview so that it should display the details in the texbox of whichever row i'll be selecting from the datagridview

I've been trying to use lookup tables to display names instead of ID's in a DataGridView using a DataGridComboBoxColumn and have even copied the example shown in the Forms over Data videos produced by Microsoft but still get the following error message:System. =Argument Exception:DataGridView ComboBoxCell value is not valid..Everything was done in the designer and the problem only occurs with the DataGridView; lookups work fine using a combo box when displaying single records.Also the error message only pops up when I close the form. Prior to that all the names are displayed correctly for each record, the drop down list shows the names correctly and I can edit, add and delete rows and save all my edits with no problems. Its just when I close the form that the problem occurs.Each time I press OK in the message box the names in the combo boxes are removed, one by one.

I was about to create a program about CPU Scheduling (SJF Nonpreemptive), Now, I want to ask the user to input the no. of processes ,then based from the user's input I would display exact no. of text boxes where the user could enter the value for each process then store it in an array. But I don't know how to code the text box., I'm new to VB.net and I'm used to it's 'drag and drop' nature. I just want to know how the code to output this text boxes. and is it possible to have an array of text boxes?
BtW I'm thinking of using 2 forms here
Form 1 for the USER INPUT OF THE NO. OF PROCESSES

I am building an inventory program. One of my forms shows the store info. It will also have a section that shows all the equipment we keep track of at that store. I am currently trying to set it up by using tab controls with textboxes for each item. The code seems ugly and sloppy and I just don't like the interface. I am looking for ideas on a better way to do this. I know I could use a datagridview, but there is lots of data and I don't think there would be enough room for it.

I need to add the contents (integers) of two textboxes and display the result in a label. I've been trying like this within a button click event:

I'm writing an assignment in VB for a class which displays records from an Access database. It goes as follows:
From a "Rooms" table, I get the rooms to be displayed in a combo box along with 3 checkboxes which will tell me if they have a jacuzzi, private access of a fire place. From a different table in the same database I need to display in text boxes the bed size, weekday and weekend prices for booking each room. The text boxes should display the correct information according to what was selected in the combo box, but I can't get that to work! The checkboxes work fine, but the text boxes stay the same.

When i press the 'edit' button a listview is shown, filled with records('empcode' field from empdetail) from a access table, say 'empdetail'. now if i doubleclick on a particuler record in the listview, then the listview will disappear and the records will be displayed in the textboxes. exactly what we do in vb6, the coding follows,cn is the connection to the db.
