[2005] Assemblyinfo.vb Being Checked Out Automatically
Jan 22, 2009
I have a project that, whenever I open it up in VS, assemblyinfo.vb gets checked out from sourcesafe. I'm not aware of changing anything, but is there some setting that I have in place that is causing this to happen?
How to create AssemblyInfo.vb, Resources.resx and Application.myapp in vb.net 2005? I recently see these things come along with vb.net sample code everywhere. Suppose I try to create new project and I want the AssemblyInfo.vb, Resources.resx and Application.myapp appear under "My Project", how can I do that?
Why is this code having the opposite effect? If It's checked in the checkedlistbox it's not check in my view, if it's not check in my checkedlistbox it is checked in the grid.
EDIT: More specifically. The CheckState.Checked is always the opposite. .Checked means it's not checked.
Private Sub CheckedListBox1_ItemCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ItemCheckEventArgs) Handles CheckedListBox1.ItemCheck Try
i tried to compile assemblyInfo.vb with my source code so that i can i have the information with the output. The project was compiled without the AssemblyInfo.vb. So please, if you know the error from the code below let me know.Dim source2 as string=Application.StartupPath & "assemblyInfo.vb"Dim source1 as string=Application.StartupPath & "Form1.vb"cp.CompilerOptions = source1 source2/target:winexe"
I've noticed on a few tutorials online that when a new ASP.NET Server Control is added, it automatically includes Properties folder (containing AssemblyInfo.cs) and a References folder.
This works fine for me when creating a C# Server Control, but in VB.NET I just get a template .vb file and a Project file.
Why is this and how can I get an AssemblyInfo.vb file?
I've seen a lot of the "auto version" update add-ons for VS, and well I decided to write one for myself. It's manually triggered, but put as a external tool in the IDE it works rather nice. I based it off of reading the AssemblyInfo.vb file for a project (so at the moment it only works in VB not C#). So my app (given certian parameters) will auto increment the FileVersion and Assembly version together, so they stay the same through out. (it simpler for me that way). But i noticed a little issue with this method of reading the assemblyinfo.vb file, changing the values and saving the file and then forcing a "Rebuild" of the project.
When I go to Explorer, right-click | Properties on the file, in the Version tab, the "AssemblyVersion" has not changed, where the Product and File Version has. so for example I've got Test.Exe I open up the project properties and set via the UI the versions to:
I currently have a nightly build system running as a windows scheduled task, calling at batch file, that works sort of like this: Check out the latest revision from subversion Modify the AssemblyInfo.vb file of the main executable and the librarys to set the version number to 0.0.0.revision Invoke MSBuild to build everything (including the installer) Upload the installer and a log of the build to an FTP server This works ok, but step 2 is dirty and fragile, and I can't imagine that this the only way to do what I want. Any ideas?
I have the following update command which needs to be amended, I want before the query to check if chkactive checkbox is checked or Not, if checked then True value to be added to the tblProjects otherwise if unchecked False to be added.
I have managed to get it to write a string to a textfile if the listviews checkbox is checked but i can not get it to write a particular string if it is unchecked.
'LOOP CHECKED ITEMS For Each lstItem As ListViewItem In Me.ListView1.CheckedItems Next
How do i Iterate an unchecked item as the library doesn't have .UnCheckItems?
If its checked i need to add "true" to the string and if its unchecked i need to add "false" to a string that gets written to a textfile.
I made an aplication on windows XP and VB.Net 2008 and works fine, but I moved to Windows 7 and Visual Studio 11 Beta and it wont let me build my aplication and displays this error When I double click on the error msg a window pops up a says "There is no editor available for C:(file path)AssemblyInfo.vb
i use VS 2005 ,so it use ,net framework 2.0 ,so if i look to ,net framework that i have in my computer i see 1.0 1.1 2.0 3.0 and 3.5 so my question is is VS 2005 automatically use the latest version of framework in my pc or i should do it manually ,and if manually how i do it?
I am creating a dll that a third party application runs. When I create a dll from scratch and not a base dll that they gave to me, the code does not automatically compile when I click the f5 (run debugging). Is there a setting that is project specific that would cause this behavior?I use the "start external program" option for debugging.
my form contains a checked list box [data coming from the database] a combo box [bind to a database table product] and a listview [was previously a listbox]
I use VB 2005 Express @ home for developing stuff. I am wondering if anyone knows how to run a script automatically after building my application. When I click build I want it to compile my InnoSetup installer and also zip up my executable + readme.txt file into AppName-version.zip. Right now I manually do it, and it's not that big of a deal, but if I am just wondering if it's possible. I think I can do it with full VS, so I will check it at work, but I am wondering if I can write a plugin or something if VB2k5X doesn't have an option do it already built in.
project im working on for my course, the idea is a photo printing machine that loads up 4 images if usb stick is checked and a different 4 if memory card is checked. and then whatever image is selected appears in the big picturebox on the left [URL] i have 2 print size options set as radiobuttons, radiobutton 1 = 6x4, which costs 25cent per photo, radiobutton 2 = 8x10, and is 50cent per photo.i also have a textbox which will display the number of copies to be printed So here's my dilemma, when the print button is selected alongside one of the radiobuttons i want it to display a message saying something like this "you have selected (whatever the amount of copies)of this photo sized 6x4, or 8x10 depending on which radiobutton is selected, and i want it to display the total cost which is the number of copies multiplied by the rate for the print size selected, then an option saying "Do you wish to proceed" Yes or No.
I did something similar to this in class earlier in the year but cant remember it, it was an airline booking program with 3 types of payment cash, visa or mastercard, upon booking a message popped up saying there is a certain percentage discount for using visa or mastercard
All fields from my class objects are added to the columns collection of DataGridViews, when the forms or custom controls that contain them are viewed within the VS 2005 designer. I haven't been able to figure out how to stop the designer from auto-adding all of the fields found within the bindingsource object.
I've got a checked listbox on my form which saves the checked items to a spot in my database on the .ItemCheck event. But there's a problem, when I begin checking items, I check the box and click off it, but it doesn't save. (This is if I've only chosen one item)
If I choose two or more items it will save, but unchecking them takes a lot of clicking around to figure it out.Is there a better event that I can use? I've tried the SelectedIndexChanged and that has the same result, there's a lot of clicking around in the checkboxes to end up with the desired selected items, and it does not allow a single item.
In a listview with check boxes, there are two fields being loaded, ID and Lastname. With this information I want to get the ID of the person whose box is checked with this sub:
I trying to get what I think should be a simple thing. I have a checked treeview. I need to get the text of each checked node into a string. For the life of me I can't get it. I am trying to loop thru all the nodes and see if they are checked but I keep getting a "object reference not set to an instance of an object" but I don't know why.
Dim value As String Dim node As TreeNode Dim i As Long
If CheckBox1.Checked = True Then Try cn = New SqlConnection("server=localhost;database=attendance1;uid=sa;password=;")
cn.Open()
[CODE]..........
If both the textboxes are filled with time then it is saved into table...but if checkbox in not checked then in that case it shows error...it's due to datetime datatype of both the columns of table....how can enter"off" when checkbox in not checked?
