Database - OleDbCommandBuilder OleDbDataAdapter?
May 6, 2011I have a field in a 2003 access database named first. I run the data adapter update command, gives me "Syntax error in UPDATE statement." I change the field name to firstName, try the update again, it works. I already have a bunch of programs using the database and using the field "first", do I really have to rename my field, go back and update all my programs to read from firstName instead of first? I really don't want to go that route if I don't have to. (provider=microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0)
*Edit: I meant to specify, I want the answer to use commandbuilder (but it won't work that way).

Update Access Database With OleDbCommandBuilder?
Oct 7, 2011I have been working on this for a couple days now, and I am ready to throw my computer through the window.I am still rough around the edges with Visual Studio 2010.When I run the project, it works just as it should. the fields populate with the selected items from the .accdb, and I can navigate just fine up and down the rows. The problem comes when I try to update the info. When I change a value and hit the update button I get the following ERROR: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException was unhandled Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression '((PID = ?)

VS 2005 OleDb - Reading TXT File Into DataTable
Aug 15, 2011My program reads a 3rd party .txt file using OleDb and reads the file into a datatable. It's overall working fine except a user will occasionally have a problem reading a file. At this point.

It can not retrieve a date for one of the fields, then gives error and does not get dates for each records after the one it gets hung up on but the date is in the file. If I open the file in excel and play with the column sizing, for instance just autoformat column width then it read the date and will work fine. I have looked at the file in notepad and cant see anything wrong in particular on the record it gets hung up on. I have no control over the .txt file since it comes form a 3rd party.

Feb 9, 2009I have a program runs with access database. It runs ok on WINXP. However, when I run it on Vista, it shows this exception: system.InvalidOperationException: The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.
I searched, it seems the exception has some relations with 64bit OS, but my vista is 32bit home version.

May 7, 2009I have a problem with Oledb connection when I am trying to open an Excel spreadsheet:

This piece of code works well on one computer, but on another the IMEX=1 doesn't seem to work, and the Jet seems to read the first few rows of the Excel spreadsheet that are numeric and decides that the whole spreadsheet is numeric, so it ignores some String values later in the sheet.

Efficiency Of Oledb - Got 10+ Users Using Files, Via A Oledb To Put Info Into An Excel Spreadsheet
Oct 18, 2010Just wondering if i might hit a snag in my program. Ive got 10+ users using the same files, via a Oledb to put info into an excel spreadsheet. If 2 or more people save there file at the same time will the program go into read only on one person. Normally one 3 will use the file at one time. I know Sql itself would be better to use. best way i can describe it, normally using excel if you manage to open the same file twice one opens as normal but the other opens as a Read only file, will the same thing happen if im using Oledb connections?

Jun 20, 2008I created a database program when I used Windows XP and now I'm using Vista x64 When I try to run my program I get error message "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0-providers not registerd on your computer. I have looked for solutions everywhere but the only thing I found was for Visual Studio.

I am in the process of re-writing a small VFP app in VB.NET, and am using the VFP DBF tables, (via OleDb). It is a real struggle for me to comprehend all the levels to keep track of and was wondering in anyone knows of some sample code that would point me in the right direction. After I complete this small app re-write, I have others to do that all require the VFP DBF table updates.
