VS 2008 - Creating Animation Using Timer
Oct 30, 2009I want to make an application witch involves logging into google. It is basically a small application to always have your gmail with you without always having to go to the web browser and log in. Basically what I want to do is, when the person signs into their google account (or the page url changes) I want the webbrowser to refresh and go to a new point in the form and create an animation using a timer. I dont need advise with the animation, I just need to know how to link it together with the person signing into google. And also, If it's possible I would like to have the person log in without the actual google web interface, but with 2 textboxes and a button. I am using Visual Studio 2008.

Aug 15, 2011I am using the O/R Designer to create entity classes in VB 2010. I am observing different results for different database tables that I can't explain and more importantly, can't replicate the results that I want.Using server explorer, I have dragged a number of tables on the O/R designer surface, thereby creating the entity classes.
I have saved the project and can access the various entity classes in my project code. I first noticed a difference when changes made to object instances from some tables/entity classes appeared to persist while changes made to object instances from other tables/entity classes did not persist. These object instances are created, accessed, and changed using the exact same code patterns except for the object, class and table names.
I have been looking to see if there are any differences between the way in which the entity classes are treated, either in my code, in server explorer, or in the O/R Designer. I cannot find any. The properties of the entity classes indicate that all of the classes use the runtime methods for insert, delete and update. As far as I am aware, I have not knowingly made changes to these methods.
The ONLY difference that I find is in the file NameofClass.designer.vb. This is an automatically generated document. The partial class of those objects that appear to persist changes contains different code from that of other partial classes where changes to objects do not persist.In the declarations section of this partial class, the following lines appear:

If I am right then I want to enable persistence in my other classes by causing this additional code to be generated for them. But how? why the code for this one class hase been generated differently than for all the others (actually it is this way for 2 out of about 15 classes). What setting or or selection do I have to make to enable this code to be created for my other entity classes during the automated process?

Creating A Timer Form A Internet Cafe?
Feb 15, 2012im trying to do is countdown timer.already done with the start time and stop time but when it comes to the pause time and resume cant seem to make it work, what i did was put on the event click on my pause button was add a timer1.enabled = false and on the resume button timer1.enabled true, it does it job pausing the running time, but when i resume for example, i pause at a time of 05:30 for 9 seconds then resume the timer resumes at 5:21, (im making a countdown timer here) ,what i want to happen is that, when i resume, it will resume from 5:31 then continue counting down to 5:30,5:29 .

Aug 5, 2009I have been working on an app that was basically a vb6 app but had to be changed and I did it all using VB 2008. works well, great. One of the problems that I had was to work on different groupboxes or frames. Since they are layered on top of each other, working on one frame would mess up the others. Eventually it all went okay. but now if i want to add another item in the menu and hence add another groupbox (or frame) in the same app - it would definitely be a nightmare.

The solutions seem simple and obvious, once one has succeeded in finding them, but the way get an understanding of their simplicity can be hard.I am now working since weeks on a control class and I don't seem to get it right. ERROR With WPF Designer In VS 2008 - Cannot Debug
Mar 31, 2009I've started a project in Expression Blend and has been working the codes in Visual Studio 2008. It was alright, no problem. I've worked heaps of projects like that before without any problems. However, out of nowhere, my WPF designer in VS2008 now gives me the following error:

It displays the above instead of displaying the WPF designer. Also, I cannot Debug>Start Debugging the application anymore. I can still run/test/build it in Expression studio though. The funny thing is that if I restart a project in Expression blend, copy all the xaml codes, and copy all the vb .net codes from the original application, it works for some time, and then afterwards start giving me the same error at wpf designer in VS2008.

Unable To Move Objects In Designer - VB 2008
Dec 3, 2009I cannot move objects (such as buttons, listboxes, etc) in the Windows Forms Designer by clicking and dragging them with my mouse. This gets really annoying after a while. However, I can move them with the key pad (up down left right) and by changing the location property. Does anyone know what is going on?
Oh and I'm running vista with all the service packs and latest updates, and I don't have any viruses (scanned with MBAM, Spybot and Avast)
VS 2008 Fill Datatable That Was Created With Designer
Nov 11, 2010I have a datatable that was created with the dataset designer. I have it bound to my datagridview. All the columns are set up the way I want, etc. I am performing a SQL operation at runtime, so I can create SQL statements dynamically rather than creating them with the designer. When I try to fill the existing datatable, I get no results. There is no error, but the data i should be seeing in the DGV is not there. However, if I fill a dataset that is created in code at runtime, and then set table(0) of that dataset as the DGV's datasource, the data displays as it should.
