im trying to do is countdown timer.already done with the start time and stop time but when it comes to the pause time and resume cant seem to make it work, what i did was put on the event click on my pause button was add a timer1.enabled = false and on the resume button timer1.enabled true, it does it job pausing the running time, but when i resume for example, i pause at a time of 05:30 for 9 seconds then resume the timer resumes at 5:21, (im making a countdown timer here) ,what i want to happen is that, when i resume, it will resume from 5:31 then continue counting down to 5:30,5:29 .
In my timer like the time they use in computer shop and when the player is already time out it will alert...the idea like this if the player start 3:00:00 then it will appear in the textbox for the time - in and in the time - out textbox the time is decreasing until 0:05:00 and it will alert using message.box.Show("Computer 2 is 5 mins before time end") and also for the payment textbox in every 15 mins it will addition payment for example 10.00....i need the source code or idea to create this..
I want to create a simple client server with GUI to control my little internet cafe in my house. My Question :
1. Where I can get some tutorial to control another computer with my server application
2. Where I can get some tutorial to control bandwidth usage (if can or available)
Honestly, for number one question, I want to block or control user for opening Porn site or Download with download manager that take too much bandwidth so it's affect another user connect too slowlyJust it for billing timing, pricing or another like that I can to program it, but for controling I still didn't understand.
I am trying to an Internet Cafe Management program, I have created a form with a start button for users to click, it starts the timers, and then a Finish button which clears the timers and brings the start button back up. That is as far as I have gotten.
What I am stuck on, is I want the timers and finish button to be constantly visible on their screen (Never behind any other windows they have open) and I also need to create the server application which when the finish button is pressed it sends the time to the server application and also calculates the price to charge the customer.
I preferably dont want to be given some source code to download and use that, I am wanting to make this as a learning experience for me.
I am making a internet cafe system, but I need a login system. I want to use MySQL, but I am not sure of any good servers(that are free) and of the code to use because all the code I try crashes.
I have a timer in vb.net and it's interval is 1000ms ,. i have placed in it's timer_tick event a code that will print screen the screen and save it to a database. The problem is when i click outside of the form, or loosing the focus of the mouse to the form containing that timer/printscreen, the timer stops. As a result the printscreen also stops.here are it's properties:
generate member = true interval = 1000 modifiers = friend
There are some programs like uTorrent that allow me log into them through the url...How would I be able to create a port like that, and display information there?
creating an internet filter that is supposed to interface with web browsers, eg. Explorer, Chrome (not a web browser I made) and then block specific websites on the browser. I'm kind of lost on where I need to start with the interface. Could someone please just point me in the direction I need to go for 1) the program to work with any browser 2) For blocking specific sites.
My idea is that i want to create a auto-shutdown app that will allow me to auto-shutdown after downloads have completed using IE6. Third part download managers have these built in for example however i would like to make one for IE download dialog. Any ideas on how do start. Detect when a download is active, set time, autoshutdown etc.
I would like to make a timer using a label or something equivalent. What I want to do is to have the label to count the time from a specific function.Lets say i have a button on my form named "btnRun".I would like to have it so when I click button run it will make "Label1" count up until the a certain function stops.I would like it to display Hours, Minutes and seconds.
I am creating a game. With each timer tick a new picture box is generated and displayed. This works.[code]Now with a different timer I would like to move each of these generated picture boxes down 5 pixels with each timer tick.I cannot access the pctAlien variable outside of the statement it is declared. Is this the best way of generating the pictureboxes?
I already created a button "enjoy button" that i want to move in a form when the "timer start button" is clicked. how do link the timer to the "timer start button" and make it move?this is what i tried so far..

I want to make an application witch involves logging into google. It is basically a small application to always have your gmail with you without always having to go to the web browser and log in. Basically what I want to do is, when the person signs into their google account (or the page url changes) I want the webbrowser to refresh and go to a new point in the form and create an animation using a timer. I dont need advise with the animation, I just need to know how to link it together with the person signing into google. And also, If it's possible I would like to have the person log in without the actual google web interface, but with 2 textboxes and a button. I am using Visual Studio 2008.
What I am looking to do is write a VB.NET program, as a service that reports anything on client1 that I want (say the fact it is online) to a database on the internet, so I can look on management1 and see the online status of the machine (assuming management1 has a connection to the online database).
What is being reported doesn't matter, what I am looking at is a starting point to create a system like that. I have googled obviously and come up with nothing, I'd just like a "starting point" or some documentation to look at for creating something like this. The service doesn't look too difficult but the periodic reporting of online status or ANYTHING to any kind of database is not something I am sure how to deal with.
I already have setup a VBS that reports information to an ASP script that then places it in a database but I don't know how I would create say a "keep alive" connection for a vb.net service.
im trying to create an auction countdown timer in my form but I'm not sure how to do it. The countdown timer Im interested in would be similar to the ones found in BeezID or Swoopco, where the timer continuously counts down, then when a person makes a bid, the timer goes up by 5-10 seconds and continues the countdown.
I am working on a project for Cyber Cafe on VB.Net. I am unable to give the facility for storing how much data downloaded and uploaded during net surfing on a particular computer.
I want to create an application for cyber cafe which I thought should be as follows :-
1. My app starts with windows and is hidden in the system tray. 2. When IE starts my app gives a popup that your time has started at "Whatever the time at the moment would be". 3. When user closes its time is calculated in a Msgbox.
The problem is how to check if the users opens another IE window while working and add the bill to the same user. To reset the timer when i.e., is closed by first user and second user starts operating. How to start the app with windows and that too in system tray.
Im doing this project but u have a problem. im trying to make it so that when a timer in the first form(form1) ticks a progress bar in the other form goes up by 1.
I have one form, which the user enters upto 5 websites then clicks go - I have on the second form, the one with the webbrowser. timer which checks if the web browser is busy then either a green light or black image will be shown along side the assocaited input box on the first form. I am finding it impossible to feed variables into the clock through ByVal, like I would a subroutine or function.
I have a very irritating problem with connecting to SQL Server/Database. I've created a windows form and connected it to the database on my server (connection string: "Data Source=KARIMOV-PC;Initial Catalog=ApplicationForm;Integrated Security=True")... it works well and without any problems!!But I when I tried to connect my application to the database through internet with connection string "Data Source=190.190.200.100,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=ApplicationForm;User ID=KARIMOV-PC\KARIMOV (My computer name and windows authentication ID);Password=;", the "USUAL" message has appeared to me saying."A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)".
I really really need to understand why my own server "KARIMOV-PC" doesn't work as a remote SQL Server although the SQL Remote Connections and SQL Browser r enabled and running? And Why .\SQLEXPRESS is the more needed/required although I log in to SQL with Windows Authentication, but not SQL Authentication??
I am trying to programmatically post to a textbox on a web form in IE - I have tried sendkeys - but I dont find them reliable or consistent - The code below is perfect - but only seems to work in a webbrowser control. How do I (click a button/select a radiobutton) send 'hello world' to a textbox on a webform in IE? By the way I would be happy to use the webbrowser control (so the code below would work) - but the webpage (which is not the one in the code below) runs locally on my machine (I dont have any control over it) and does not seem to work within a webbrowser control

JUst started to program in VB again after a long downtime (5-6 years).During this time I have been programing in ADA , Java and have therefore forgotten the "VB-way of doing things". Anyway..I'm triyng to build a web-aplication that looks like a normal questionform. [code]When the user hits "Submit" I want to add this information to a Excel-sheet(that exist in the same map as the web-page).Also I want to to program to check if that "Type" of event is already book for that date and time.I can easily do some of this in a "normal " application but is there anything special I have to think about when it's a web-app?Im also wondering how its works when you want to copy info from my application to a excel-book. How do I do that ?
I have a page open on Internet Explorer, the site uses the Server.Redirect method which basically keeps the page reading "sitename.com/default.aspx" even when you move to different pages.. so with that said I really can't load it within a web browser on my form application.
I need to auto fill out the fields on an external Internet Explorer, not really in need of actually processing the page.
