It works ok when filter is on other fields but brings empty on 'CallDate' date field. I have declared the 'CallDate' field in db as long date format in Access.

In my page there is a fileupload control and a gridview. When I upload a file, the DocName and the path of the saved file will in the gridview. I put the filepath in a hyperlink field so that it will show "View file"(not the path). My problem is - the gridview is showing "view file" text when there is no file saved.It works fine when I upload a file.

View 2 RepliesAny method that can effectively get the total number of rows that is StartRows to EndRows in a database table and then get the corresponding data from that row as currently I am having difficulty in retrieving out the correct row of data to the column that I am comparing. It will always get the first row of data regardless of which row I put in the handphone number which I'm comparing to. The codes below is the one which I am currently using now to detect the maxrows in the database and also to retrieve the corresponding information.

I used a msgbox(n) to see the number of rows in the database but it displays only one where I have two rows in my database. The for loop is the one which will detect the number of maxrows and also retrieve out the corresponding details. But apparently this is not the appropriate way.

I am working on Treeview control and Gridview Control VB.NET08. In the Treeview i have Parent and Child Nodes. Like: [Code] Comparing the Parent Node text and first two digits in the Column values. I want to add rows inbetween the gridview rows based on the parent and Child Nodes. If i expand the First Parent Node Called "31" then according to the Number of Child Nodes (for first parent node(31) there are 5 child nodes.) add rows in the gridview.
These New rows should be add under the 31-xxxx. If i expand the 32 Parent Node based on number of Child Nodes, add rows under the 32-xxxx. [Code] I am getting the rows in the end of the Gridrow not in the Specific row.

I have a database and I'm storing images in it along with a person's name, and other attributes. I've databound my listview with a stored procedure. I want to know how I can display an icon on a row depending on if the record for that row has a picture or not for the person...I'm not sure how to accomplish this however with the templates in asp.net

View 4 RepliesI am creating a project in VB.NET in which one of the reports require that the name of employees should be displayed as column names and whatever work they have done for a stated period should appear in rows below that particular column.Now as it is clear, the columns will have to be added at runtime. Am using an ODBC Data source to populate the grid. Also since a loop will have to be done to find out the work done by employees individually, so the number of rows under one column might be less or more than the rows in the next column.Is there a way to create an empty data table and then update its contents based on columns and not add data based on addition of new rows.
View 1 RepliesI'm writing an email application that will be used to send HTML news articles to clients. I'm using a dataset to return the headlines to display to the client. When I loop through the dataset the the latest record is returned but latest headline link is not displayed. So the outputted HTML is the same headline everytime, which is the first record in the dataset. How do I move to the next record in the data set and get the outputted HTML to display the next/correct headline?

since I now have the records returned as URL format, how can I display those as hyperlinks in my gridview? (this is how the client wants it done, not much I can say to change their mind)

I have a fair bit of experience with VB.NET and C# (In this case I chose VB.NET, blame my laziness), but I do most of my professional work using PHP. I have no experience what so ever in using any database with VB.NET let alone MySQL.Just FYI, at the moment I am only trying to Query the database to gather the information required to activate. how i can implement below requirement using asp.net and vb.net.I have three fields in a form which are filled by users. Based on these three values, i need to auto-populate the 4th field.I have planned to implement this in the following way.Write a separate class file with a function to calculate the possible values for the 4th fields based on 1st 3 inputs. This function can return some where between 1-10 values. So I've decided to use drop-down for 4th field, and allow users to select the appropriate value.Call the above function in onchange function of 3rd field and take and use the return values to populate the 4th field. *Transaction Record
*Account Details
Account details table has the field "Account Number" as its primary key.
Transaction record has the field "transaction number" as its primary key and "account number" as its foreign key. This is a table created in ms access. I am creating a program in vb.net to maintain this database.
When i try to find rows using an oledb_data_adapter, an error occurs stating that there are muliple values.
i think this is due to the fact that the records in the transaction details table are being selected by the account number. Many records in the transaction details table can have the same account number.
i need a coding to help me display the most recent 10 transaction records of one account number, one after the other.
P.S: transaction record table also contains "transaction date" field.
I have a system whereby I have a SQLite database with around 200+ records. I basically need to cycle through all rows, get the value from one of the columns, perform an algorithm, then re-insert the value.
I know I could do this in a long engrossed way, by getting all data, updating in arrays and such, and then re-inserting via tons of sql queries, however this seems a bit slow and I am sure there is some better way of doing it.
I'm working with Windows Forms - VB.NET.Here's what I have:
A ListView with checkboxes set to True
A Button (triggers the update)
A database table with similar fields as the ListView
What I want to happen:when the user clicks the Button, all items on the ListView with checkbox checked will be updated.My progress:I've already collected the ID of the checked items and stored them in an array. I'll be using this to update the database table.I don't know how to put them in the SqlCommand.Parameters Also, I don't know the update command for such scenario (where in/exist (@parameters))

I want to change the row color of every row in my DataGridView where a particular column value = "RBF3". I am currently using the DataBindingComplete event which seems to work fine, but it fires every time I change a cells value. I'd like for this bit of code to only fire when the datagridview is first displayed, sorted, or filtered. Is this possible?
