View 1 RepliesI have a problem regarding an access file I attached to this post.I have a table which contains the costs(VVGK) for each month in 2008, 2009 and 2010. For each month we have planned costs(Plan) and the real costs (Ist). And what I want to realize is that in the report in the top right it automatically displays the percentage difference between the plan and real costs of the last month. And this should then be automatic every time I give new input(new month, new VVGK Ist).

I have built some simple software using vb2008 and excel to automate the process of ordering material and keeping track of work in progress at my business...Once the product is complete, it moves into a stock room and waits for invoicing.I have a dedicated accounting package that is far more advanced than what I can program...I want to know if there is a way to control this package as if a user was moving around the screen and clicking and inputing info?Or another means of control?

I have created a form that contains a DataGridView with data from a SQL Database. After viewing, the user will want to update checkbox fields in a single column of the DataGridView This action needs to update the SQL Database. I have set the "ReadOnly" to false on all the columns of the form and placed an "Edit" button on the form which changes the ReadOnly Property to True on the Column where changes would be allowed. How do I then set the binding to update the Sql with the changes made by the user?

Before performing an update, the application must search for that record in the database. Once it's found then it return to the Data access layer. Typicaly when i return rows i return them in a dataset. The i send it to the client to load on to the ListView Constrol or to textbooxes. therefore data was sent from the dataset object, therefore onces the user has made updates to the data, first i must update the dataset.
In the Data access layer i can write method that contains the command object for update DB and bind it with the current Dataset so that each time dataset updates it sychrinizes DB with it. Assume i have a method called update() in teh business layer that calls the updateDB in the DataAccess Layer, how can i call the Update() of the business layer each time the user updates the dataset?

the change event works but what I need is the ID of the row so the user can be updated.
title is a bit vague. Is there any way I can tell if it's the user or the code that's altered a combobox? I want certain things to happen when a combobox is updated, but I don't want them to happen when the code is altering the combobox at runtime, only when the user selects something out of them. Unfortunately, if I use the 'Selectedindexchanged' option that triggers when I change the contents in code too. I've tried disabled the combobox while I update it, but that doesn't seem to work. Any way to detect user input only? My combobox is drop-down only by the way, so it's only if they select an option - they can't type anything.

Currently, I am using a VB.NET to generate an interface for the user to update parameter of a PCB board MCU. However, I found that some data might be having a problem while transmitting.
Previously, I am using a chrW() to change the transmit data before put into the MyRS232.Write(), however, some data have corrupted or changed while I transmit. The signal show the checksum is wrong while sending the set of data.
After I use an oscilloscope to check the signal transmitted. I found out that, when I sent the data is between &H80 to &H9F (&b 100* ****), the signal will change to &H3E (&b 0011 1111). Anyone have any idea why this happened? Now the temporary solution I found for this one is I use a chr() instead of chrW() for the data between &H80 to &H9F.

I am using another function ChrWt instead of Chr or ChrW only. I remember that, I change from Chr to ChrW because some data corrupt also while I sent using Chr only. Did anyone of you having this problem as well? Any suggestion instead of using another function?

I need to update my array when the user checks a box in a checked list box. I have been struggling with this for awhile and have it working almost perfectly. It adds items just fine, but when I try to remove them it won't do it until I check another box.I have a CheckedListBox called fields, and a ListBox called included, and an array called fieldsArry.Here is the code when the user checks a box:

I know why it is only working on one and not the other - my problem is figuring out how to get it to work on both. For whatever reason (this drives me crazy sometimes) when I check a box in the CheckedListBox it runs all the code I put in there before it even checks the box. So I can't just reference that box as a checked box until after all the code in the itemCheck event is finished. I remedied this in the updateFieldArray by including the currently selected item as a included item, which means that even when they are trying to uncheck something (remove it from the array) it is selected and will be included.
I have a manually created a dataset (dsPickingList) that I add data too as the user inputs data on a form. There is a datagridview on my form of which it's datasource is set to dsPickingList.What I would like to do is spot if a user deleteds a row from the datagridview and update the dataset (dsPickingList) as it is ultimatly this dataset that is stored to the db and printed, not the DataGridView.[code]This is why I need the action from the DataGridView to update the dataset
