VS 2008 Textbox Tabbing - Cannot Find A Difference In Properties Of Textboxes Compared To Rest
Sep 1, 2010I have a program that someone else designed the form on and sent to me to populate the code. I am not sure what could have been done to cause this problem, hoping for a quick oversight on my part. There are several fields of textboxes that the user enters numbers in. Normal behavior for textboxes is when you tab to them the current contents are highlighted. On one of these textbox fields, and only that one set of textboxes, the contents are highlighted like normal at first, but after the user edits the content of the textbox, if you tab to it again it will go directly into edit mode instead of highlighting the contents. Each textbox in the field does this individually, so if you just edit one, all the rest will continue to highlight contents until you edit them as well. It appears you don't actually have to change the value of the textbox, just entering edit mode and getting a blinking cursor is enough. I cannot find a difference in the properties of these textboxes compared to the rest.

May 17, 2012I have a form that has a tabcontrol (TabControl1) and within that tab control is another one (TabControl2). I have textboxes on the main form as well as in each of the tabcontrols.
In my savebutton event I have the following code:

What happens is that it records those textboxes that have changed and writes it to addendum.text. The problem is that it is only capturing those textboxes on my main form and none of the textboxes that get changed within TabControl1 or TabControl2.

DoubleClick Without MouseUp?
Dec 20, 2011I'm using the MouseDown to create objects, they are used within MouseMove and they are killed within MouseUp Event. Now I want to use the Doubleclick Event to build in some shortcuts. My problem is that the MouseUp routine is called sometimes before the DoubleClick routine. I do need the MouseDown Event before starting the DoubleClick code, however sometimes the MouseUp event is triggered which is killing the needed objects.
Is it possible to get the DoubleClick-event routine always without the MouseUp routine?

I tried, in a exception handling block, where I did a GetValue of the PropertyInfo object and then called SetValue by setting the same value back... but to my surprise it worked well and didn error out.

Make Object Follow Mouse On MouseDown And 'Stick' On MouseUp
Apr 14, 2011I'm working with a project that is WPF and VB.net. I want to visually simulate "dragging" an object (though I do not want to use standard drag and drop for reason of purpose).Basically, I have a label object that, on its MouseDown event, I want it to follow the mouse cursor inside a 640x480 solid-size grid (but not outside of it!). Mind you, this grid is centered inside a full-screen window. Again, the object should not follow the mouse outside of the grid (I'm guessing a "ClipToBounds = True" here)Then, on the label's MouseUp event, I want it to either stay in its current position or return to its original position, as determined by the value of a boolean variable set by another object's MouseEnter property.Note, if it would be easier to work with, I can change the grid to a canvas in a cinch. I'm guessing that would be desirable.
How do I make the object (label) follow the mouse cursor inside the grid/canvas, but not outside of it? This needs to happen on the MouseDown event of the label.How do I make the object "stick" in its current position? Under the Event 1 Tab in the project I would like it to have 12 different buttons (6 Start Timers, and 6 Stop Timers) that control the time in the textbox. What I am trying to do is when the button is clicked, it takes an entered string from box one (which is validated to only accept numbers) adds 235 to it then converts it to hex and finally reverse the string and sets textbox two equal to that value. Note that the final string has to be eight digits so the string may needed to be padded with zeros before the string is reversed. With that said how could I go about doing this? Also I do plan to add 2 more textboxes and another button to undo this process but I am thinking if I can figure out do it one way writing the code to undo the process shouldn't be too hard.

Feb 3, 2010I am using VB 2008 Express Edition. I made a little 3 form program to keep track of score while playing Gin. Now I'd like to make another score sheet application for a different card game with more people.I would like Form1 to have a textbox which the user may put a number in. Then on a button click that would take me to Form2 which would have the same amount of textboxes (name of player) as the user indicated on the first form.Eventually I'd like to build a UserControl (which would house the scoring for one player) and have Form3 populate with the same amount of UserControls as Form1.textbox indicates.

Aug 19, 2011What I'm trying to do is make a list of members in a read only textbox getting the data from two textboxes (first and last name) and a 'save' button.
I've made a class named 'Deltaker' (Members in english) to store data and a list 'resultater' (eng: results) using the 'Deltaker' class.
I'm trying to get user input from two textboxes 'tbxFornavn' and 'tbxEtternavn' and I use my class' public function 'Navn' to display it in the textbox 'tbxHistory'.
I've got a sub procedure to add the input to the list and clear the textboxes and enable another reset button.
So for the save button click event I run the sub procedure and I've written a for next loop to display the results from the list. The first name I enter is all good, but with the second name entry both the first and the second name gets listed as well as the first name that is already there. I thought about using the .clear function to clear the list after each input, but I also want to incorporate laptimes in the list and display the best time in a lable at the bottom of the form. Maybe also sort the list, so I need the data in the list to stay intact.

Parsing A Textbox String And Returning Substrings To Multiple Textboxes
Nov 17, 2010i've done some basic parsing with text files before.
Scenario is i have 4 textboxes String (which contains the string i'm wanting to parse) sub1, sub2, and sub3. so the string is ex. 500000-1-2
- is the char that is the seperator
so the aim here is to get
500000 into sub1
1 into sub2
2 into sub3
the real string i'm wanting to parse is much more complex, but i'm keeping it simple here for a jumping off point so i can figure the rest out.
