I am working on an application which can apply tweaks to Windows XP. I populated a TreeView with some nodes, but how can I display the diffrent properties? I mean, some need some checkboxes or radiobuttons or a listview. I want something like a TabControl, but whitout buttons on the top.
Does something like that exists?
I have class containing 10 properties. It has constructor which accepts one string parameter say "Param1". This is actually a liabrary which will be exposed to the developer.
Now when developer writes a code for creating instance of this class and pass the param1, then depending on the value of param1 developer should be able to see limited properties.
If Param1 has value1 then developer should be able to see 4 properties.
if Param1 has value2 then developer should be able to see another 3 properties etc.
I'm using a PropertyGrid to display properties of my custom object, but whenever I run the form and input stuff into the collection, it doesn't save... If I open up the CollectionEditor again, its blank.. heres my code

I am developing a web site which is basically used to display the properties and attributes of Active Directory users. When i enter a username it should show that particular users full details including : Login Id, first name, lastname, DN, account lockout status, disabled or not,password expiry etc. That is working fine. I also wanted to include USER ACCOUNT EXPIRY DATE, USER CANNOT CHANGE PASSWORD IS SET OR NOT, USER MUST CHANGE PASSWORD IS SET OR NOT. Kindly help me to add the code for these 3 purposes. I'm having trouble with collections and how it works, what I have so far is classes and I have attempted to do collection but it is not working properly. I am trying to have the collection hold the classPerson,classCustomer, and classPreferredCustomer properties, and then display it to list and labels in the Main form. [Code]

(sorry for english) so we cannot open this app two times. as you may guess i wanna open thousands instance of its. (or 2-3). i tried disassambler but code is encrytped or something like that. so what can i do? maybe i can:
* run app from diffrent application. if its possible findwindowa can fail.
* change class or window name (i think its not possible)
* block applications findwindowa call
I'm done with a solution and I don't want to work with it anymore, except for small bug fixes that may come up. I have a new project assigned to me which to take the project I just finished, and add some new features to it. But I wouuld be changing alot of stuff in this program. So I want to copy my solution, save it as a diffrent name, so I can work off the old solution and start modifying it, but I will always have the original one to fix any bugs or go back to.
View 5 RepliesI am working on a video chat program and I have almost everything working on my network I now need to figure out how to establish comunication between two clients from diffrent networks without having a middle person to switch each meassage to each other.
To clarify: I belive that I need to have a server running that each client when they start up the program will login to the server handing thier external ipaddress and port forward to get to each respective client, this will be stored in a SQL database (I know how to add the data just not hwo to get it from the source)
Then the server would brodcast the clients name to anyone that is authorized to know (currently everyone) and has there data stored on the server.Finnaly when the client shouts down it sends out the logging-off comand and deletes the adressing information from the server.The client programs will be windows form applications that use the tcpclient connection to send text meassage And the server application will be I hope a webapp.

I have been making a webbrowser in VB.net with a simple layout and simple things in it like a history, go buttons, back button, refresh, a menu etc(atm im trying to make a favourite, and a open file and stuff) but all of this are just things i see back in IE , as the engine or is based on it what my question was is it possible to make a webbrowser(not too hard ) with a diffrent engine.are there any lightweight engines? and how do i implent it with VB.net. how does this all in theory go, .i want to know how these engines work, and what functions i would need to use to make a webbrowser on that specific engine.

View 4 RepliesSo I am working on a small program that will tell the engineers the status of their testers; whether they are up or down with the time and date in addition there is also a comment box. I have created a program that has all the right buttons and options. Where I am stuck is on the save option. I want the engineers to be able to make changes to the status/date/comments and by clicking the save button to save all changes(in the status and date boxes) and text(in the comment box) so that when the program is opened at a later time or by another user on the network from a diffrent work station the latest changes from whomever will be present. The code that follows only allows the changes to be seen by on that specific computer and they are not shared to everyone who uses the program that accesses it over the network. Any help would be awsome!! Hope this is clear!

I 'm trying to achieve is have 1 button that toggles between 2 batch files start/stop - when pressed the button calls for a batch file to start process - then if pressed again it calls for another batch file to stop the process. But it would be hand to have indicator or text on button stating the status.

Before I start, I'm not 100% sure this is the right place to ask. Okey, so I'm making my own Notepad, which will contain newer features. (Private use only though) One of them being tab control.
Now I want the program to be in the "Open With..." menus for all files, so I can choose myself.
And if the program is already running when user opens a new file, I want the text to appear in a new tab, instead of a new window of the program.

I have made a Database.mdf that contains a table that Includes 3 diffrent Column Names.
1:"ID" This one i set to an primary key and i have also made it automaticlly put a number in order to the list. Like 1,2,3,4,5 for each data added. Data Type for this is int.
2:"WordCombination" Were i enter my word combination that i want it to look for)
3."TypeofCombination" Were i enter what the program should add to what i typed in texbox1 if it contains the WordCombination.
I want my program to se if texbox1 contains any of those WordCombinations in my database. And if thats true, Then i want it to show whats in the TypeofCombination + the text in texbox1 in texbox2. If i enter "What do you want ?" in Textbox1 i want the program to find that "What do you want ?" contains "you want" like in ID:1 WordCombination:you want. So becuse this is ture it should enter TypeofCombination in this case "Question:" + what i entered in Textbox1 to show in Textbox2.So if i write "What do you want ?" and click start. Textbox2 should show "Question: What do you want ?" If i Write "My name is Jake" and click start. Textbox2 should show "Answer: My name is Jake".If I Write "hello you Hi there Jacob" and click start. Textbox2 should show "Greeting: hello you Hi there Jacob".And i Should be able to add and delete Word Combinations Without having to change the program.

What I want it to do is to have it return an array of relitive file paths, from the starting direcotry I give the function. Then I will use a loop to cycle though each file in the array to make certain changes.

I want to start osmon.exe with diffrent parameters, eg. Default, Osmon2, Osmon3, Osmon4 and Osmon5.After Default has started it must wait 10 seconds, after osmon5 has started it must wait 15 seonds.Then is must write the PID# to txt file.I have the code, but when I run it, it only shows the console for 1 second, and then nothing is happening after that.

I have several List(of Class) items as public properties and when I click on the design time menu (while testing the control) there is the word "Collection" and a button with an ellipsis (...) that brings up a neat pop up with the buttons Add/remove and all of the public properties of the collection's class on the right hand side. Basically for a non-collection instance of a class (with public properties) I'd like a similar button to show up. I know I could put all of the properties in the main control class and group them, but I like the pop up box feature. Anyway to duplicate this? (think font grid item etc.)
View 3 RepliesIn the form design I set up a TableLayoutPanel, 20x20 cells and in cell (1,1) a PictureBox (called Target) containing the image of a small target. The properties box for Target shows some very promising properties, Column and Row - and if you overwrite the values in the properties box, the PictureBox obligingly shifts to the corresponding cell position in th design. However in VB it is not possible to refer to Me.Target.Row or .Column - neither appears during coding in the menu of properties, and deliberately coding either of them produces an error like
Error 1 'row' is not a member of 'System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox'.
1. Why does the properties box show properties that cannot be altered programmatically?
2. How can my program move Target around in the TableLayoutPanel?
