I wrote some code that updates the access database by clicking a button. I'd like to attached that code every time I change rows on the DataGridView. View 6 RepliesI'm not sure what is the best approach. Here is what I'm trying to do. I have installed sql express 2005 and sql express manger as pre-req before my program is installed. Now I would need to attach a DB to my new sql express instance. I'll be using windows login for this. I pretty much can not touch sql express, and run it as it was installed. No changing settings. Now I can run the SP_AttachDB from sql, but how would I automate that? I have tried the connection string, with the attach database option, but it's not working.

I have a report made in Crystal Reports XI. The report is generated and exported to PDF in visual basic script using COM interface. Generally everything is running smoothly, but in one case generation breaks with error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code 9421]
Database used is MSSQL 2005 connected over ODBC to CR XI. When I am opening report with exactly the same parameters in Designer, everything works fine.It looks like it is data related, but it is hard to trace since the whole report is pretty sophisticated. Anyway I spent half a day on crawling over Dr. Google and it seems that he has no clue what might be an issue.

In 2008 I just used Tools, attach to process, selected the running VB 6.0 app, and it would hit the .Net breakpoints. Right now it appears to be running some other version of the .Net program. It must be picking up something registered other the my code open in developemnt.
