The installation has put the mdf file in c:documents and settingsuserappsdata.I want to attach this with SQL Server Management studio but when I try to browse to the file in order to attach it, I find I can't browse further then C:documents and settingsuser.

May 18, 2009I recently upgraded the MS SQL Server installed on my personal computer from 2005 Express to 2008 Express. Problem is when I try to add an SQL database file to a project using VS 2005 I get an error message saying that the version of my database server is not supported, I must have SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 or later installed. I didn't do it yet but I'm pretty sure that when I open the other projects that I included a database file to it, I'm going to get the same error.
My question is it possible to have two SQL Servers installed on my machine? If so, is it a good idea to have two DB servers in the same machine?
Loop Through Folder - Attach Files And Send Emails
Dec 1, 2009I have encountered an error whenever I try to run my SendEmail method, the method will actually loop through a folder of files and attach the files to the mail. I am able to send email for "Records", but when the method reaches "Lists", it throws a "NullReferenceException" on the line which I have bold.

May 5, 2009I'm not sure what is the best approach. Here is what I'm trying to do. I have installed sql express 2005 and sql express manger as pre-req before my program is installed. Now I would need to attach a DB to my new sql express instance. I'll be using windows login for this. I pretty much can not touch sql express, and run it as it was installed. No changing settings. Now I can run the SP_AttachDB from sql, but how would I automate that? I have tried the connection string, with the attach database option, but it's not working.

May 11, 2012Scenario: I want to develop an application.The application should be able to connect to my remote server and download data to the local disk , while downloading it should check for new files and only download the new ones simultaneously creating the required(new) folders.
Problem: I have no idea how to compare the files in the server with the ones in the local disk.How to download only the new files from the server to the local disk?
What am thinking?: I want to sync the files in the local machine with the ones in the server. I am planning to use rsync for syncing but i have no idea how to use it with ASP.NET.
