I am getting this error:{"An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file D:WORKDocStoreDocStoreDatabaseDocStore.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share."}
I verified the file exists and is checked out for edit. This is in my app.config:

I have written a program which connects to MS sql express 2008 using the string below. This is OK on my computer but when I try to run this on a client computer I get the following message: "An attempt to attatch an auto-named database for file :(C:UsersBarry2010 vb programsadotrialadotrialResults 6.mdf) failed. I'm not sure what is the best approach. Here is what I'm trying to do. I have installed sql express 2005 and sql express manger as pre-req before my program is installed. Now I would need to attach a DB to my new sql express instance. I'll be using windows login for this. I pretty much can not touch sql express, and run it as it was installed. No changing settings. Now I can run the SP_AttachDB from sql, but how would I automate that? I have tried the connection string, with the attach database option, but it's not working.

I have a table in an Access database named 'tblSubscriptions'. I need to check wether a user with a certain user id has any subscriptions but im not sure how i would go about it. The fields within the tblSubscriptions table are: User ID, Topic Code, Completed I'm assuming i'd need to use the following command: OleDbCommand("SELECT 'Topic Code' FROM tblSubscriptions WHERE 'User ID' = '" & Username)But i wouldn't know how to use an if statement to check whether the user has any subscriptions.

Scenario: FormA has a DataGridView with a DataTable as it's DataSource. The DefaultView of the DataTable is set to a particular filter, say "UnitFreight < 2.00". The user selects multiple rows then selects a context menu item to open up form2. Form2 does a bunch of stuff and in this example it will change the UnitFreight value in the selected rows on form1 to say 2.27. It also raises an event in form1 to adjust attribute cells such as UnitPrice.
The issue is that doing the above example puts the selected rows out of the range of the applied filter and I believe this is the issue because I end up getting a "Column named UnitPrice cannot be found" error. This is happening during the update of those attribute columns. I'm guessing the row has been filtered out so there's no column to be found. If I do the update without the filter applied it works fine. So my question is, what's the best approach to updating the data in this situation. I've started converting the updates to work against the DataTable directly instead of the DataGridView.

I am in a trouble with this error:"An attempt has been made to free an RCW that is in use. The RCW is in use on the active thread or another thread. Attempting to free an in-use RCW can cause corruption or data loss." I am not sure if the RCW-error is related to my problem but I was having this error last January 25. It appears when I am ending my application. I ignored it. The next morning when I resumed coding for my application, the changes I am making does not appear at run-time anymore. Whatever GUI changes I make in my application (at design time), it does not make any effect any longer when I am running the application. What is causing this? I am so afraid if I have to restart my application from the scratch. I have gone far.

Have you ever heard about that error ? It happened to me when I used code to Close an open form . But this very strange . Not only I have used this simple code (Me.Close) in numerous forms but it also happens in a weird way . You see , I have a form with a button on it . The code in the button's Click event sais Me.Close . Also , this button is set to be the Cancel button of the form . Now , when the user closes the form either by pressing the X button or by pressing the above button , nothing happens . However , and this is very weird , when the user presses the Esc key on the keyboard , the program crashes with this error message :

I have an error that is during the query to a database ExecuteReader 'phase' of my program, i am assigning an .OleDbDataReader to a variable RetVal and then, i am giving this RetVal = Query.ExecuteReader, and then in the while the query is being read loop(While RetVal.Read) i am getting an error in runtime that is "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." I know this means i have to open the reader, but i don't know how to do this, as i have been using this process for a few weeks and haven't had this error pop up.
