VS 2008 Strange Error Due To "An Attempt To Free An RCW That Is In Use"?

Have you ever heard about that error ? It happened to me when I used code to Close an open form . But this very strange . Not only I have used this simple code (Me.Close) in numerous forms but it also happens in a weird way . You see , I have a form with a button on it . The code in the button's Click event sais Me.Close . Also , this button is set to be the Cancel button of the form . Now , when the user closes the form either by pressing the X button or by pressing the above button , nothing happens . However , and this is very weird , when the user presses the Esc key on the keyboard , the program crashes with this error message :

I am in a trouble with this error:"An attempt has been made to free an RCW that is in use. The RCW is in use on the active thread or another thread. Attempting to free an in-use RCW can cause corruption or data loss." I am not sure if the RCW-error is related to my problem but I was having this error last January 25. It appears when I am ending my application. I ignored it. The next morning when I resumed coding for my application, the changes I am making does not appear at run-time anymore. Whatever GUI changes I make in my application (at design time), it does not make any effect any longer when I am running the application. What is causing this? I am so afraid if I have to restart my application from the scratch. I have gone far.

i have tryed using multithreading with my program with no luck/I just get a strange error thrown at me no matter what i try [code] Then i get this error:An error occurred creating the form. I have a program that looks for a file named 'license.dat' upon startup. The program first checks the directory it's in, and if the license file isn't there, it prompts the user to select the license file with a file browser dialog. I have tested this code and confirmed it working in a number of different OS environments.Recently, I received reports from two users (one in Germany and one in Italy) that the program can't find the license on their computers, even though it is present in the program's directory and they manually selected it with the file browser dialog. The only commonality I'm seeing here is a lack of English OS, but beyond that I'm stumped.This is the code I'm using:

Whenever I run my service it never responds, I know it isn't the service as I have one similar running in a different aspx file running. I've looked into it and it's something to do with the web.config file but I don't know where. I verified the file exists and is checked out for edit. This is in my app.config:

I got kind a mystery situation. There's not a lot of code, only few lines but the point is that it only works partially (it saves but does not load).
I tested it with another cmbbox1, which makes it work on seperate cmbboxes but not on either one or onother on their owns.[code..]
I got other cmbBoxes with titles on them loaded from the DB and they work fully, only this one doesn't.what should I look at?

I have an error that is during the query to a database ExecuteReader 'phase' of my program, i am assigning an .OleDbDataReader to a variable RetVal and then, i am giving this RetVal = Query.ExecuteReader, and then in the while the query is being read loop(While RetVal.Read) i am getting an error in runtime that is "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." I know this means i have to open the reader, but i don't know how to do this, as i have been using this process for a few weeks and haven't had this error pop up. (and i have managed to use the while loop)If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room

When I attempt to run a program I just finished coding I get the following message: "Error 1 Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types." I am using the following Recursive Directory Copy code, and am having a strange issue. I am using this to copy and directory and all subdirectories and files to removable media (flash drive). Everything copies perfectly fine except for 1 file. this occurs on the same file every time and sometimes the file copies successfully, but other times it does not.The problem file is a 7-zip archive with a .7z file extension.When it does not successfully copy, the file is only 8 bytes on the flash drive.[code]

vb 2008 compared to 2003 is the ability to drag controls onto the web form and place them where I want.With 2008, the form places the control to the left and I have to tab, space, set-up tables or similar techniques to get the control exactly where i want it. Is there a way to make the web form in 2008 work like the one in 2003?Other then this one oversight, I enjoy all other aspects of vb 2008.

I got multithreaded scraper and it laggs alot and sometimes it freezes totally.
It works like this. Start Scraping -> Url List -> Scrape -> Add info to datagridview -> Verify info.
Im using threadpool on it. Any tips to make it lag free? What causes it, what I should not do etc?
