Automatic Build With Source Control Monitoring

I am using SourceSafe 2005, and I have a project in VB.NET Framework 4.What I want is a way to automate the build process and hopefully integrate easy deployment. I'd like to be able to send an automated notification when a build is made that lists the comments of the SourceSafe check-in's in the body of the message.I've looked at a few options and some of them are confusing. I've seen it implemented with SVN, nAnt and CruiseControl, but it looks like it might take ages to set up being a novice of the aforementioned technologies.What would be the easiest way to set something like this up in your opinion? If I have to start using SVN for this, then that would also be a possibility.

a simple question. Given the following code:

Private WithEvents pPerClass As PersistableClass
Public Overridable Property PerClass() As PersistableClass

the first being a duplication of the second key, strangely obtained from a private field.
If you remove the WithEvents keyword, the pPerClass_PersistableClassID key is not created.
I am new to EF but it seems to me a strange behaviour.

Suppose that I have more than one List (L1,L2,L3,L4) of instances of a class [code]Now I want to querry the 4 lists with one call like Dim L= (from P as MyClass in (L1,L2,L3,L4) where p.Datetime> XXXXX order by p.datetime select p).tolist..is it possible to do something like that? I Know that I could do a FOR NEXT loop with each list but i am looking for a way to do this with a single call

"Automatic Image-scroller". The scenario is quite simple. I've got one single picture, and it should move up and when it moves out of frame, the same picture would appear beneath itself and continue to move up. Kind of a loop.The problem is that i haven't got a single clue how to make it in code-behind nor XAML, but it has to written in "code-behind" cause of the things i'm hooking it up with.

I can't see any problem in the code and what it should do is trigger an animation depending on the status of a service (spooler service in this case). It may be because I am manually referencing to the System.ServiceProcess namespace, which is not available in WPF framework by default, but I'm not sure.

I have an Inherited Control with a Property that can be set in the designer. There's some code in the Set procedure to make sure it's set appropriately. However when I build or run the project that property is changed, I am assuming it's the sanity check code in the Set procedure that's causing it to be changed along with some VS beahviour. I am writing a kiosk type application, in winforms (I know WPF would be better, this is just to be a rough and ready solution until I've learnt WPF), using VB.Net (VS2008).I have a label on my form with the font set to Segoe UI, and at 120pt size (yes it's large, it's designed to be read from a distance on a 42" screen).The problem I have is that the automatic internal padding is pushing my text 60 pixels from the top of the control to the top of the text and 40 pixels from the left of the control to the left of the text - the label1.padding property is all at 0, so this is the default spacing of the control - it seems to be particularly bad with this font (but it's the font I want to use) and if I increase the font size, this issue gets even worse.
I want my text to fit tightly into the boundaries of my control top, bottom and left (I want the right to expand depending on the length of the string in it, though). How can I achieve this (so that I can control all of the paddding myself using the label.padding property) and get rid of this automatic padding?

First: I have a numericUpDown and a class that are bound.

I have to click outside the numericUpDown to force validation and force syncing. This is very counterintuitive and will cause problems. How can I make sure the underlying data object gets the new value on valuechange rather than validate?
Second: After I change the numericUpDown I have an option that serializes the underlying data in an xml file. The underlying XML file does not always get the right data. Our Dev Team has heterogeneous OS systems, scattered between 32-bit and 64-bit. This is not ideal, we are actually planning to homogenize our infrastructure, but in the meantime we have to deal with it.The issue is that when a 32-bit developer checks out a 64-bit solution on SVN, he has to manually change the target platforms all over again to get it compiled (not to mention other side problems)
My question is : What clean (though temporary) solution could be addressed in such situation, permitting each developer to keep his default project/platform settings while checking out and in from SVN.I guess that -at least for the first time a project/solution is checked out, a dev still has to tweak the setting manually to compile it properly. After that, according to relevant SVN filters, it is possible to ignore some settings files (which ones, by the way?)

How can i control the printers paper source?
Im printing a document but i want the user to only be able to print from the Manual feed tray on a HP 2055dn printer.
i currently have ths code in place but is anyone able to tell me if it would work or not.
i was using a print dialogue box but changed my mind as i just want to print the document as soon as the button is pressed.

I'm looking to move all my code into the cloud using some sort of source control service. It must first be able to integrate with Visual Studio 2008 and 2010, and possibly other environments. Meaning something that's fairly popular among different development environments. The only source control I'm familiar with is VSS, but I think it's time to move away from that. I also prefer a free service. I know that there are only code repository services that are free, but I just don't know how that integrates with Visual Studio and source control.
