Change Default Excel Program?

I have Excel 2003 and 2007 loaded on my computer. When I open an Excel file, it is defaulting to 2003. How do I check to see what the default program is for opening xls files and change this to 2007 in my code? I have already done the following manually:
1-Open My Computer
2-Go to Tools --Folder options
3-Click the File Types tab
4-Scroll down to the XLS file type and highlight it

However I am not convince that its defaulting to Excel 2007 when I run projects in VB as I am seeing the "File Conversion" prompt when file are open.

How to change the default encoding of assembly in VS2008?
I have upgraded vb.net windows (VS2003) to VS-2008.
Whenever I re-builds the project,it is changing the assembly encoding to Windows-1252,which is not running my application.
I have to manual set this encoding to UTF-8,which runs the application.[code]...

Is there anyway to change the default appdata program folder?
i have a class to serialize my settings, and i just want to save them to:
appdata/roaming/[programname]/settings.xml
but when i use the filesystem.specialdirectories.currentuserappdata(something like that) it give me appdata/roaming/[company]/[programName]/[Version]/
i don't want any of that extra stuff, especially since new versions won't be able to access the old settings.

I'm trying to copy a Range from Excel and Paste the information in powerpoint in either the HTML or the default format, however, I am having some difficulties. I am able to get the code to work for pasting the Range as an OLE Object but nothing else. The problem with doing this is that having the embedded excel documents in the powerpoint makes the file extremely large and unstable. I just need to be able to paste the information without the embedded information where it is editable (so, not as a bitmap or picture).

I am trying to display an excel spreadsheet on a page using datagrid, but for some reason it is filtering out some of the cells, leaving a blank space instead. Also, the "$" sign won't show up in most of the columns.Could someone please take a look at my site and file, and give a suggestion as to why this would be happening? I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting on it, with no success.

I am throwing some data out into Excel and am having some formatting troubles. I have 5 columns (date, time, a long number I don't want displayed in scientific notation - text is fine, text, text). I can get it all working with numberformat, however I have to do them different ways.
Date works this way cell.numberformat = "m/d/yy" and it formats it to say 3/1/11
Time works this way cell.numberformat = "h:mm AM/PM" and it formats it to say 8:07 AM
For the long number cell.numberformat = "@" and it doesn't change the format and it gets displayed in scientific notation
BUT if I use cell.style.numberformat = "@" it works as it should, but it messes up all of the date and time cells. Apparently when you use style.numberformat, it doesn't just apply to the cell you're working with. If I try using style.numberformat with the date and time formats, they don't change and are entered as if I didn't change the format at all.

The MaskedEditExtender control that I am using is set up for a MaskType="DateTime" and the AcceptAMPM="true" but I need to know how a user can change the am/pm without having to type in A for AM and P for PM? Is there a way I can add arrows or something to this control so that it is more user-friendly when changing from AM to PM? My users aren't going to know that they need to type out the value for it to change.

I have a vb.net app that uses PrintPreviewDialog to print a document. Now I want the user to be able to print to any printer on the network. So, I created a listbox of available printers which works fine. Now, I need to either change the windows default printer to the one selected, or make the PrintPreviewDialog use that printer name.

I am using VB 2010. The default font for forms is Sans with a size of 7.8. Is there a way I can change the default font to something else. I do not see this choice in the options section of the tools menu.

I don't know what this is called or I'd search for it since I'm sure it's been discussed. How do you pick a form as the default form that opens when you start debugging? As in, I have a form I want to debug but when I click debug, a different one opens with no means of getting to the other forms.

I am inheriting my own DataGridView (say MyDataGridView) from the standard DataGridView control. What I want is that certain properties of MyDataGridView should have a different default value than what its base have. For example, AllowUserToAddRows, AllowUserToDeleteRows, AllowUserToResizeRows properties should have the default values of False; so that when I drag MyDataGridView into a form in the IDE, the default values shown in the properties grid should be False. Later on, if I want to change them to True from the grid, they will be set accordingly.

i have developed a program on Visual Studio.Net 2005, also i have deployed the program and got a shortcut icon on desktop which is fine but when i go to C:\program files\[MyProject]\MyProject.exe, the ,exe file has the default icon, i want to change that default icon to the custom icon. Is it possible to change the default properties for different objects in the VB6 IDE (I'm sure any version would be similar, but this is the one we are currently using in my programming class in school). For example, is there anyway that automatically, when I create a Label, that it could already have AutoSize set to false, and BorderStyle to Fixed3D, etc.? I feel as if it would work greatly with the amount of time taken to layout my programs.

Recently, I just helping my friend for developing game private server, in Game Client there are 3 application is needed, its is a patcher, launcher, and main exe, my friend use open source (C++ language) application for the patcher, the patcher is work nicely, and the launcher is program that launch main exe, its using launcher because main exe is need some argument to run, the launcher is created by me.The problem is the user can be run game directly without opening the patcher, so I want to change default command line (usually "0" / "1") in launcher to 3, and I have the trap if user open directly the launcher
