I am new in VB2008. How I can programmtically delete/remove/clear the content of a cell of DataGridView? Say, for example, I have the following code that populates with data in DataGridView. Now,how can I clear/delete the "Test4" text from the cell of DataGridView? The GridView is not bound to any database.

My program parses chat room text. In the room there are smileys that get displayed. What I'm trying to do is parse out the image URL, download the image and put the smiley in the correct spot between the text of the message.I can do the parsing and downloading of the image into the datagridview but this only works of the column is set as an image column. Obviously due to the nature of the program I need to be able to put both text and images into the same cell. How can I do this?
i have a column item-code, inside my database which i have bound to a datagrid view. The item-code comes in this format "A-B-C", i wish only to show the "B" part of the code, i have bound this column to the gridview and now wish to make it show the substring. By default, the DataGridView padding (.ColumnHeadersDefaultCellStyle.Padding and .DefaultCellStyle.Padding) is set to 0 (zero). However, when you run the application and look at what's in the DataGridView control, there is default padding of 3 pixels (Left) in the data cells and a default padding of 7 pixels (also Left) in the header cells. I don't seem to have any control over these 3 and 7 pixel offsets. For Top, Bottom, and Right, there are similar or greater pixel offsets that I also don't seem to have access to. I want to be able to specify exactly the pixel offset I want, assuming a default pixel offset of 0 (not 3 and 7).

I have a form that contains a datagridview control that is bound to a dataset in design mode. This form contains various other textboxes and combobox controls as well and allows users to create and view Work Orders. It also has a Button control ("New W/O"), that when pressed will clear all values from all the controls on the form. My problem is that it's not removing the rows of data in the dgv. I have a DataGridView with several columns. One column is a TextBox column named "Status". This column can only show one of three values: 'Final', 'Ready', or 'No Reportable'. I want to have some code that would turn the TextBox cell into a ComboBox cell when the user left-clicks on the cell to allow the user to choose one of these three options. When the user clicks elsewhere or the cell loses focus I want the cell to change back to a TextBox cell.
Here is what I have so far, but the code throws an exception indicated below Plus, I don't think the code would remove the combobox when the cell loses focus.

How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.
I believe the following code, which clears/unchecks the checkbox in the "RowSelect" column, actually runs, but it runs VERY slowly. In testing I have approximately 2300 rows in my DataGridView:

The app appears to "hang" because this loop is taking so much time. When I hit the pause button, it always seems to freeze on the "dgvCell.Value = False" statement and when I hover over it the popup says "Property evaluation failed." Something is taking quite a long time or is interfering with this routine.
The problem is that if you never enter anything into a cell for a new row then that cell is never validated. This is a problem because I have columns that should not be null. I am doing the check in the row level validation and storing the information about which cells are empty that should not be empty. The row level validation works fine and the row level validation error indicator goes on,(red exclamation mark at the beginning of the row) but I also need a visual indicator on the individual cells that are in error.
I am thinking that setting the HasError property for the cells that are in error should cause them to display n error style (the default red border). Is there a way to this this either from XAML (perferably) or from code?Alternatively I could cause those cells to re-validate when the row editing is finished. Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm using something call ultragrid in my program.The program works as a mini-record keeping area (Like any datagrid, really). Well, I am adding a history to it and it allows the user to see the last 50 records searched. They get a grid showing the records. This, thus far, works perfectly What I want to do is this: I want to select a record (A cell) in the column 'Dog and have the text of that cell appear in a textbox. This is what I've tried with no success.

I tried searching for a solution, but couldn't find anything, so if I am re-asking a common question, don't beat me too badly. For a class, I have to create a form that allows someone to enter in the names of six students, as well as five test scores each. It also averages the scores, and displays them in a label.
What I am wondering is if there is a way to clear the text from all 36 text fields, as well as the 6 labels without having to do everything individually? I could certainly go through, and write out txtField1.text = String.Empty 36 times, but it seems there would be a more elegant solution. Also, if there is a way to do so, would the same would apply for putting the data entered into an array, or saving it to a file?
I have a combo box that is set to dropdownlist. After a user enters and saves the data, the data for all non-dropdownlist fields auto clears. How do I clear the data for this type of field? I have tried combobox.text = "" but that does not work. There are no data bound items with this combo box.
