Does anyone know how to highlight or change the color of text inside a datagridview cell? Not change the back or fore colors of the whole cell, but only for a particular word inside the cell. This is to make the search results more visible to the user.I tried doing it in the Cell_Formatting event of the datagridview but I'm only seeing options to change values of the entire cell (e.CellStyle). If there was only a way to select text inside the cell and set the selected text's properties. Or if I could use some formatting tags around the text.

Is there a way to detect whether text inside a textbox is highlighted from a user using a mouse either by double clicking or click and drag inside a textbox? I'm able to use the mouse doubleclick event as a way to detect the double clicking. However, i am stuck with click and drag to highlight for more than two characters.
I followed an example to add a custom control (multicolumnCombobox) to my datagridview.[code]Ok, this is fine and dandy, for it adds the custom control to column 2 and row X of that loop.... Now, when I actually use the control for lets say row 0, how do I get the row 0 cell 2 value to be the same as the custom control??I have no way to communicate between the custom control and the datagridview cell.
I have a datagridview and the user wishes to key some text in a text box and press a find button.The text to be looked for could exist in any columns in the grid (I want to exclude hidden columns).The search is to start at the row the user is currently at. If it gets to the bottom of the grid and still not found the the search would start from the first row of data.
If a match is found then the row with a matching value is to be highlighted.I've looked at using the position and find properties of my binding source but I think this will only let me find on one column and only from the top?Do I need to programmatically loop through the rows in the datagridview and search for the text or may there be a better method?

I am working on a page where I need to highlight different events in a day with different colors in a ASP.NET Calendar Cell. The events are store in a database with a start date column.
For example, if we have two different events for today, the cell should display half green and half red color. If there are three events for today, it would 1/3 green, 1/3 red, 1/3 blue in the cell for today.

My program parses chat room text. In the room there are smileys that get displayed. What I'm trying to do is parse out the image URL, download the image and put the smiley in the correct spot between the text of the message.I can do the parsing and downloading of the image into the datagridview but this only works of the column is set as an image column. By default, the DataGridView padding (.ColumnHeadersDefaultCellStyle.Padding and .DefaultCellStyle.Padding) is set to 0 (zero). However, when you run the application and look at what's in the DataGridView control, there is default padding of 3 pixels (Left) in the data cells and a default padding of 7 pixels (also Left) in the header cells. I don't seem to have any control over these 3 and 7 pixel offsets. For Top, Bottom, and Right, there are similar or greater pixel offsets that I also don't seem to have access to. I want to be able to specify exactly the pixel offset I want, assuming a default pixel offset of 0 (not 3 and 7).

I have a DataGridView with several columns. One column is a TextBox column named "Status". This column can only show one of three values: 'Final', 'Ready', or 'No Reportable'. I want to have some code that would turn the TextBox cell into a ComboBox cell when the user left-clicks on the cell to allow the user to choose one of these three options. When the user clicks elsewhere or the cell loses focus I want the cell to change back to a TextBox cell.
Here is what I have so far, but the code throws an exception indicated below Plus, I don't think the code would remove the combobox when the cell loses focus.

How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.
