View 11 RepliesI have a VB.net 2005 project MyProject.exe which is referring to a strong named dll ReferenceDll1.dll in its references. The ReferenceDll1.dll is referred as Specific Version=False. The version on the strong named reference ReferenceDll1.dll was 1.0.1.2 when I compiled my project. Few days later, I got updated ReferenceDll1.dll as 1.0.1.3. Replacing this dll in the install directory fires following exception.
System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'ReferenceDll1, Version=1.0.1.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0242eaa067ef8af5' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

I have a DataTable that's constantly being updated with new data from my database via a timer. That data is eventually reformatted and displayed in a DataGridView control.In an effort to prevent the DataGridView from completely refreshing from re-databinding (thus, clearing out selections, resetting scrollbars, defaulting sorting settings, and making the gridview flash as it reupdates), I'm simply removing old rows from the datagrid that no longer exist in the DataTable, and adding new rows to the datagrid that appear in the DataTable since the last update.
For the sake of simplicity, we'll call DataGridView the LEFT table, and DataTable the RIGHT table I'm looking for a way to go through both tables (LEFT and RIGHT), and remove old rows that are no longer in RIGHT and delete them from LEFT. And look for new items in RIGHT and add them to LEFT. Each table has a column called "RecID" containing a unique id for each entry that can be used for comparison. is there a way to do this all in one loop? What I'm looking for, in pseudo code:
<loop through everything>
if RecID does not exist in LEFT but exists in RIGHT
add new item to LEFT
if RecID does exist in LEFT but does not exist in RIGHT

I am looping through a list of DateTime variables and have got the .ToUniversalTime variable. I want to find out from the list which is the closest one approaching Now.ToUniversalTime but am having difficulty trying to work it out I had it looping through like this but this isn't much good as I only want to return the one that is the closest approaching to the system time. Is it possible to get the row index of a DataTable so that you can access the previous and next row? For example I have a DataTable that contains two columns ChapterTitle and PageURL. This is for a table of contents of a book. ChapterTitle is the chapter name and PageURL is an HTML page that contains the chapter (chaptername.html). When going into one chapter of the book I want to be able to tell which is the next and previous chapter.

I have been very stumped by this one. I have a fairly large (~1500 x ~1000) DataTable of positive and negative integers only that I acquired from a .csv file. For my program, I need to find the maximum value of the entire table, not just in a single row or column. Optimally, the code would be short and sweet, but that's not always the case ;).
The name of my DataTable is BeamMap and I am trying to return a value of MaxValue (already declared as an integer). I can post the code I have for creating the DataTable upon request.

Is there a way to quickly find the location (ie., row,column) of said maximum value? So far, all of the examples I've seen check cell by cell for a predetermined value, which is rather inefficient for the number of data points that I have.

I am trying to program a noise reduction algorithm that works with a set of datapoints in a VB.NET DataTable after being helped with my other question. Basically, I want to take two integers, a coordinate value (yCoord for example) and a threshold smoothing value (NoiseThresh), and take the average of the values in the range of (yCoord - NoiseThresh, yCoord + NoiseThresh) and store that number into an array. I'd repeat that process for each column (in this example) and end up with a one-dimensional array of average values. My questions are:
1) Did anything I just say make any sense ;), and
2) Can anyone help me with the code? I've got very little experience working with databases.

If want to do a DataView.Find on a DataTable that is already 'ORDERED' by the Column I am seaching, so a DataView.SORT should not be necessary, but it throws an Exception if I don't give a .sort command before the .find command. Is there any way to avoid this apparant duplication ? and speed up the search time. Its a very large table - 1 million rows. I am using VB 2010
