Trying to create a program that accepts a square array size 4 by 4. Then it should print the totals of the rows and columns. I started with a form and made text boxes and created a print button. I made it so that numbers can be input into the boxes. When hitting the print button, it should print the totals of what was input, however, it isn't doing that. Is there a different way to write the array code so that it will print it? Should i not have text boxes but rather have labels with fixed numbers set in them?

Whenever a specific button is clicked, I am trying to collect data and store it in the respective struct and so for example, if button 1 is clicked then I will store the data associated with button 1 into BtnStruct(0). The position of the button is stored in a public variable called BtnNum. If I attempt to store information in the struct inside another function as follows, I receive an error

I'm trying to create a function to parse out all values in a multidimensional Array with all but one dimension given. The details are not relevant, but for this function I need to return an one-dimensional Array containing values of the same type the original multidimensional Array has.To pass any Array with any dimension to my function, I declared the type of this parameter as Array. However, how would I create a new Array of that specific type (e.g. Integer)?Currently I have the following code:

Whats the font size real meaning? since when i use Arial font size 10 in the report its gonna take different space than the textbox im using (Both using exactly same font type/size/unit) its kinda if i set 10 milimiters to the font size why would the i and M for example have so diferent size.
i wish it was like in the Notepad where all the letters take the same space. what i need its to give a certain texbox(in the report) with auto grow to have always the same lines of height but its not posible to calculate it from vb b4 being inputed to the report.

What is the maximum size of a multidimensional array in VB.NET (in my case two-dimensional)? The total size limit of an array varies, based on your operating system and how much memory is available. However, I am trying to use an array of data type single, with dimensions 64513 by 301 but Visual Studio seems to freeze when I execute the line to redimension the array ( Redim myArray(64513, 301) ). I have 4Gb of RAM and am using Windows XP (32-bit).

View 2 RepliesI recently downloaded VB 2010 Express so i am quite new to the language, but i have worked with dark basic, which seems to b very similar.Anyway, my problem is that i cannot seem to correctly set out my array of a custom type/class. i am trying to create two arrays, one of available entities and another of selected entities of which the user selects the entities to be dealt with in irrelevant ways. i have creates a button (called test) which adds some entities to the available list and all the entities come back the same value but they shouldnt be as you'll c in the code. i have run the step into command a found that "available.item(#).Name = " will change all of the entity's names.As of current i am working with lists as the array kept asking for a 'new' statement but i couldnt figure out where to put it.[code]

So my app loads the data in chunks of 1024 bytes and then stops when there is no data to read. My question is, is it possible to keep increasing the size of a byte array as the data is being received?

I think it's good so far except I'm just learning about arrays and dynamic arrays, so how will I know what the size of the index will be so I can specify when the Do loop should stop so I don't get an indexoutofrange exception?

So, if I run it as such, it errors out while calling SetParameters saying
The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))
If I comment out the line m_Parameters.SProperties = New S_Properties(9) {...}, then it does not error out, however the function returns 0, which means it did not actually set the parameters to the device. Trying to ReDim SParameters(9) will also give the hresult error. Doing it with my example above, I put a watch on m_Parameters in both VB6 and VB.net and they look IDENTICAL. All data is the same. Why would I get this ArgumentException in VB.NET and not in VB6 when I am passing in the exact same arguments as in VB6?
I'm attempting to get the size of a bunch of files located in a directory with an array. Using a single file, it works great. But as an array, I get an error. This is the code I was using:

It works... kind of. It adds each file to the ListView, when I just want the whole sum. I was hoping I could just use "DirectoryInfo" from the System.IO namespace, but everything I've been reading says I need to loop through the files.
