I need to create a class to control a texbox.Basically a keypress event but in a class.
I have a textbox on my form. This is a textbox for the postcode. The postcode is supposed be something along the lines of AA 1234.Not sure if its possible, but i want this to be checked on lostfocus.
I honestly got no idea how to get it to work in a class, or to link it to the textbox.
I'm trying to use it in writing VB.NET Windows Form code.So I'm thinking, instead of using a VB.NET module, or having code embedded in the forms, I should create my own "Control" Class, to handle all operations and "application" level variables. Is this the right approach?Ex:
Private Sub frmLogin_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load goControl = New MyControlClass() goControl.sUserID = txtUser.text[code]....
im trying to access a richtextbox from another class and thread then the ui and i cant seem to get it working. I currently have the sub thats handling the the work inside of a public class and its a sharedsub, im going to be calling it from several different classes and threads but again i cant seem to get it working. the code looks like this. Public Class SharedSubs
[code]...
i would be calling sub using SharedSubs.Console("stringstring") when this is called from the ui thread it works fine but when its called from anyother thread or class its does nothing, ive confirmed it going thru this code but its not displaying anything in the textbox and its not thru an exception due to delegates either which i figured it would.
Is there a (simple) way to connect a textbox, label etc. to a property in a class?I have a project with a complex series of dialogs to enter data into a list of a costum class describing an experiment with many parameters that are stored as properties (both simple variables such as strings and integers, but also more complex ones).I need both to be able to update the list of my experiment class, but also to go the other way to populate the dialogs from the class. It can of course be done outside the class and the dialogs in separate subroutines. This however, quicly becomes unmanagable and hard to maintain as the dialogs and experiment class is expanded with new elements. If there was a simple way to connect say a textbox or label in a dialog with the appropriate property holding the information it would make it much easier.
Is it possible to create a user control with a list of custom class type property? If it is, how can I? The issue is that, in designer mode the property is not displayed in property window. I can add the list on markup but when i switch to the designer mode it gives an error which is 'The user control does not have a public property named BookList'.
I've been creating short test apps repeatedly to try to understand some of the concepts in VB.NET.For the most part it has been illuminating.I read Bucky's .NET knowlegebase tutorial on passing objects as parameters to newly created forms. He shows how to create a new class that inherits from the base form class and define a New() method with parameters Extending the concept I thought about doing the same thing with a form that was created at design-time (In this case Form2).
I want to read a number of items from a file and then associate each of those items with a new button at run-time, so that when the user clicks one of the buttons I can display some information about that item. Can I use a LIST to manage these buttons and items? Can I create a new class and have each list item of that class, such as 'btnID', 'btnText', etc... ?
Imports System.Threading Public Class TestClass Private myClassThread As New Thread(AddressOf StartMyClassThread)
[code]....
The result:Application runs, no errors or exceptions.Displayed is the listbox and the Start button.I press the start button and a msgbox says "Not Invoked" as expected and upon clicking OK to that msgbox "Start Button Pressed" is added to the Output listbox control.Immediately following that the msgbox pops up again and says "Not Invoked". I was expecting "Invoked" as a separate thread is trying to use the Output listbox control.Of course this results in the Output.Items.Add being attempted which results in no visible result as the thread is not allowed to directly update the UI control.
I am searching for the Component Class. When I go to "Add New Item" ,in my project their is no Component Class Item in VS 2008. I would like to Drag and Drop control onto my new class and I can't see how to do this ?
I want to create a class that will "search" for something. Basically I load up the "search item" when the class is created and inside the class is logic to do the "search". The result of this logic will be more "searches" that I want to start. How can I have the logic in the class create another instance of the class itself?
I Need Build a user control which works as a Login control using Windows Class Library or Component Template:The user control returns the user name and the password It means that the control has minimum two ReadOnly Property procedures. You let the user of your control (he/she which uses your control in his/her software) to set the background colour of the two labels. Create a Windows application to test your control.
I tried it and get an error but maybe I'm tring the wrong way. Can a usercontrol inherate an application defined class ie.. could you inheritance a classic rect class into a user control to add the hight and width properties to the control without having to do all the coding all over again? Currently I just declair a private instance of the class within the control and then encapsalate. It would be nice if I could just inherit all the functionality of my classes into controls designed to implament the classes.
I'm in the process of trying to create a class that will allow me to create windows shortcut; Im using the following PDF file that gives me the shortcut file structure.
Ive been able to successfully load a shortcut file and parse its Lnk File Structure but now Im on the Shell Item ID List structure but I cannot find the Structure of the ITEMIDLIST anywhere
Furthermore I know I could use the Windows script object, but this is a dependency Im trying to avoid if I can, hence writing my own Shortcut class.
I'm try to create a class has been create by main class only by protect sub New but how do I create it ?

I have a lot of control array textboxes called txt(1) to txt(320) on form2. I have a textbox1 on form1 with a click evet that says textbox1.text= form2.txt(1).text but it gives an error (txt is not a member of form2). I tried disabling option explicit, option strick and option infer. Still won't work. My code is to long for this place maybe a short version osf the code. Do I need to make a Public MyArray(15,15,15,15) as string, in the Module1 then copy txt(n).text to the array or is there a way to access txt(n).
Public Class Form2 DPrivate Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Loadim txtBox(340) As TextBox

I'm developing a program with a team in Visual Basic 2010.

I am using .ocx in my project. I made some changes into .ocx. and compiled it. Afterthat I unregistered the old one and register the new .ocx. I changed reference from my project as well. This .ocx is related to display of new form so whenever i m trying to load new form it taking to much time. In .log file of my project i m getting error "control XXX was not a loaded control class"
It seems like its not finding the correct .ocx at the beginning. But afterthat it works fine but very slow.

Right now the textbox has no caption so i can not just use vbnullstring for the class since i have no caption for the textbox. Is there any settings in VB.net 2008 that will allow me to change class names?
I want to share this tutorial for others so that we also an idea what they are suggest. This simple line of codes and Screenshot determines the invalid type required in textbox. I created my own class to control the invalid typing of data required in textbox. Example, the textbox required only a data that accepts all string input and if the user's prompt to input the numeric value, invalid message display that the field required only text input. Here is the site, just click
I used to do my coding without classes until the last few months and my best friends was my functions now when i started working with the .NET language I can understand how important it is to use classes, I can appreciate its values and and its many pluses.BUT I'm still not sure when it's time to create class for a certain task or start creating bunch of functions to handle my target.
