Create Sub Signature With Multiple Optional Arguments?
Oct 8, 2010
Is it possible to create a sub signature with multiple optional arguments.Private Sub TestProcs(ByVal sentotal As Integer, Optional ByVal stext1 As String = "",Optional ByVal stext2 As String = "",...,Optional ByVal stextn As String = "")
I have a method written in VB.NET. It looks like this:
Shared Sub SomeMethod(ByVal Id As Guid, Optional ByVal str1 As String = "foo", Optional ByVal str2 As String = "")
I want to call this method from C# 3.0 and I want it to use its default arguments. I tried passing System.Reflection.Missing.Value, but I cannot cast it as String. Is there any way to do that?
I'm planning on using the Smart Device Framework 2.3 to use the signature control panel in a Windows Mobile 5 application using the compact framework 3.5.
The control has the option to save the signature as either a byte array of points, or as a bitmap. Now seeing as I want to store the signature in a sql compact database, I guess the byte array is going to be better. The trouble is, I'm not sure how to render that in a full WinForms application after I've transferred it back to the desktop.
I need to show the signature on a report, so it would need to be an image I could link/embed into the report.
I am trying to create a signature from a private key that i have been provided and a hashed value. I am using DSA and the following code but receive the following error:
Invalid type specified. source mscorlib
The error is thrown on this line: ImportCspBlob(pk)
Private Function key() As String Dim privatekey As String = "-----BEGIN DSA PRIVATE KEY-----" _ & "Key Data"
for the past >8 years i was doing VB / VB.Net work now I'm jumping into C# world, so far it's very easy only thing that I find difficult is the fact that the signature of every events on object are not automatically created for me.I'm used to select the object name in the left dropdown in the code view and then the event that I want in the right dropdown.is there something similar to that in C#? if yes where can i find it, I really wish I don't have to write them by hand...
I need to create a windows app for tablet to get signature.VS2008 do not have any control for it.Does vs2010 have this kind of control so that user can use pen to create signature in tablet?
I have a function that has an optional dictionary argument. Since it's optional, it needs a default value, and I'd like to set it to an empty dictionary instead of Nothing. How do I go about that?
how can i capture a signature from an Electronic Signature Pad and store it in database. is there any particular api or it can be captured just like capturing an image from a WebCam. Is it manufacturer specific?
How to call exe with multiple arguments from VB.Net Source. Now, I can call exe file with mmyProcess.StartInfo.FileName ="....exe" and pass parameters with myProcess.StartInfo.Arguments but i can't pass multiple parameters with it.
I'm using this code to load multiple files using windows context menu, but the problem is that the aplication is open many times as files the user has selected. For example: If I select 14 files, an open them with the application, the aplicacion is opened 14 times and load the form only one. But there is a way to send all arguments once? Because %1 send only one file, or there is for example a %2 that send all file pats in one argument? If there is I'vent found.
This my actual code:
Public Class Program Public Shared Sub Main() Dim FurBase As New Core.clsDatabase
I was trying to use a GetAsyncKeyState code but each time I run the program an error occers where
[Code]....
'A call to PInvoke function 'WindowsApplication1!WindowsApplication1.Form1::GetAsyncKeyState' has unbalanced the stack. This is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature. Check that the calling convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target unmanaged signature.' The full code is in timer with (1) time interval
I have a program that works when, a file is opened with it using the right click menu in explorer. But if I select multiple files and then right click and open with my program then it opens multiple instances of my program, instead of just passing the multiple files as arguments to a single instance. The program is written in vb.net but is not a windows form, it is just a module, so I can to tick the Single instance option in the properties in Visual Studio. So how do I open multiple files from explorer context menu in a single instance.
Using this code I can create a shortcut to my application,
Dim shell As New WshShell Dim shortcut As WshShortcut = shell.CreateShortcut(My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories.Desktop & "Link To My Application.lnk") shortcut.TargetPath = Application.ExecutablePath
[code]....
But how can I create a shortcut with arguments. If i put the arguments in the shortcut.TargetPath i get a error.
Is it possible to pass multiple arguments to a delegate method from a list(Of T).ForEach call? So, I'd like to pass a listbox object to the delegate routine below:
Sub test() Dim names As New List(Of String) names.Add("Bruce") names.Add("Alfred")
I didn't write the function for the AutoCompleteExtender so I am not quite sure how to change it without screwing it up, so I figured I would ask here. Recently, it was requested that the AutoComplete show a product name & the date of launch of that specific product. I do not know how to add the date to the AutoComplete.
I am trying to have an optional Date value in one of my sub but since you cant set Date to nothing, this doesn't work. And i cant set it to the Date.minvalue inline.
Private Sub abc (ByVal A As String, Optional ByVal B As Date = Nothing) End Sub
So, i went and set it to some date in the past.
Private Sub abc (ByVal A As String, Optional ByVal B As Date = #1/1/2001#) End Sub
what would be the proper way to handle the default value for an optional Date?
I have an application that can read certain types of files, and I have it working so that if you do "open with" from windows, it automatically starts the application and opens the selected file.
Unfortnately, I cannot get it to work for more than one file.
System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs() contrains the following: System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(0) = name and path to the .exe System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(1) = name and path to the first file selected to be opened
System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs().Length is 2 when the user tries to open 1 file, which makes sense since the first argument is the .exe itself and the 2nd is the path to the file, but it does not increase to 3 if the user tries to open 2 files... meaning that System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(2) is never populated Here is some sample code that shows the problem: It will recognize no files or 1 file being opened, but if you try to open multiple it will only show the first.
If I have a large number of classes, each similar to the other in certain aspects (they all share a common base class, but each does things differently), and I need to create Windows forms for each to allow easy changing of their values through a GUI? Create one matching form for each object in VS' forms designer, Or Use code to create the forms dynamically at runtime.
#2 makes the most sense to me, because a lot of these objects will share very common features of the form, notably "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. But one object might need to draw a textbox on the form while another might need to draw a combobox. Not to mention, if I want to put icons on the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons, I'd have to do this for each copy of the form in designer, and that sounds like it could get out of hand quickly. But is drawing forms through code sane? VS' forms designer is pretty sophisticated and designed to make life easier. Am I wise to consider ignoring its functionality and diving into the trench warfare of forms design through code? Or are there examples of automating form creation based on an existing object's properties?
I've tried everything here, but the Amazon Load Balancer API just will not accept my signature.
Whatever I try, I get a "403 SignatureDoesNotMatch" response. I'm probably missing something obvious, but having spent hours trying to figure out what that is, I'm at the end of my tether.
Here's my code:
Public Sub DeregisterInstanceFromLoadBalance(ByVal strServerID As String) Dim strURL As String strURL = "http://elasticloadbalancing.amazonaws.com/?"
I'm trying to convert come vb.net code into C# from another programmers old work but came across optional in one of the functions.[code]...
It seems like instead of using overloading, VB.Net has an option to create it into one method/function. Does C# have a similar equilvalent or do I have to create a method for each possbility?
for few solutions it work outs well but not for the following code. I find an error when executing the following code. I find an error :
ErrorMethod 'Public Sub test()' does not have the same signature as delegate 'Delegate Sub DataRowChangeEventHandler(sender As Object, e As System.Data.DataRowChangeEventArgs)'.C:UsersKashifDocumentsVisual Studio
I've done the code above. But after i draw a signature on the picturebox and when the mouse leave the picture box, this error "Unable to cast object of type 'System.EventArgs' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs'."
I try to run my Authenticode signed app on a clean Vista PC (not internet connection available ever). I have a look in Internet Explorer if the root certificate (Trustcenter) is there, and it is not. I get the message that the reference could not be resolved, and when I click file properties and have a look at the certificate, it says "The certificate for the signature could not be confirmed". Is that a normal behaviour? I mean does the computer need to have the root certificate from Trustcenter installed?
I am making a tool in which I want a button to do the following job.e.g;A=(1,2,3) Signature Guide B=(1,2,4) File Signature In short I am making an antivirus, every thing is done, except "clean" button.I want that the clean button should do the following job.
read the file (B) signature and compare it with signature guide(A), if the file (B) signature is different from signature file (A) then repair the file changing its signature just like its present in signature guide..
if you are a constant answerer here on msdn, and do not have a unique signature, or no signature at all, please take a little time to create one... eason ..when quoting a post of a member, if no signature available, then it would have to be followed w/ "quoted from so and so's post", this so so said this, etc.
