How To Check All The Text Boxes Inside The GroupBox Control

Sep 8, 2011

Im working on a lay-away form application, this particular part is part of the even where the user adds a new customer, and has come to the section for adding personal references to the customers account. What Im trying to do is to check all the text boxes inside the GroupBox control, and then add all the tags of the text boxes that are empty to the list. If the list holds any records it will be put into a message box to let the user know he missed this value. But I want them to list in one text box. Here is what I've tried:[code...]

I get a conversion error, Cannot convert Prompt to String.

IDE :: GroupBox Inside TabControl Not Honor Anchor Settings

Dec 3, 2010

I updated a VS2008 vb.net application to VS2010 targeting the .Net 3.5 framework. This application has a windows form that contains a tab control. This tab control contains 6 tab pages. The tab control's tab pages contain group boxes. The group boxes have their anchor property set to Top, Bottom, Left and Right. The tab control's anchor property is also set to Top, Bottom, Left and Right.

When I open this form in VS2010 and resize the form, the tab control is automatically resized. The group boxes inside each tab page appear to automatically resize. If I close the form and immediately reopen it and click through each tab page; the first tab page's group box is resized, but each of the other tab pages's group box has not been resized.

I reported this issue through Microsoft Connect - [URL]. This worked in VS2003, VS2005, VS2008 but was broken in VS2010. I really want the behavior that existed in the previous versions of visual studio. Right now, I have to manually resize each individual group box every time I bring up the form in the designer.

Moving Labels Inside A Groupbox Using Vertical Scrollbar?

Jun 9, 2011

I have a load of information on my label in a groupbox on the form there is too much information to be seen in one go so i want to use a vertical scrollbar to move the label up and down inside the groupbox so it can be read.

The issue i'm having is:

1: The label covers the bottom edge of the groupbox (looks a little naff) i need it to fall inside the groupbox if possible.

2: Any movement on the vertical scrollbar seems to send the label in one direction only - so how do i work it so that up moves it up and down moves it down?

Should i use a multiline textbox rather than a label and move the carat?

VS 2008 Creating A Label/textbox Inside A Groupbox?

Oct 19, 2009

I've been struggling with something I imagined would be simple. My aim is to create a TextBox or Label with in a GroupBox using VB.net, yes I could use the Toolbox/Common Controls to do this easily, but it's a pain when planning on making more than just one or two of them

Here's my current coding to create the actual text box.

All that works perfectly, but how would I allow it to show up within a GroupBox?

Looping Through Controls In A Groupbox

I have recently started to try to convert some of the applications I have written in VBA in excel into stand alone programs. I don't have any formal programming training and I am learning the hard way that VB is really not very close to VBA!! I am trying to change the properties of radio buttons in a groupbox when a certain event occurs. In VBA I used this code:

I have a windows form with a groupBox and several controls ( textboxes, checkboxes, one grid, labels ) in the groupBox. Assign Controls In A GroupBox To A Thread?

Nov 27, 2010

1) Which one works better? BackgroundWorker or Multithreading?I have to do lots of processing in my application, I'm not too sure how the two of them works.

2) Can I assign controls in a GroupBox to a thread?Let's say I have to login to a certain forum twice with different accounts, so in GroupBox1 (thread1), I'll be logged in with username "asd", in GroupBox2 (thread2), I'll be logged in with username "zxc", and I have to do lots of processing (mostly html parsing) from there. Is this possible without stressing on memory usage? I'd like to keep my program memory usage under 10k.

VS 2008 Groupbox Controls Attaching To Each Other?

Apr 4, 2010

i have a list of links on a form and when you click one, it will set a specific groupx visible to true in a set position. So I have about 8 groupbopx control on this form. When I drag one out of the way and another in the form in design time, it seems they stay inside one another at times if they overlay. I don't understand this. Then some will not show at runtime depending where they arer left from design time even though I set the position to be in the form. This is completely different from vb6. Why are they staying inside other groupbox controls rather than being independent?

The only thing missing is to set the groupbox text/caption forecolor, but as soon as I do so programatically all controls in the groupbox inherits the font type and color making the text hard to read on the Button controls placed within the groupbox.

Delete The Assignment Inside Groupbox2?

Apr 20, 2009

I'm working on a program for keeping track of class assignments and have most of it worked out, however, my coding skills are rather lacking of knowledge beyond a basic if/then statement.there's a flowlayoutpanel with 40 groupboxes w/ various things in them, including a delete button.so my idea was if someone wanted to delete an assignment, they'd click a 'delete' button inside the groupbox. problem is, if the user had assignments lined up like

groupbox1
groupbox2
groupbox3
groupbox4

and they wanted to delete the assignment inside groupbox2 lets say, it'd need to make everything in groupbox3 and 4 move up...the way i thought to do this was to have the text and properties of the items in groupbox3 = the ones in groupbox2, gb4 = gb3 and gb4 gets a clean slate... so everything just moves up.coding for that was very inefficient as well .so my idea was that the 'deleted' item would instead get 'recycled' (so to speak)like this:

user deleted gb2 of 4

gb2 gets sent to the bottom of the flp and a clean slate (no information in it)

gb3, 4, 5.....so on till 40 automatically move up 1 spot in the flp

Access Controls Inside A FormView From The Code Behind?

Dec 18, 2010

I have a checkbox and a panel inside of a FormView control, and I need to access them from the code behind in order to use the checkbox to determine whether or not the panel is visible. This is the code that I originally used, but since I put the controls inside of the FormView, it no longer works.

Protected Sub checkGenEd_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As Object, _
ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
If checkGenEd.Checked = True Then

[Code]....

There aren't any errors anymore, but nothing happens when I click the checkbox. I think there needs to be some kind of event to trigger it but I don't know how you can put an event handler inside of an event handler.

Setting All Controls Inside A Panel To Visible?

Dec 30, 2009

But I don't know if i posted this at the right place. I am making 40 textboxes inside a panel. And this textboxes I set it to visible=FALSE. Then I have another textbox named txtNoteam in which once the user will enter a number in this txtbox which is less than or equal to 40, those textboxes will be set to true starting from textbox1 to textbox40 depending on the number entered by the user. Example: user enters 3, then textbox 1 to textbox 3 will be set to visible.

I was successful in doing this except one thing, instead of textbox 1 to textbox 3 will be set to visible, it's the textbox 38 to textbox 40 will be set first. This means it will start from the last textbox to the first textbox instead of from textbox1 to the last textbox.

I need your help on what should I do for this to be able to set it to visible from the 1st textbox to the last textbox or is there any other ways of doing this?
