I have a listview control connected to an SQL database, I have set up a datapager to limit the items shown on each page (3 per page). I have set the datapager to: visible=false and would like to know how to make the datapager change pages automatically every 5 seconds.

So the user never saw the form while it was importing..In the form's load event I create the thread and start it, but I get this large error:An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: ActiveX control '8856f961-340a-11d0-a96b-00c04fd705a2' cannot be instantiated because the current thread is not in a single-threaded apartment.

I have made a form1 with a webbrowser control on it. When the program is run it brings up the homepage (which is Google). However the homepage doesn't seem to fit inside the webbrowser control.
So I am hoping that someone could tell me how to make the (...I dunno how to ask this retarded question...) webpage fit completely (100%) inside the size of the webbrowser control. Meaning...I would like to see the entire webpage from the internet in the
size of the webbrowser control. To fill the entire size (whatever size I want).
Etc... if my webbrowser ontrol is seh, set to 600px by 400px, how can I program this so when it brings up the homepage (or any other page), it fills the entire size of the webbrowser control? Without any scrollbars. How to make the contents from the web
(or local) fill the size of the webbrowser - almost like a mini browser if you will.
I am after a property that makes a control (textbox, datagrid or other) move according to the forms size. Because some of the controls I got does that, and I really don't want it. I've been looking at them but could not find it
View 4 RepliesI'm writing a couple of custom controls in VB.Net 3.5, in VS2008, and would like to resize the font size based on the height of the control, and vice-versa. Is there any way of converting a font of say 38.25pts into a me.height, or the other way round?
I realise the font width will change dependent on the font used (which isn't an issue for my purposes), but as far as I know, the font height is usually consistent Accessibility/Large font settings won't be an issue with this application.

I have a problem with DataPager with ListView, I am using ASP.NET with VB.NET. I have searched for the answer, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Whenever I binded the data, the front page was okay, tried second page, still the same data, etc. Then I tried rebinding the data each time pager was changed, the listview dissapeared.

The code I have above works fine. However,when TotalRows of ListView lvComputer is more than 200, there are a lot of paging number on the page.I want to show paging number like something in the following format:
First Previous 1 2 3 ..... 9 10 11 Next Last
First Previous 5 6 7 8 ..... 13 14 15 16 Next Last
What do I need to do programmatically to modify the datapager to get the desired result like above example?
I have a standard ASP.Net DataPager with a standard ListView (using a DataTable as a data source). When I set PageSize="24" in the design code:

The paging works as advertised.
However, when I then change that in code, in the Page_Load, eg:

DataPager1.PageSize = 48
End Sub
The paging ceases to work completely, while the initial loaded data set is indeed 48 items.
I am using a datapager inside a nested Listview succesfully. When only one record of data is available the next previous last and first buttons are faded as per normal. However I would like them to not appear at all.
The aspx code I have is:

However the pager is always nothing in the debugger i.e it can't find the control.This may be because I have not selected the event handler correctly (I've tried several) or the method may be wrong.

The limit of an access database. Because I only know of manipulating access 2003 database with vb.net. And were going to make an information system for a small hospital for our project. Is ms access still usable for a hospital with over 2000 patients per year? some database if the ms access that I'm using no longer fits for our project.

I created setup file by setup project. I attached with mdf, ldf files in it , SO CAPACITY OF IT AFTER PACKING IS QUITE BIG.I want to reduce its capacity. How can i do that I see some other Setup projects which have attached with mdf ,ldf files but It is not big as SetUp file of me.

If I increase the capacity of a given list, or add elements until count>capacity, does this mean the program is actually copying the entire list's contents to a new space in memory (similar to redim preserve with arrays)? If so, than I have really been hurting the performance of my lists, as before I was inserting and adding without a second thought. This seems a strong restriction on the dynamic abilities of lists.

So I currently have a aspx page that shows details for any single staff member, and the page is setup with mostly ASP labels. I have a subroutine called "getstaffdata" that populates the page on load (via subroutine).
I would like to convert this to a page that shows details on one staff member, or many staff members, one after another. So I thought of using the repeater control, but I'm not sure how to convert the page over. The staff userids are passed via query string, but I'm just confused on how to do the datasource for the repeater control.

View 3 RepliesI have subclassed a control that would be vastly better if it was a certain size. At first, I thought I could simply set the height and width in the constructor. That would annoy people, as the control would be placed on the form at some size, and the size would then shift when the program starts, but it doesn't work anyways because the control constructor is called before the size properties are applied to it. Is there a way to fix the size of a control at design time? The only controls that I can think of that don't have the ability to be sized are pretty highly specialized.

message but that's not exactly what I want to do (unless I don't quite
understand and I'm happy for someone to explain).
I don't know in advance how many tabs there will be on a line, I just
want that each time the user hits the tab key, it moves the caret 4
spaces right rather than 8.
Is it possible to disable the dates that appear before todays date in a dateTimePicker control?I want to put in some validation so that my users can only select days in the future...ie a future appointment date?
