I have a small requirement in VB.NET and that is to fill an array with values retrieved from a table. That is I have a table called "user_roles" and that is having columns called "role_id" and "role_name". In the load event of the form, i want to execute a procedure and populate all the items (role_id) from the table "user_roles" into an array.
What I am trying to do is fill an array from the largest index to the smallest index -- with the desired effect of reversing the values in the array. I have been looking at doing it with 2 for...next loops and I thought I had it, but I don't. As the reversed array is empty at the end of the 2 for...next loops here is code that I have been playing around with.
Dim myIntArray() As Integer ReDim Preserve myIntArray(4) myIntArray(0) = 0 myIntArray(1) = 1 myIntArray(2) = 2 [Code] .....
I want to set an array upperbound limit to 50. I need a loop to create a random number and place it in the array until it reaches 50( I've set up the random generation part). My question is do I set the upperbound limit when I create the array and redim for each sample being added or set the limit somewhere else? I understand how to set up a basic array and how to redim arrays, but adding the loop to it is confusing me.[code]...
I have an array that is dinamic (0f course). I want to create a structure that can then accept values from the array. I want to use a loop (For Next) or Do While, but i am not sure of the Dinamic declaring of the structure variable or new parts.
Structure T_Results Dim PlayerName As String Dim RD1 As Integer
I am making my first windows forms application in VS2010 and I am having trouble with arrays. I have code that dim's an array 'TabSiteInfo(2,20)' as a string. Then, I have a Loop that adds records to the array. The problem is that my array is not filling values from the loop. I know VS2010 handles arrays differently, but I have this same code working fine for me in VS2008 ASP.NET application. Below is a sample of the code.
I have a small 10px by 10px image, and I want to use VB.NET to find out if that image is (an exact) part of a larger image.I thought a method of doing this would be to lock the bits of the larger image into memory and then loop through each pixel in the image and for each pixel, I could take the 10px by 10px section which is down and to the right of that pixel.. and then compare it to my smaller image.
This is the code I have so far:
'Lockbits of larger image to memory Dim bmp As New Bitmap(Image.FromFile(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory() & "picture.bmp")) Dim pxF As PixelFormat = PixelFormat.Format24bppRgb
[code]....
when I'm looping through the 10 by 10 section and I find the R G B bytes for each pixel, how do I store this in my rawImage array so I can convert it to a back bitmap and compare it with my original small 10by10 image?
I know you can make an array of button. But the buttons are already put on the web form in specific spots. I have the buttons named like- button1, button2, button3, button4, button5... Is there a way to use that in an array even though the buttons are designed from the start and not tied to an array from the start? I basically do not want to make a routine for each button and would like to use just 1 routine and add to the counter to update my access database[code]...
[code] i feel that it is a waste of code and should be shrunk down into some sort of loop. [code] i know i could easily leave it the way i originally had it, but i hate having wasted code!!
Using VB2010, I would like to create an array of buttons and a sub procedure that when I send the index number, I will be able to change the text on the specific button.
Dim myBtn as button={button1, button2, button3} private sub GetCaption (ByVal x as integer) myBtn(x).text="OK" 'If x=2 I should execute button3.text="OK"
[code]....
call GetCaption(2) 'Call the sub and change the text on button2 to say OK.How do I make it work?
I have a rather simple question - how do i delete an array of buttons (not reassigning different values, but removing the buttons and keeping the array for storage of other buttons). I haven't got a clue
is there a way to make an arry of buttons in vb.net in VB6.0 there is a prop of buttons name Index but not in VB.NET so if there is some way to do that,[code...]
I have a database with one table.I'd like to populate an array with the values in the table so that I can work with the data. How do I copy the data from the table to the array?I am able to view the data with a DataGridView but can't find any info on extracting the data to an array or variable.
I have some experience with VB6 and it was easy to do a control array for radio buttons such that btnSMP(0) and btnSMP(1) and btnSMP(2) were together and if user clicked on btnSMP(1) it was shown with the blck dot on it as selected. If one then changed mind (which seems to be a very common thing) then if user clicked on btnSMP(0) then it was selected and the other one was not. That is not possible in Visual Studio 2008 for what ever reason the higher ups decided. I have read a number of articles now in MSDN about how to duplicate that feature in VB.net code but it seems to be a lot of work and they add in many features I do not have a need of
Attaching code to buttons when they're clicked is easy when they're static buttons on the form; just double click the button on the form designer and add code to the event.
I have a series of buttons that are generated in a control array, so they're generated in a class, and in the form there are no buttons until runtime.
So newbie question with a probably simple answer...how do I enter code for the click event for buttons that aren't there until they're instantiated as a class at runtime?
In VB6 I could set up code to loop through say 10 option buttons to check their values. The code would be something likie this:[code]But in VB .NET it seems that if I use the Controls command as above I cannot use/check the Checked property as Control does not take that as a property of Control. It seems also that I may have to use the Find property of Control as in "Controls.Find" etc.How can I do this in VB .NET? I have a very control intensive application and I must be able to easily loop through controls and check their values without writing out 10 x the code required.
I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?
When I used to play wiith VB 5.0 I was able to create an array of comand buttons on the form. This allowed me to have one routine that knew which of many buttonshad been clicked and I could then take specific action based on which button was clicked. I can't see how to do this in VBE 8. Is this possible?
I am trying to build a battleship game. The project is giving me one minor difficulty (so far). I do not know how to create the game board made up of 100 buttons. I can obviously drag and drop 100 buttons onto the form but this lacks a certain style, it would also be a pain. How do I create a form covered with required array of buttons automatically?
I am fairly new to VisualBasic .NET (2008). I'm creating an application that, when a number is entered into the textbox, a new form window is created and populated with buttons. Each button starts the same command, but with a different parameter (the parameter being the pertinent record number found by the search).'The records are asset tag numbers. The procedure works fine if there is only one result. But the search allows for partial numbers and that's where the trouble begins. If two or more results are found, each button is configured with the last number found. The button being clicked doesn't tally with the proper ID number.[code]
What I didn't count on was that the event is only called when a button is clicked. When buttons are made, they are not assigned at that time.I've had problems trying to carry over the (current value) for pcArray(i), hence having it populate that form3_text field. When trying to add in a second object to be passed, I get the following error:"Method prtivate sub DynamicClick(sender as object, pcNameInfo as object, e as system.eventargs) does not have a signature compatible with delegate sub event handler with delegate 'delegate sub eventhandler(sender as object e as system.eventargs)."I tried manually entering a "Delegate sub eventhander" with the pcNameInfo object and VB 2008 ignores it.What can I do to get each newly made button to be told to run the RemoteIn(pcArray(i)) process properly?
i try to make an array of controls and by clicking buttons add new textboxes or comboboxes here is my code
Public Class Form1 Dim CArray() As Control Dim lngArrayNum As Long = 0
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Add_Control()End Sub Private Sub Add_Control(Optional ByVal intType As Integer = 0)
What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?
