VS 2008 Filling Array With Pixel Data And Turning It Into A Bitmap?

I have a small 10px by 10px image, and I want to use VB.NET to find out if that image is (an exact) part of a larger image.I thought a method of doing this would be to lock the bits of the larger image into memory and then loop through each pixel in the image and for each pixel, I could take the 10px by 10px section which is down and to the right of that pixel.. and then compare it to my smaller image.
This is the code I have so far:

Ok basically I want to select a point on a bitmap and then fill all of the color that is the same as the color at that point touching that color with a different color. If that sounds confusing, just think of the paint bucket tool in mspaint or photoshop. Currently I do this by starting with the point selected and then check all the points around it in an ever expanding box until at last no new contiguous points of the color to replace are found.The bad news: This is slow as heck =(I remember my windows 98 computer could handle this just fine with no noticeable delay. So I'm either missing something algorithmically (is there a better approach) or VB.net is just too slow to accomplish this without some sort of different approach/optimization.

As you can see, right now I just select the middle point as where I want to start filling from, and I fill with the color aquamarine. later I want to make this more flexible, but right now I just need this to be faster.
My general algorithm works like this:Start with a 3x3 pixel box with the first pixel (already changed to your new color, with the old color stored) as your start point.Check if each pixel is the color you stored (the one you're replacing) If it is, check if it's next to the new color you're replacing the old color with. If it is, replace it and increase the size of the box.The process ends when no new pixels are replaced.

I've got a function that's supposed to extract and return a 32x32px bitmap from a larger bitmap which has a set of 32x32 tiles inside it.
Here's the code I have now, but it's wrong since the Tile.GFX_Pos properties are telling it where in the destination image to draw, not where in the source image to draw from.

I have a bunch of PNG images in my project's resources. I need to find out whether the pixel at any X,Y is transparent or not. Testing the alpha of the color returned by GetPixel doesn't work, and I can't test it against the transparency key because Bitmap objects only have a MakeTransparent method, for some strange reason. Is there a way to tell?

I am trying to make an application that can do effects to images but the problem is when I use large photos its takes a very very long time. I am reading it per pixel with bitmap's GetPixel and SetPixel methods. Is there anyway to make this process faster without using C# or C++?

Basically, my program is supposed to display the list of students that have been entered. (Into a listbox.) Here's the AddStudent code (which works as far as I know)

I got a problem I need to search by First Name OR Surname. So the user can enter one or the other or BOTH.
So here's what I got I set two primary keys to try and find the row but I'm gettin all sorts of problems, for example when I set FirstName & Surname as primary key which you need to do to use the find method i get an error as it expects two values..

What I am trying to do is fill an array from the largest index to the smallest index -- with the desired effect of reversing the values in the array. I have been looking at doing it with 2 for...next loops and I thought I had it, but I don't. As the reversed array is empty at the end of the 2 for...next loops here is code that I have been playing around with.

I want to set an array upperbound limit to 50. I need a loop to create a random number and place it in the array until it reaches 50( I've set up the random generation part). My question is do I set the upperbound limit when I create the array and redim for each sample being added or set the limit somewhere else? I would like to load a GIF file, and start with the first pixel and check to see if that pixel color is closer to Black, Red, Green or Yellow, then take what ever color it closest matched to and output that color as a number, 0, 1, 2 or 3. I'm working on a program that has to get a set of images and then scan them to find pixels that match colors in an color array. Anyway I think I got everything working but how to load the images in as bitmaps. See the images are dynamic, they change there filenames so I can't call them with a static call like Dim bmp2 As New Bitmap("c:button.gif").
So I am using a loop to feed the images into an array for bitmap but thats not working, anyway that I can do this as, right now the program gets all the filenames for the images from a text file that is sent in to us. All I need to do is have the program check each image for pixels that match our color list. But I cant get the images into the bitmap array.

If I do the same thing in Paint it works OK. But if I open a .bmp file into Photoshop.Select All and Copy to put it on the clipboard. Then my code then reads the stream into a byte array and eventually makes a Bitmap from it.If I assign the bitmap to a background image it displays OK.But if I insert it into a RichTextBox using Khendys Gordon's method it does not display.However, I find if I clear the Clipboard before inserting it, it does display OK.I suspect the Bitmap is using the Clipboard for backing much like when and Image is created from a disk file.But it is confusing because I copy the stream into a byte array and make the Bitmap from the array. It would seem that once the values are copied into a new array the backing would not be in play any more.

I am making my first windows forms application in VS2010 and I am having trouble with arrays. I have code that dim's an array 'TabSiteInfo(2,20)' as a string.
