Form Is Partially Executed Before Form_Load Event

I have a problem concerning the Form_Loading event: When I want to load a new Form (ImageDisplay) the ImageDisplay_Load Event is not executed first.
Instead it runs through the global variables definitions and then executes a Private Sub called numericupdown1_changed.
The numericupdown1 field is part of the form I want to load and has not been touched.
That is my calling sequence:

The strange thing is that for other forms in my code it works well and starts with the form_load function.

I am having a problem in Form_Load. When the following code executes the form pops up with out executing any further code: Me.TblAssetsTableAdapter.Fill(Me.ITP400_IP3_ADataSet.tblAssets).
I am trying to use Form_Load to populate values in a ListBox control from an Access database table.It appears the problem was in the Compile settings. It was the 'old' problem of using AnyCPU on an x64 machine. I changed the Compile setting to x86 and the problem disappeared.

I have a form that I call from another form. Whenever I call it using form.showdialog() or form.show() the form appears, but it never executes the code that is in the form_load sub.
What's the deal? I call other forms in the same manner and they all load and execute the load code without issue.

I was under the impression that there was not much difference between Sub New() and Form_Load. However, I found one weird bug...Add a combobox and a label to a form, and the following code:
Public Class Form1
Private mstrOutput As String = ""[code].....
The label text shows that the value of ComboBox1.Text changes between Sub New() and Form_Load.Is this meant to happen?

I have a transparent layer on the top of a form. I need to display only some part of that transparent form.
-edited- If you think of a map and traffic signal icons displaying on the map. There are a map image layer and a traffic signal icons layer, which is tranparent except icons. if you move the map location, the traffic signal icons should move along with. if the certain area of map does not appear on the screen by moving, corresponding traffic signal icnos should disappear as well. This is what I am trying to do here. Moving the trasparent form is straightforward, but I need to hide some portion of that transparent form.

I added an image as the background image for a form in VB.net. When I run the program, after approx. 5-6 seconds, the image partially overlays itself, as in an offset overlay of the underlying image. I never had this problem in VB6, but I did have it the other time I used a background image on a form in VB.Net.

I have a service application that randomly stops without any errors in my log or in the event application log. I believe that there could be an unhandled exception somewhere in the code so I set up the AppDomain.Unhandled event to catch any exceptions. While trying to induce unhandled exceptions I have found that this event is not always fired. I added the following code to my service's Shared Sub Main method (but I orginally had it in the OnStart method and was seeing mostly the same thing)

I am developing a window application. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and Mysql Database. The problem is, only one form is getting executed when I try to debug.I have changed the startup form to other forms(from a list of existing forms), but still that same old form is getting executed, even if I delete that form or exclude it from the project, it still keeps on executing.
Where this form is stored?(I deleted it from the folder where all other forms exist)

I want to add some action to my form when it is closed by clicking on the "X" button in the upper right corner of the form.How is this done? I suspect that i must add a handler for some event, but which event is it?

The documentation for an API I am using explicitly says that I need to call close() on an object when I am done with it. I would also like to log something there.I understand GC, might not happen at expected time, etc. etc. I still want to implement some code at cleanup.I read that I need to Override Finalize() to do this.I wrote a console app to test and it looks like it indeed works.However, this does not work with windows forms. I have two data tables within my data set that are loaded onto my form on form_load using statements written in code (not the designer. When I change a value for the first table via a text box the change is made to the data set. But when I try the same for the second table, the change doesn't remain in the data set when I switch to a different company and come back. I query the second table using the primary key of the first table but no code is needed when I change the values for the first table so I don't understand why the same doesn't work for the second when I change a value via a data-bound text box....
Here is my code that initially binds the data:

I have a VB.NET application that I wish to store on a shared server. It is a GUI application that also calls a few external .dll's. I'm running into an error message that says "That Assembly Does Not Allow Partially Trusted Callers". I've seen several posts that mention I should add the following line to my AssemblyInfo.vb file:
<Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()>
This still doesn't seem to solve the problem. Anyone know what to do? I'm hoping to compile and store the .exe on the server for other users to access.

I decided to get rid of some of the junk in my computer, so I selected all the .tmp files and deleted (nearly) all of them. I then emptied the recycle bin... Then I set to work on trying to get some code to work (in an excel 2007 macro enabled workbook).
I now have two problems: 1) excel will not let me record a macro and 2) when I run one sub routine, excel tries to run every sub routine associated with the workbook.
other than removing and re-loading Office 2007? I'll try logging off and then logging on again - if that works, I'll let you know.
