Forms :: How To Call Unkown Function In Another Class Dynamically
Jan 20, 2012I've created a dialog which I'd like to popup from any function or sub in any class or form that I have in a project. It would nice to have it work exactly like a messagebox except it's got a progressbar and a cancel button on it. It's job is to display the progress of other functions so it should just stay open until I close it or the user selects cancel.Now I've found many of the basic examples on the net and have got the dialog working exactly as they have shown it. The trouble is that the examples are using a counter or thread.sleep which simply adds +1 in the DoWork sub. In other words, it validates that a worker thread can update a progressbar but it's a closed loop that only exists in the dialog's class.The examples don't show how to call an unkown function in another class dynamically, they're simply a hard coded 1+1 in DoWork. To me it's not a real world example because it doesn't show how to plug into the dialog or get a communication stream from other classes and functions that are running and wanting to increment the progressbar.[code]

The program then dynamically inserts a check boxes per subfolder within a seperate cell of a Table Layout Panel.I want to and a simple Click event to each checkbox control so that when a control is clicked, it counts all of the check boxes on the form that are checked.How do I go about adding the event handler to the checkboxes when they are created. Mar 21, 2011Going around in circles here. I have an Exit button (Barbuttonitem6) on my form and would like the FormClosing event to handle this. The code works fine for the FormClosing event but when i try to call the Formclosing event from Barbuttonitem6, it does not work (The form does not close if i choose Yes to save or No)

Then I created the proxy class for the Service1 Web Service, I use the WSDL.exe utility and following command at the command prompt: wsdl /language:VB /out:myclass.vb http://localhost:3245/Service1.asmx?WSDL
This command create class myclass.vb. That class I include in my Windows Application project, but when I do this I get lot of errors.

Nov 24, 2010I'm having one basic aspx script that needs to load some "plugins". Every plugin has its own settings and it should perform different logics. What i'd do in php is create a class for each plugin, load that class, pass the settings file to it and call some method on that class that would give me some output. But is it even possible in vb.net? I'd need to have multiple files with multiple classes, load those files, depending on the plugin name and call some method on them to parse that plugin's settings.

Event Not Firing On Dynamically Added Control
Nov 19, 2010I'm adding multiple combobox controls to a form dynamically, but am having a problem with one of the event handlers. The first event handler I've added (for the Leave event) fires, but the second (for the TextChanged event) does not. I've tried reversing the order when adding the handlers and I get the same results (TextChanged does not fire). Here's a code snippet for adding the controls, and the code for the events. I've added a breakpoint while testing to verify - but it never hits the code.

I create a couple of LinkButtons, depending on the data of the search that was made, and I'm trying to add an Event Handler to each of the Buttons, so it would filter the result. The controls are initialized properly, but the event is never fired.

Sep 18, 2010I'm making a button via images, which changes appearance as the user uses the mouse. For example, when the user clicks on the button, the image changes into the button being "pushed in." My problem is that when the user presses the button and releases the mouse I want it to go back to the image when the user is just hovering over the button. This only happens if the cursor is move off the button and then moved back onto it. I'm trying to call the event/sub where the mousehover event is used in order to get it to change back to the desired image. How do I call this event and/or sub in order for it to work?
