Can Save Data To Access Database And In Access Database Field Set It To Date / Time
Jun 4, 2011I can save my data to access database and in the access database field I set it to date/time.But problem is when I get the value out from the database.. the format is always month/day/year hour:minutes:seconds example today: 5/2/2011 12:00:00..How to get the value into listview becoming May/2/2011 without the hour..Here's my code to get it from database ListView1.Items(i).SubItems.Add(dt.Rows(i)(14).ToString).The second problem is.When I would like to edit, how can the datetimepicker get the listview value ? Apr 20, 2012I'm using ASP.NET/VB and I'm trying to insert a date and time into an Access date/time field, but I'm getting an error (Data type mismatch in criteria expression). Here's a simplified version of my code:

Not sure why I'm getting the error, and not quite sure if this is even the correct way to approach inserting the current date. From looking at other similar questions it appears there are a few different ways to do this, but my technical knowledge is kind of limited so I'm having a hard time figuring it out (in other words deciphering the answers that use technical terms I know nothing about).

Jul 26, 2010I am attempting to use the DateTimePicker and then add a day to each iteration in a For/Next loop. That seems to work fine and I can verify with msgbox that it is happening. However, I also need to write the date in string format to an Access database using INSERT INTO. However, when the code is ran, I get a "syntax error (missing operator)". Code is below. Can someone help please? I have tried all I know to do.(Please disregard the additional values in INSERT TO, I have verified they are working properly)

The user is required to select a week ending date (Saturday) from a datetimepicker field.The date field in access is formatted as short.The values in the database range from 12/04/2009 to 2/05/2009. When I select datetimepicker as 2/05/2009 (i.e. 2 May 2008), no rows are returned. Following is the resultant sql statement:

However, if I select datetimepicker as 25/04/2009, the correct numbers of rows are returned. Following is the resultant sql statement:

Using DateTimePicker Function To Save Date To Access Database
May 18, 2009Im trying to use DateTimePicker function and save the date to an access database. Everything is working somewhat how I want it to but not 100% yet. Here is my problem. When the program is running if I click on the datetimepicker and select a date and click my save button the date IS saved to my access database as it should.
but if i run the program and don't ever click on the datetimepicker (because it is already on the correct current date) and click my save button the date doesn't get saved to the access database. The closest I have gotten was to enable the ShowCheckBox option, If i run the program this way and select the check box but dont select a date then it will save the date to my db.
But I really need it to be able to save the date to the db without the user ever clicking on the datetimepicker. Is it just a simple line I'm missing? Im pretty new to this but Ill try to explain anything the best I can if you have any further questions for me.

Microsoft Access Database From VB6 - Vista - Run As Administrator - Different Date / Time Stamp?
Mar 27, 2010I have a VB6 application which has been running succesfully for years under XP, however under Vista data loss has been observed.It appears that if the app is run 'as administrator' then it connects to the correct database file, however if the app. is not run as administrator then vista creates a copy of the database (no idea where) - hence I end up with 2 versions of the database.
In fact I can delete the database file entirely and the app. still works fine because vista is using it's own copy - the problem is how do I back up this 'vista copy' when I can't find it (search doesn't find it).

Can tell me the correct syntax to change the #5/1/2010# AND #5/30/2010# so the WHERE clause uses dteStartDate AND dteStartDate which are date variables ?
I tried this but it tells me I need to use the to_date function. dteStartDate is already a date variable so I know my syntax is wrong.

Mar 30, 2009I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset

So I have my database, my registration page, everything looks fine in my code, but there's a syntax error I can't seem to figure out. I am getting an error at the "Do While DMReader02.Read = True" line: "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." Why would the reader be closed at this point if I am using different DataReaders in the two loops?

Project Using VB And A Database In Access - Check If My Application Requires Access To Be Installed Or Not?
Feb 16, 2012I'm using VS 2010, and I did a project using VB and a database in Access. The problem is that when I try to put that "application" on other computers, sometimes, is not working. I thought it can be because on these computers they don't have access, but on one computer, is running another app which is using Access and there is no Access installed. How can I check if my application requires Access to be installed or not?
