I can access each variable thus lLocation.SysLocationId, etc. Is there an alternate way, so I can access each variable by index, so something like lLocation(0), lLocation(1), etc., which gives me the flexibility to compare to classes of the same type via a for next loop, or against other sources, like a datatable.

View 4 RepliesI want to read each line from a txt file, but instead of using a for, while etc loop i will let the web browser do it (document completed). I want to increment the next line and let the loop continue till its finished.
Just say the data was inside a textbox, i'd do Textbox1.Lines(count) for line one, then i'd do count += 1 and when the web browser has completed, it would start again and repeat the process.
So how do i read the lines from a txt file into an array without looping? And allows me to specify the line number?
I've got a program I'm working on and I've been entering all the data manually but want to move it to a database.I've constructed the database and have it in the program but cannot get access to the individual cells so that I can use them in computing the results..I have a database named DFTL.mdb with a couple tables, including one query that I'm trying to get data from. The query has 10 records each with 5 unique numbers that attatch to the records.I've tried every way I can think of of pulling this data so I can use it in my program.

View 2 RepliesI have just started using databases, but I am totally stuck. I made a database and table using MS Access. The table has three columns. ID, Code, and Letter. Basically, the Code column stores a number for each letter (eg. 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, etc.)
Table:

| 3| 2| B|
| 4| 3| C|
etc.
This table is just for reference for my program, and I don't need to change any values. But I need a step by step guide to link this table to VB 2010 and convert the values of the table to an array. For example: convert the table into the array "example" which means that example(1) = A, example(2) = B, example(3) = C and so on.
Is it possible to overload the array/dict access operators in VB.net? For example, you can state something like:[code]And that works just fine. But what I would like to do is be able to say:mydict("Cool guy") = "3"and then have 3 automagically converted to the Integer 3.I mean, sure I can have a private member mydict.coolguy and have setCoolguy() and getCoolguy() methods, but I would prefer to be able to write it the former way if at all possible.[code]

So trying to speed up the query. The read of the last item is just to see how long it takes. I do a different method in VB6 and it loads very quickly. Trying to load a dictionary that is over 200,000 rows.

I am trying to instantiate a c# class whose project is referenced within a vb.net project.By providing the following declaration/instantiation of the class, I hoped to be able to access the instantiated classes publicly declared byte array within a vb.net module.The compiler won't let me. I get the message Access of shared member, constant member, enum member or nested type through an instance; qualifying expression will not be evaluated. It wants me to replace the reference to the instantiated class and public member frameData() with the general Class definition name. Why can't I access frameData through the instantiated variable rxFrame?

I have a query in Access 07 that identifies the following fields: ContractID, status, start date and end date. For each contract, I've been able to search a network share and upload its corresponding file; however I need to skip the import and write a record to a table for contracts with the same start and end date. I've included a placeholder (in bold below), but how do I make the date comparison work? Do I need to create a multi-dimensional array for that or can it be done with the code I have?

I have a lot of control array textboxes called txt(1) to txt(320) on form2. I have a textbox1 on form1 with a click evet that says textbox1.text= form2.txt(1).text but it gives an error (txt is not a member of form2). I tried disabling option explicit, option strick and option infer. Still won't work. My code is to long for this place maybe a short version osf the code. Do I need to make a Public MyArray(15,15,15,15) as string, in the Module1 then copy txt(n).text to the array or is there a way to access txt(n).

View 5 RepliesI have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.
All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. The Error occurs when I try to access any property of "access.Forms("frmTest")"
I've come up with the following and it's partly working.

The above code works fine! But im having trouble trying to now retreive whats stored in the array.In the above example, an entry will be stored in serialports(4), all other array elements will be blank.If I do this it works.
MsgBox(serialports(4).PortName) ' this retuns the value COM4
But I'd like to loop though all array elements and print out ALL the PortNames, The below code doesnt work, I get an error Object variable or With block variable not set.

I'm trying to sort an array based on a structure but whenever I do this, it basically erases all the data in the entire array.I have verified that the array is populated correctly, it is when using array.sort that everything returns blank.
