I have a code which can get the MAX value of distinct "SYSID" field. Now, I plan to add a data filtering by time - Start and End time. I have tried but getting all sorts of error and can't get what I'm after for. So the program should do the data filtering (data >=starttime and data <=endtime) first before getting the max value of "SYSID"

i am trying to run the code above but once the date filter ([DocumentDate] = '12/10/2009 00:00:00'") is applied the results count = 0 any idears how to filter an SQL database between 2 dates.
I'm using EPPlus to create Excel reports. Now i'm trying to create a Pivot with a DateTime PageField, so that the user can filter the period he want to see by himself. But although i can filter this for year,month or days in the according data worksheet by default, i don't get it working in the Pivot.

I'm trying to create a Windows form application which uses a few data grid views to pull data back from a SQL Server database. I've managed to get the data back okay from the tables but what I want to do is filter that data dynamically based on values input by the user from a combo box and a date time picker. Each of the data grids display production data for a machine but the combo box and date time picker will allow the data to be filtered by shift and date respectively - how to I pass the values of these to the SQL query returning the data?

I am trying to learn the new methods in .net, but, I cant see a way to step through the data like you can in an ado recordset. I want to pull data from a table once, then split the data with a filter, then step through the rows gathering the dtata till eof. Clear the filter and reset it for the next batch.

I have an arraylist that holds a subset of names found in my database. I need to write a query to get a count of the people in the arraylist for certain sections i.e. There is a field "City" in my database from the people in the arraylist of names I want to know how many of them live in Chicago, how many live in New York etc.
how I might set up an sql statement to handle this. I think somehow I have to pass the subset of names to sql somehow.

I need a way to create a function using your sql statement to return a datatable object of names and the parameters would be city, and the List of names.
The above example isnt the sql I am looking for its just a skeleton of what the function would look like that I want to create.
So then you would use the function by iterating through all the cities passing in the same set of names each time in the fron end.

Error converting data type varchar to datetime.rtfI am trying to learn ASP.NET using ASP.NET 1.1 with SQL Server 2000 for the database. I have created a Stored Procedure in SQL Server 2000 and the procedure to execute the Stored Procedure is in ASP.NET 1.1. The problem is that when I try to save a record, the date field returns the above error. I have ried to use the several solutions on the web without getting one to solve the problem.I am attaching the Stored Procedure as well as the ASP.NET code for some advice. I am importing data from CSV file into a dataset using OLEDB data adaptor.I created a query with query builder to extract the desired data then copied the text generated into my code. Everything works as it should exepct that the seconds part of a datetime column is missing when the code is run.The odd thing about this is that the seconds part appears when i execute the query in query builder.[code]

I'm using a dataview and bind it to data grid view. Currently my data is shown nicely at data grid view, and I successfully added filter: itemDataView.RowFilter = "item_id LIKE '" & Me.txtItem_ID.Text & while itemDataView is my dataview, and txtItem_ID is a text box to allow my users entering filter parameter.
This code runs nicely, but the problem occurs when a user enter special character(s) like an apostrophe (single quote " ' ") or an opening square bracket " [ ". Is there any way so that I can escape this characters? Currently I'm replacing each one of them using text.Replace()
