How can I use user generated answers and incorporate them into my script? I want to make an extremely simple AI program which asks for your name and then says "Hello 'Insert name entered by user' " in a Message Box.

I'm converting a user generated list box to an array and then generating a user defined number of random strings and placing it in a textbox.The code I have works fine as it will generate the number of random strings the user wants, except sometimes a line is blank at the top of the list but is counted as a string.

My ultimate goal is to allow users to select a file from a dialog as if they are uploading a file. I'm creating a PDF file on the fly using ITextSharp and ASP.NET 1.1. My process is as follows -
Create file on server Redirect browser to newly created PDF file so it is displayed to user
What I'd like to do is delete the PDF from the server as soon it is displayed in the users browser. The PDF file is large so it is not an option to hold it in memory, an initial write to the server is required. I'm currently using a solution that periodically polls for files then deletes them, but I'd prefer a solution that deletes the file immediately after it has been downloaded to the client machine. Is there a way to do this?
Don't know if this is possible, but I'd like a config section to be generated when another developer adds my dll to their project. This way they don't have to look up in code or a doc as to what they need to put in their config file.

I'm trying to get the answer "dblcost" to go into 2 decimal spots. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.Also, I have to create something that continually adds each transaction to lblfinalcost. When Score exam is clicked, the answers from the keys file is read using ReadLine method 6 times to fill the Answer Array. then the users' answers and the answers from the keys will be paired up by calling "Compare_Answers" function in the RMV Global Module. and calculate the score and it will show on the main form.

I'd like to create one as I am an affiliate marketer who wants to reach customers based on key words. I don't regard this as spamming since I'm not randomly sending out links its based on key words like I said. Y!A might regard this as spamming anyways but so what. In Yahoo Answers you click the question you want to answer, type in the answer, it takes you to a preview screen, and then you click submit. I suppose the script/program could involve automating this task.
Its not that I need everything to be done when I'm away from the computer, I don't mind working the program at all each time I send a mass amount of messages. Someone created a program a while back that was *supposed* to send bulk messages as they stated in the description but as it turned out this was not an option you could only comment on resolved questions. When I did send mass comments to questions which related to my key words, I clicked the link to confirm my comments went through and they did not! This program was a waste of my time and energy but that's life.
I am working on a multiple choice quiz, admin screen, student login screen where they choose their level of difficulty. I have been able to start the quiz, have the questions and answers filled, user answers question, check if correct or not, if correct then the score is incremented.I am able to set up a variable for 'level' and want to write some code so that whatever is selected then that table / questions will be selected and displayed to the user.
The way I'm thinking at the moment seems very long winded. I think I'll have to write an IF ELSE statement/case statement for each of the 'navigaterecords' and the sql statment for beginners, intermediate and advanced.Assume there is a variable 'LEVEL' - have not actually done this yet. Where the code refers to 'advanced' is where I have been trying it out to select questions from the advanced table.

so i am new to v basic and as you can see in the picture below that i have 2 textboxes just to put in them 2 numbers and then do mathematical calcualtions on them and a label up there that shows the answer so i wanted to make 1 textbox to type in the 1 st number then press the symbol for example + and then type the 2nd number and then press equal so the result is formed in the same textbox the only problem is idk how i searched google but i couldnt understand here is my source code

View 1 RepliesThis seems like it should be easy. I have an Excel file that has the information I need, but I don't want to need Excel to run my program. I need to be able to package that information with the VB code. I'm using VS 2010.
I know how to write a program to read Excel and put information into an array, but can I turn that information into something my next program can read independently of the original spreadsheet. This isn't something I have time to input by hand.
I'll try to explain this one more time so that it's clear as mud. I need to be able to incorporate an Excel spreadsheet or VBA code into a VB program so that it becomes independant of MS Office and/or (because it'd be nice to know how to do both) read information from the Excel spreadsheet and then save that array for use in a later program thereby removing the influence of Excel completely.
Finally, I'll explain my program and desired function so that somebody might be able to interperet my desperate ranting. I am writing a program that will require properties of steam to calculate boiler performance. I have found an example of the properties I need [URL] or I might be able to find other sources. I now need to roll that information into my own program.
I currently have two projects that are working fine alone. One is a simple chat program (found on forums) and the other is a client tool for my clients to use. I want to add a button to my client tool that executes the chat. When I try to add the chat code to my client project I get errors and understanding some of the issues. I know that some of it is that there is a form in the chat with buttons for connecting to the server and then a button to start the chat but I want to make it "one" button from my program that is "chat" and it connects and opens the chat form.
