I have a problem in retrieving dateTime object from the database. I have this :
Return CBO.FillCollection(Of ObjectInfo)(CType(DataProvider.Instance().ExecuteReader("sp_SelectAll"), IDataReader))
Then When I want to display the date from the collection I get from the stored procedure. the date was truncated. It shows only the timein the ObjectInfo..there is a field call _mydate as DateTime.
How to retrieve only date from DateTime in vb.net in dd/MM/yyyy format and I have a field in table in access 2007 which has date/time datatype. Data is stored in datetime format.(04/08/2010 12:01:07 AM) I want to retrive only dates which are in range of two DTPickers in dd/MM/yyyy format [Code]
I am not new to vb but still an amateur, however, I am still learning linking vb apps to mysql, here is where my troubles begin. I am stuck and been trying for hours on end to get past this problem. It's starting to hurt my head! I am sure others have similar problems.I posted my imports and the module I put my public sub in. The sub is called as a form loads. The Error is:
An unhandled exception of type 'MySql.Data.Types.MySqlConversionException' occurred in MySql.Data.dll Additional information: Unable to convert MySQL date/time value to System.DateTime
I have this question about how to retrieve a column with DateTime from MySQL as String and put the data in a textbox. [code]I want to use this to cross reference with other table in other database, but to do that i need to copy the data into a textbox as string or a datetimepicker as datetime.
I have a datetimepicker object and a label. Now i want when i choose a date from datetimepicker the label.text to be the next month of the chosen date. I wrote the following code, but it doesn`t work. What is the problem with it?
Private Sub DateTimePicker42_ValueChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles DateTimePicker42.ValueChanged Dim dateincome As Date
I dont get following desired output from a DateTime-Object: 2010-03-29 13:15:00
My default localization is de-DE, so a simple ToString gives me: 29.03.2010 13:15:00
What I've tried is to create a DateTimeFormatInfo Object from US-Culture and use its DateTimePatterns but without success:
Dim usDateFormat As Globalization.DateTimeFormatInfo = New Globalization.CultureInfo("en-US", False).DateTimeFormat usDateFormat.DateSeparator = "-" ruleResult.Claim.Last_Updated_Date.ToString(usDateFormat.ShortDatePattern)
Output: 3.29.2010
What is the best way (readable, fastest) to get my desired DateTimeFormat(i need sometimes the short Date and sometimes the Date and Time like in my example above)?
Why does my DateTimeFormatInfo approach not work and makes it a performance difference when using the String.Format or ToString("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss") solutions instead of a private shared(static) DateTimeFormatInfo-Object? I'm calling this function at least 30k times and there are many Dates to format inside.
I have some some dates as strings in the format dd/mm/yyyy which I need to convert to DateTime object.uggest a simple routine which I can use inside a Loop which produce these Strings.
I am having trouble with a mySQL query with the .NET connector. When I create the query, it automatically creates my parameters as objects. I usually change the type to the correct type, which in this case is Date, but I get different results passing in the parameter as a date. When I do "Preview Query" as an object, I get the correct results, but bad results as a Date. I would just leave them as objects, but it errors out when I try to pass a date in.Here's the part of my query that I'm having trouble with:
(Tickets.Resolved >= str_to_date(@startDate, '%m/%d/%Y')) AND (Tickets.Resolved <= str_to_date(@endDate, '%m/%d/%Y')) AND (Tickets.Status = 'resolved' OR Tickets.Status = 'rejected')
I have a class orderItem it is a parent of Product and service class Im adding product or services in a listcollection. How can I cast service or product for retrieving orderitem?
Public MustInherit Class OrderItem Private m_enuItemType As TypeOfItem = TypeOfItem.None Private m_strUserID As String = ""
Given a connection object (or series of them), does anyone know of a way to backtrack and get the provider name? I'm trying to create a generic dataset generator that someone could load up with n DbCommand instances populate the dataset without requiring any further information.
Theoretically, as a command requires a connection object, that's all the information one should need to create this tool.Given that I'm populating tables in a dataset, I figured the simplest way would be using a DataAdapter. The only problem is that to generate a generic DataAdapter, I seem to have to go through the provider factory which requires a provider string - which I don't have.
Also, given that the provider for each command could potentially be different (i.e. commands across numerous databases), does anyone have any suggestions that would keep this simple?I'd like not to have to require the user to provide the provider string for each command object if I can avoid it. This way the user can just pass a param array of DbCommands and I can take it from there.
I have a Login class with a doLogin() method which is called from a Button.OnClick() event from my Login form.If the login is successful, I then instantiate a User Class with the users details (username, first name etc.).The problem is, I don't know the best way to store this User object .I want to be able to retrieve details from this Object 'on-the-fly' from other forms, Such as UserObj.getFirstName(). And then have the ability to remove the object for when the user logs out, for example.
I really don't want to have to pass the object around to every form that would need it. That seems unnecessary and I'm sure there's a much easier and logical way.If it was possible to store objects in My.Settings, then It'd be perfect, but you can't (i think?).
I have a report made in Crystal Reports XI. The report is generated and exported to PDF in visual basic script using COM interface. Generally everything is running smoothly, but in one case generation breaks with error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code 9421]
Database used is MSSQL 2005 connected over ODBC to CR XI. When I am opening report with exactly the same parameters in Designer, everything works fine.It looks like it is data related, but it is hard to trace since the whole report is pretty sophisticated. Anyway I spent half a day on crawling over Dr. Google and it seems that he has no clue what might be an issue.
i need to make a database application that can write/retrieve cells/datasets from/to a database i buyed a book in there was an example of how to create a database application while debugging i had the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error and it highlighted this code
objDataRow = objDataSet.Tables("KlantenTable").NewRow now the problem is here i declare something later in the code i write to it objDataSet.Tables("KlantenDataTable").Rows.Add(objDataRow)
I like the PHP way of doing things but, it seems I am stuck with using a Collection of Object's to store/retrieve the data I need. I have my Collection loaded with my Objects's and the code to iterate through the collection, my problem is I am unable to retrieve the "key" as it would be called in PHP (I believe in this case it is actually the name of the object).
Consider the following example:
Dim xDoc As XPathDocument = New XPathDocument(fName) Dim xNav As XPathNavigator = xDoc.CreateNavigator()
Dim sender As XPathNodeIterator
[CODE]...
As you can see, I am navigating an XML document, and creating an Object with some Key/Value pairs. The Object would look something like this if it were in JSON:
When I iterate though the Collection I can only get the value of the object, but I need the Key, in this instance I want "name","address1","city","state" to be stored in a variable for each iteration.
I am using the following code to load an ArrayList with an object. [code]I don't know how to retrieve the object from the ArrayList using the Item property. I am using the following withOUT Success. The code is searching the arraylist for a match on serial number. Values(2) is correct and is working fine - the problem is purely getting the object information from the arraylist.[code]How do I pull the propertys back from the object in the arraylist to compare the values with Values(2)?
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim con As New System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection Dim cmd As New System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand Dim esql As String
[code]....
i am trying to run the code above but once the date filter ([DocumentDate] = '12/10/2009 00:00:00'") is applied the results count = 0 any idears how to filter an SQL database between 2 dates.
When I insert a datetime into a datetime field in a SQL Database I only get for example 22/04/2012 06:31:33 instead of 22/04/2012 18:31:33 no matter how I format the field either in Vb or on date time on pc I only get am times
I built a WCF service that exposes itself for a web application, it accepts an object and prints the data on the clients machine. Works fine on my development machine, and the service is up and running on any machine i install it on. I can enter ip address in clients machine web browser and see it is running. Problem is when i send the object to the clients machine it returns an error, that sounds like it could be because of the clients windows firewall. Where would i start at to deal with this problem ?There was no endpoint listening at http://192.168.1.168:2202/PrintLabel that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.
I am using a sql server database and i am storing the time value in the datetime variable. I am developing a booking system application in vb.net. When I want to view already made bookings using datagridview and by implementing dataadapter and dataset it shows the time column with system date which was saved with time when the record was inserted. Now I want to view only time in the Time field when extracting the data....What should i do now??
I need to have a property that is a nullable date as the datestamp is used for when a process is completed. If there is no date this is a way to determine if the process has occurred. I have created a Nuallable DateTime property (DateTime?) However when I try to assign a value from my database entity (when debugged has a date value) I am not thrown an exception however my property still reads a null value after assignment. How can I get a DateTime? type to accept a DateTime value?
I thought this would do the trick _object.DateStamp (type = DateTime?) = _entity.DateStamp (Type = DateTime?, Value = DateTime) o Or for more understandable syntax Ctype(object.DateStamp, DateTime?) = Ctype(entity.DateStamp, DateTime?)
Strange thing is I can assign the properties value like this. Ctype(object.DateStamp, DateTime?) = Now I am using LinQ Entities.
Dim purchasedatetime As Date = Now str = "Insert into Customer_Order (Order_Date) values ('" & purchasedate & "')" cmd = New OleDbCommand(str, cn) exe = cmd.ExecuteNonQuery
I am trying to insert Default dateTime into my databse however when I run this code it stores date but stores time as 10:00:00, Is there a way I can store the time without the seconds so it is like 10:00?
I have an application in which I have one textbox (in this one I write a date like 23.07.2010 ) and a combobox in which I insert a time from the list of combobox (like 12:30, 14:45, etc). I want that when I press a button to send this datetime value in a column of an sql database. I want to send something like (in VB.NET)
I have an image stored in sql server. I want to retrieve the image and place it in a MailMessage object, not as an attachment file, but as part of the html body. I found many samples using local image file, but I have not found any using an image from a database.
I have a combobox where the user can type the sql server name. Then a connect button that, when the user click, I want it to populate another combobox with all the databases from the server in the previous combobox. Unfortunately, I am getting the error object reference is not set....!
Here is where I am getting the error: For Each objDB As Database In Me.SMOServer.Databases I am new to VB ...I'm using vb2008 connecting to sql server 2005.
Here is my complete code: Imports Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo Imports Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Common Public Class Form1 'Public Class frmSQLConnection Private m_objServer As Server [Code] .....
I am faced with the prospect of having to completely rewrite the application.I have suddenly started to get this error message all the time - it seemed to start after I added a table to the schema, but deleting the table makes no difference. I can't see anything wrong with the connection string, but as it seems to be entirely undocumented, that doesn't mean much.
The connection string contains DataSource=.SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory| est.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=Trueand certainly the string works when I use "test connection" from the application setting edit box. I am assuming that for some reason it is not evaluating the Data Directory , but can't see any reason why it shouldn't. Any ideas gratefully received! What might be a clue though is that I can't get rid of the table I added. I have deleted it from the database, deleted it from designer and saved the file, but it just keeps reapearing! Even when it is not showing, there is still a table adapter in the .xsd file. I am reluctant to start editing this manually because of the danger of screwing something else up - I did try but it caused an error somewhere else (VS helpfully didn't say where)
I am not sure if this should be in the SQL or vb.net section. But, Basically I have a vb.net application from where I insert a datetime field into the SQL Server Database. Now for some reason the SQL server field(which is datetime) will not display AM/PM, I have referred this link where my code looks like this:
Dim dateToDisplay As DateTime = DateTime.Now dsNewRow.Item("date_created") = dateToDisplay.ToString("MM.dd.yyyy hh:mm:ss tt")
I tried stepping into the code by debugging and it seems to be inserting the PM but is not displayed in the table QuotedateToDisplay#8/12/2011 6:01:06 PM#Date
