Oct 17, 2010I have finished by killer app but it seems that I will have to go to a third party tool in order to create a deployment CD. My problem with both the 2005 version and the 2008 version is that the "Add New Project" window contains only the "Templates" panel. Oct 17, 20091.How can i deploy my project to other computers and transfer all the files that i need? I know i do publish, but do i need to change any of my files setings, or do anyting inparticular get the files to the automatically deploy.for example how MS Office suppliers all file you need to do templates and stuff.

Mar 3, 2012Using Visual Studio 2010, Windows 7.Setting up project on one machine, then attempting deployment it on another machine with Windows 7 on it:When it comes to deployment, every time I have one to do, it is like pulling teeth.I am in file system setup, and I have a custom folder created with DefaultLocation set at [CommonAppDataFolder].Supposably you can use the "Common Files Folder" too, but that did not work either.What is happening is, I have three files in this folder, and two of them copy over just fine, when I look at the ProgramData/Tachufind folder, both of those files are in there, but no sign whatsoever of the third file.I have tried deleting and then re-copying the file back in, to no avail.I have tried setting various properties, to see if that will change anything, to no avail. Can't Microsoft make this easier, this is deployment-hell! Is there another application you can use to deploy a project without losing your sanity?

What I would like to do is during the installation of that project is to install a shortcut icon on the desktop that points to the location of the .exe file that was just installed on the user's machine. Unfortunately this option in the setup is not easy to find (at least to me) on Visual Studio 2003. What would I need to do in order to get that shortcut icon to pop-up automatically?

I have an old VBA application that connects to a database using OLEDB, grabs data, and populates an excel sheet using Excel.QueryTable after the user clicks a button. I'm trying to port this rather large program to VB.NET. I've created a few projects in my solution, one of which being an ExcelWorkBook. I want this workbook to load each time users launch the program and be blank until they click a button which will populate the data.

Running Project On XP And Sever 2003 But Works On Windows 7 32 Bit And 64bit?
Mar 9, 2012After compiling the project it works fine on windows 7 32bit and 64 bit but will not work on server 2003 or xp clients have not checked vista yet, i have verified that .net 4 is installed and i can tell you that i do not get an error message when installing apart from the icon that i have given the project does not appear and is a blank icon on the desktop. When i try to run the program it will try to start i see the service in the task manager and after a while it will error out and crash. I can see the memory usage go from 20,000K to 70.000k.

May 5, 2010For reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.

Mar 31, 2009I need to deploy this app and currently the installer the path goes something like "C:Program FilesManufacturerApp". I just want it to be "C:Program FilesApp" by default. I know I can change this manufacturer from the properties for the project, but I want it to go away altogether. The setup project won't build with it gone.
