How To Make Only One Windows Form Show At A Time

i have a combobox that has 3 cases. case "0" opens a dialog saying, "Not a valid choice"but case "1" and case"2" open up there own separate forms. (FormMain and Form3)How do i make it so if Form3 is open FormMain Can not be opened, And a messagebox appear saying so. I do not just want the ".hide" function. I already have that set.I have tried a few differant things, none of which worked. And i tried them in the formload and in the combobox selected index

The first column in my Data Grid is actually not my first column. It has an arrow pointed to the first row and then the last row has an asterisk by it. Is there anyway to make this column not show every time my form loads?

I try using Icon.Visible = True. But it will only show icon in the taskbar for a brief period of time before Windows will hide it automatically. How to programmatically make show icon permanently?
The effect is the same as doing it manually, by click on task bar icon button -> Customize Notifications and set behavior to = "Always Show / Always Hide / Hide when inactive" for each taskbar icon on the list.
How to set it to "Always Show" programmatically?

My Project having form-1 & form-2. Project starts with Form-1.From the form-1, button1 - click() I want to close the form1 and from2.showform2.show showing form2, but the form-1 is also still opened. I have a form where I have created a custom property, DataEntryRole, and set its Browsable attribute to True, as shown:

When I view the designer for my form, DataEntryRole doesn't appear in the property box. I assume that it should appear if I were to create another form that inherited from this base form, but that's not what I want. I want this property to show up in my current form.

My main form has a timer that monitors idle time in my app: no mouse movements and no clicks.If the idle time reached 3 seconds, in *this example below*, then I want to show frmRestart, which will call the UnloadAllFormsExcept(Me) function from frmMain.When three idle seconds are reached, frmRepeat starts to show on the screen but never does!! I just see the border of the form and nothing else. My mouse goes into "thinking" mode forever.[code]

I have a Datarow array but now I need to show each row in a windows form so that the user can look through and find a suitable entry. I can show an excel workbook using a WebBrowser component but that only works if excel is installed on the target computer.Any other ways to display an excel sheet ? Just a viewer. No need to edit, scroll or tab between sheets.There's a lots of OCX components out there that do this but anyone know of a .net component ?Or any way to achieve it without needing Excel to be installed.

I have a print driver Windows app that uses a web service to connect to an authenticate its credentials. But the problem is, I don't want a user to login every time they want to print. Basically I want the login part of the app to only pop up if the printing functionality hasn't been used in 20 minutes.
tell me what would be the best way to go about this? I'm unfamiliar with Timer functions. This app isn't always on. It's on briefly then closed. So I need a solution where the timer is set somehow on the computer.And I don't want to write data to a text file when it can just be edited..

I did a MDI Winforms application and noticed behaviour that I have a question for. If one of the forms is opened with a Maximized Window State and another form is opened with a Normal Window State, the form Window State that used to be Maximized is changed to Normal. Can several windows be open in a MDI form with different window states at the same?

When I select a standard windows form at design time, then in the toolbox, under the "general" section, there are ellipse, line, and rectangle, but they are all gray and so can't be used and I can't find any way to make them not gray and thus usable. What am I missing? The help system tells how to USE them but nothing about how to make them accessible, it just assumes they are.
I have no problem drawing a line on a form at run-time but I want to drop one on at design time and can't find any way that's my real problem.I'm not a heavy user of VB.NET so I figure there's probably something simple that I'm overlooking.

I am trying to fetch some specific data from a file which is updated frequently. So, i am trying to make my form wait till i get a particular data. i am using Threading.Thread.Sleep(10000)to wait and again check the data.
but form is getting hanged (showing NOT RESPONDING)

I have a windows form where I want the time to constantly be updated. Right now it will take the current time from when the program was started.
For example, if I started the program at 4:30:29 PM that is what it will show the whole time the program runs.I need it to constantly be updated as the seconds tick by. So, If I started the program at 4:30:29 PM and ran it for exactly 5 minutes, the time displayed then should be 4:35:29 PM.The data being taken in and saved needs a time associated with it and the end user also need to know the current time as the program is ran in full-screen. The idea with this form is to add the futures which is calculated when the button is pushed but I need the list to update every time and show the values each time to which the previous value is added to the new calculation, e.g. of what it should look like in listbox:
Year 1: $1,290.93
Year 2: $2,724.32
Year 3: $4,350.76
etc....
