I am planning not to use Aspx for this 2) The node named Item would eventually change as per app Requirements. So, I don't want to restrict my xpath to something like "//Product/Item"..[code]I am reading this xml from codebehind and iterating through xmlnodes to display in the grid. I have a radgrid1 and inside radgrid Item template i have two asp.net imagebutton namely imagebutton1 and imagebutton2 .... i want when i click on Selected radgrid Item whose id is id then after clicking on Image Button1 i redirect to ~/book.aspx?id=1 and if i click on imagebutton2 then i redirect to ~/details.aspx?id=1 Note : the id of the item will be changed dynamically according to the selected radgrid row . I have already done it using simple Gridview but m unable to perform this action using radgrid.

I'm building an application in VS2008 (VB) and SQL 2005. I'm using databindings to bind controls to LINQtoSQL objects. If I bind a 'third level' property that can be null I get "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: component" error while disposing the control.
Steps to reproduce (8):
1- create TEST database in SQL
2- create tables like this:

I got an error in my coding. The error is expression expected. How I am to correct my coding. In my coding here I am tried to develop multilevel access login page. Here is my coding which is connected to database. In my coding, I create 3 textbox which is txtusername.text, txtpassword.text and txtdepartment.text. User must key in they username, password and their department in the login page, if the user department is Admin then he will access into admin page and if user department is store then he will access into store page. I am still new beginner in this vb language and for your info I am using visual studio 2005 and sql 2005.

I have a form called studentForm which has a studentCombobox, studentTextbox and a studentDatagridView
In the constructor of the studentForm I need to bind studentCombobox to the StudentbindingSource of the main form and to bind studentDataGridView to appropriate binding source in the mainForm.So that this datagrid view displays all the bookings for the studentID currently selected in studentComboBox

I'm doing a form to add/edit/delete values from a data catalog. everything goes fine but the Radgrid doesn't update after Submit Button is pressed in the edit/new dialog. i did it before in a more complex form but i can't figure exactly what's wrong.
in the update the data where the new data will be overwritten dissapears after postback. (i have a way to solve this)

I have inherited an application that uses telerik controls. This is my first time to work with it and I'm a little confused.I have a RadComboBox that has its values hard coded. When the user selects an item, a RadGrid is refreshed to show the records that correlate with the item the user selects from this combo box. This all works great.I'm trying to create link buttons, so that when the user clicks on one, the RadComboBox value is changed to whatever value I set it to in the codebeind page and the RadGrid is refreshed to show the appropriate records.I can set the value of the RadComboBox, and see what value it has when debugging, but the RadComboBox in the browser does not reflect the change and the RadGrid is not refreshed when I programatically execute the event handler for it.

I have a Telerik Radgrid containing all the valid usernames and passwords that can be used to unlock functionnalities on my web page. The password is encrypted, so you have to click the row to decrypt and show the actual password. All usernames and passwords can be changed by an admin When the admin presses [ENTER] to submit the new username/password combination (instead of pressing the submit button), the new combination is actually submitted (which is fine).

I have a Telerik RadGrid that has three bound columns and one button column. I would like to let the user edit the values in only one of the bound columns. The user can add a new record so i can't set the two bound column to read only. Is there anyway i can do this in the ASPX or do i have to do it in the code behind? I have some code that is working but it is not the best.Here's my code:

I have a radgrid bound to a SqlDataSource that includes a hidden, readonly column that stores a pk. I want to pass the value bound to that column to a stored procedure for Updates but the default behavior when the column is readonly is not to pass the parameter to the sqlDataSource. My question is whether there is a way to pass that value without having to go into the code behind. Here is a snippet of my asp markup.

I have a RadGrid with a filtercontrol on it. The grid fits the size of the window, but certain views have quite a few columns and when the columns get shrunk down, the filter controls don't resize to fit. Is there any way to set those filter controls to auto fix within the width of the column?

I'm currently developing an application with a reasonably complex DataGridView that allows the user to build the lines of a sales document: Quantitiy, Description, Price, etc with some additional fields to help calculate price based on cost or discount i'm sure you get the jist - all this means we're not just diplaying data but adding and manipulating it - It also means there's mainly decimal fields, nit just simple text fields
Now, i'm new to VB.net, so i've perhaps done things a bit backwards during my learning curve, namely designing and coding my DGV before creating the underlying database table and binding to it - so as i'm sure you can image there's a bit recoding to do to allow for the fact that it's now bound to a datasource.
I'd got the DGV working just how a wanted it to, but now that i've bound it to a datasource i'm hiting multiple problems with: Formating the appearance of figures in the DGV Problems with blank fields while enering data (before the i try to save the data back to the database) How the DGV is functioning - it seems to behave differently when adding lines to a new sales document than it does when adding lines to an existing sales document
And given that when saving edits to an existing line i need to provide a valid update command i'm begining to think that it might be easier to scrap the databinding altogether and just Select, Add and Edit the database with code rather than binding the DGV in the IDE
I've read various threads about avoiding databinding due to it's limitations, but i've also read that it's far better in later versions of Visual Studio and .net. and i'm using VS2010
I'd just like some advise as to whether my gut feeling is right or whether i should persevere with databinding the DGV. i've noticed some quirks of databinding while working with other controls such as text and combo boxes, but i've overcome these and the result seems to be easier than coding the data transfer manually.
But i'm really struggling with databinding the DGV and the fact that i'm dtatbinding to a seperate table to the rest of the controls is leaning me away from databinding

I have an unbound DataGridView
I want to be able to add just a few rows in one specific column, save this to My.Settings, and be able to load those words back into the DGV at the press of a button, make any changes, then re-save in My.Settings.
I don't want to have to bind my DGV to a source.

I know how to read user input using textbox but it only can read character and numbers. Is it possible that I want to read user input equation?

I am populating a textbox (txtFileNature) with a value from a popup window. The textbox has an onfocus handler set to
onfocus=("this.blur();")
The problem is that I want to do some calculations based on the value of txtFileNature and want to display the result below it. In which event can I can use my VB code. I can't use the textchanged event since I am not typing in the textbox.
