Texbox Show The Count?
May 17, 2012There are 3 textboxes->textbox1,textbox2,textbox3 and 1 button.In textbox1 bname will be stored and in textbox2 aname is stored.Bname and aname are columns of databasetable.This are not unique.There are same bnames and anames records.What I am trying to do is:when the user clicks on button then the code should match textbox1 and textbox2 with the databasetable and get the count of rows that match this data.

But when I save a row and then clear the text of a textbox (which holds a decimal value), it simply does not let me tab off the text box or save it. I put a ErrorProvider to see whats going on. It says "Input string was not in correct format". But I allowed this column to be null in my table. So how do I fix this error. And by the way, it does not happen for all text boxes.

Jun 13, 2012I have mp3 database (access). I want to filter table and show 100 most played songs. There is a field "PlayCount" which is increased every time the song is played. I know how to use TOP clause, but there is a problem when I want to sort results in descending order by "PlayCount" .here is the sql query:
SELECT TOP 100 * FROM Database ORDER BY PlayCount DESC this query returns 120 results. If I use "TOP 200" it will return 278 results. But everything works fine if I use ORDER BY Filename.

I can't pass in the correct element ID, though. From what I understand, ASP.NET transforms the ID I assign into some huge long ID for the sake of uniqueness. For example, I assign a table with the ID 'drillDownTable0' and it spits out 'ctl00_drillDownTable0' in the HTML markup. It worked the first time around, but then the Repeater gets binded to a new row and then I get 'ctl01_drillDownTable0' so on and so forth. I've tried the ClientID, ID, and UniqueID where I add the attributes to the Cells in the code above and they don't do what I need to. Is there any way I can get that ID and pass it to the Javascript function? Or I guess a better question is: When are the IDs generated and can I get to them before the page is rendered in HTML?

Jan 19, 2009My problem with AddNew. It really is somewhat simple, but I can't figure out the solution. I have a form where I show a list of my rows with a given a table. The user can then select a row and press clone, which then will try to make a copy of that row.
Here is a snippet:

.... and continue to copy the rest of the data to the newrow...One of the items in the row is obviously a primary key called id. I can not copy this data since I am creating a new row. My problem is, how do I set that value!? or atleast retrieve the value for the newly added table. I need that value so that I can call another form to actually allow the user to modify this newly cloned data. I tried using EndEdit, UpdateAll, no worky. THen I thought I could assume that the newly added row would go at the end of the table so I used MovedLast then got the currentRow id from there... That worked well until we did some deletes within the table.

To have the text displayed as highlighted i.e. bold, I manually modified the text inside the field of the table to show

Is this ok? It does not seem to work because in the label control I see: <strong>hello</strong>
