Dec 14, 2011My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.

I can update, insert and delete all from the database and the listview is updated accordingly. However, I cannnot for the life of me get it to remove a row from the database based on the selected index of the listview!!!I suppose I could use a DataGridView but then I would need to add a datasource wouldn't I?

Aug 25, 2011I have a datagridview, with 3 columns, each containing dropdown filters (in the column header). Of the 3 columns, 2 are working perfectly fine, but whenever I try to filter the 3rd column, it gives me this error: (Also all of the column's have the ColumnType property set to: DataGridViewAutoFilterTextBoxColumn) "Index was out of range. Mar 5, 2009I've got the web browser with tabs in all working fine, but there's one bug, i can add tabs, delete em, etc.. but when i delete a tab then go to create a new tab, it gives me the error: InvalidArgument=Value of '6' is not valid for 'index'. Print Multiple Page From Database Records?
Jul 27, 2009I'm using Visual Studio 2005, and MSSQL.I need to print records from database on the preview document according to my select statement condition. I have no problem printing one page, but when the records exceed one page it does not go to the next page. I've tried setting e.morepages to true, but it just prints infinite number of pages with the same result. I'm guessing the problem is with my pointer, where the if-else condition is always true so it just keeps printing.

I know how to print the text onto the PrintDocument at a certain position, but what I am trying to figure out is how to deal with the coordinates of the text I am drawing on the PrintDocument. I used a array for the movie quotes and a comboBox for the movie names. I have coded a portion of the program but I am stuck on how to compare the array quote being shown to what movie the user selects from the comboBox. I have tried numerous different things but none seem to work right. The way I have it coded now it shows that every movie I pick that it is right even if it is wrong. Apr 14, 2009I am working in VB 2008 and I have set up a datagridview to display rows of data which can then be selected. When I select the first row I get the error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. When I select any other row the program executes as it should. From what I have learned so far is that the DataGridView has an index of -1 and that it counts the header row as part of the index which is the -1.When I select the first row through either DataGridView1_RowHeaderMouseClick or DataGridView1_CellContentClick the index is 0 for the first record. If the index is 0 I think it would fire off, but I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes. I can check the index, so when it is 0 and the code attempts to access the row, that is when I get the message.On an index number of 1 and up the code executes fine.So, is there a way to re-index the DataGridView, or is there a work around/fix for this issue?

Millspaugh). but this one is making my head want to explode. please point me in the right direction with this.
Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.
