Sep 30, 2011I have a text box with some text inside it;
the text is long (say 100 chars);
the textbox can display about 20 chars.
The following code:
tbxTest.SelectionStart = 5
tbxTest.SelectionLength = 60
selects a part of the text and sets the cursor (blinking beam) at the and of the selection, in this case the first caracters of the selected text is out of the user sight because the textbox is too small to display the entire selection.
Is it possible to force the cursor to be at the beginning of the selection so the first part of the text is visible? (as if I had selected my text with the mouse dragging from the end back towards the beginning)

Find Out If The Vertical Scroll Bar Of A Text Box Is At The Beginning Of The Text Box Or The End?
Mar 22, 2012I have a wrapper class created around TextBox, and I want to find out if there is any way to test if the vertical scroll bar is at the beginning (the very top) of the text box and at the very end of the text box.Alternatively, I will be happy if only I can find out a way to check if a scroll bar is enabled or not in a textbox (note: it's not a RichTextbox).
By enabled, I mean that scroll bar is actually enabled i.e. you can use the scroll bar to scroll the control, not just visible (I know we can check visibility by GetWindowLong)

Apr 11, 2011I have a listbox where each line contains a short 3-4 character model number followed by a tab and then the product name the model number corresponds to. I also have a textbox which I am using to search the listbox.
The code I am using so far works somewhat, just not exactly how I would like. If I enter search text it will highlight the results in the listbox but only for the first characters, is there anyway to search the text of an entire line (index) of a listbox?
Right now I am using the following:

Inserting Value Every So Often In Textbox?
Oct 4, 2009Im prting a values to my Database which will later be pulled to make HTML Reports. So Im needing to insert "<br>" Every 50 characters so the values isnt displayed as one big long string.I do have it to do it at the first 50 chars. But since Im writing it to a Database My code looks like so:
cmd.Parameters.Add(New OleDbParameter("@Notes", txtcustnotes.Text.Insert(50, "<br>")))
And it works for the first 50, but not for the next 50. Any tips to make it do every 50 chars and still write properly to the DB?

Mar 21, 2012i am trying to read from a text file and enter this into a table.The text file contains just 3 didget numbers sepearted by a line to distingues a new number. The table consists of 2 columns called ID (which is auto increment PK) and ISBN. The table is called IntTable in a database called book.mdf. Feb 11, 2010My aim is to insert commands in to a console such as command prompt (except it isn't command prompt its actually a console engine for a game) and the commands will have shortcut buttons aswell which I can do my self, not a problem. It's inserting the text, but it's inserting it at every line of text in the file. So instead of one instance of "zrandomtextz" underneath "xinserttextx" I get "zrandomtextz" before every single line in the file. Can someone please help me as this has been an issue for months now? Edit: There are quite a few lines above this one, as in 50-150, so I removed all of the above section, however I can assure you that whenever it is simply replacing then writing to file it works flawlessly, it's only now that I'm having problems and this is when I try to insert new stuff under stuff.

Aug 10, 2010I have a RTB that I am generating during runtime. The users who will be using this app, need to be able to select unique IDs from a ComboBox and when they are selected, their value gets added to the RTB. Its ID is directly related to the their index in the combobox.

The problem, is that since the RTB is created during runtime, I won't know its created name. At anytime, there could be 10 RTBs inside of its own tab within a TabControls.So, anyone know how I can access the RTB without knowing its name?
