VS 2008 : Inserting And Entering Text In A Different Process?
Feb 11, 2010
My aim is to insert commands in to a console such as command prompt (except it isn't command prompt its actually a console engine for a game) and the commands will have shortcut buttons aswell which I can do my self, not a problem. My actual problem how ever is that I dont know how my vb form would recognise the process it needs to type in and how it would even find the text box to auto type the pre configured commands which I would have configured inside my form.
I want to make it so I have a form and a button and a web browser. The web browser will automatically load to a website that has boxes to fill in. In google chrome when i right click on the text box i can find the element or whatever its called. I am just wondering how I can make it so when I press the button it will change the text of the textbox on the website to whatever I want. Also how to make it press a button on a web browser as well.
I have a data-bound combobox that pulls values from a BindingList(of T). Combobox loads fine, correct values are displayed (I'm not using SelectedItem or SelectedValue). I'm using properties and connecting the data to the control via a bindingsource.
What I want is if the user types text into the combobox, I want the data from the bound table to change to that new text, i.e. edit the bound data directly.
Easy as pie to do with a textbox, but can't seem to get a combobox to work this way.
I was trying to use the validated event of the combobox to write the data to the datasource, but it doesn't fire when I press enter. Is that the way to do it? Can I not link the data to the combobox directly?
On the main form of my application, I have a Rich Text Box which is where the user will be entering information. The text is black. then, i have a button which calls the dialogue "Notes" A dialogue appears, with a rich text box. the user should then be able to enter text into the box, click "OK", and the text entered into the Notes dialogue be inserted to the rich text box on the main form -- with the font colour "Red". The rest of the text in the main rich text box on the main form should remain black.
far it works! But it work's too well. What I'm trying to do is insert a string of text at a certain index position of a text file, underneath a certain line of text. So far I have:
'Controls Var 16 If CheckBox1.Checked = True Then If Mytempstring.Contains("zrandomtextz=0") = True Then Mytempstring = Mytempstring.Replace("zrandomtextz=0", "zrandomtextz=1") ElseIf Mytempstring.Contains("zrandomtextz=") = False Then
[Code]...
It's inserting the text, but it's inserting it at every line of text in the file. So instead of one instance of "zrandomtextz" underneath "xinserttextx" I get "zrandomtextz" before every single line in the file. Can someone please help me as this has been an issue for months now? Edit: There are quite a few lines above this one, as in 50-150, so I removed all of the above section, however I can assure you that whenever it is simply replacing then writing to file it works flawlessly, it's only now that I'm having problems and this is when I try to insert new stuff under stuff.
I have a RTB that I am generating during runtime. The users who will be using this app, need to be able to select unique IDs from a ComboBox and when they are selected, their value gets added to the RTB. Its ID is directly related to the their index in the combobox.
[Code]...
The problem, is that since the RTB is created during runtime, I won't know its created name. At anytime, there could be 10 RTBs inside of its own tab within a TabControls. So, anyone know how I can access the RTB without knowing its name?
I am having a problem with a entering sections of text into the same textbox without the other section of text disapearing. In other words, I have several buttons with strings attached to them. When the user presses one of the buttons the string does enter into the textbox. However, when the users presses another button the string from the first button disapears while the second string enters the textbox.
if a message received at once is bigger then 1 line then it just puts them together in a textbox.all lines end with > and start with a time like 00:00:00..how can i still make newlines so that instead of..[code]
In previous versions of VB, you could click on a label to gain the focus, and then type multiple of lines of text. In VB 2008, clicking on the control does not open up the control for editing. You can use the text property, but can only enter a continuous string of characters. How do you insert blank lines between paragraphs?
so this ones weird and i'm not having any success searching cause i'm retarted and not sure how to word it. I've attached a sample program very basic all you do is enter the text in the box and click display text and the message box opens up, no problems there, however what i want to happen is, i just want to enter the text and press enter and the message will display without actually having to click "display text".
I'm experimenting with a program 'proj' which has some buttons on it as well as a textbox and a submit button. I want to automate all mousemovements/clicks and entering/submitting text. First I do some mousemovements and clicks in the program (proj) which works fine Then I need to fill in some text in the textbox.. therefor I tried using Quote:
I have the HTML (I think its javascript) code below that is from the webapge.
I want to pass something from my textarea on my form, to the text area on the webpage, and then pres the submit button the webpage.
I cant seem to find a control that locates the textarea or button..
Here is html:
<textarea id="c4ca7d536c32ca4b6ea674_input" class="UIComposer_TextArea DOMControl_placeholder" name="status" onfocus="CSS.addClass("c4ca7d536c32ca4b6ea674", "UIComposer_STATE_INPUT_FOCUSED"CSS.removeClass("c4ca7d536c32ca4b6ea674", "hide_buttons"window.UIComposer && UIComposer.focusInstance("c4ca7d536c32ca4b6ea674"" title="What's on your mind?" placeholder="What's on your mind?">What's on your mind?
If you enter "net users" in the command prompt all the local users on the pc appear. I want a textbox in my app, that if a user types in "kyle", and click the button, the first code I gave starts, and after "net users" the text in the textbox is there as well, so it will look like this:
I have a windows application written in VB.Net 2008, framework 3.5. This app is running on 2 remote desktop servers. I have one user who receives error, This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. when entering in a text box. When he uses the application on Server 1 he does not receive the error. It only happens to this 1 user on one server.
i would like to enter data from a textbox called textbox1.text into my access database called Stocks.mdb. Browsing the internet, i have gotten close but still cant get it to insert the correct data. Currently my code is:
I'm entering 123 into a field and getting 231.It's because I'm formating the text as I change it.
Private Sub txtObject_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles txtObject.TextChanged txtObject.Text = Format(Val(txtObject.Text), Zformat) End Sub zformat is "0.0"
Initially the field is "0.0". If I highlight it and type "1" I get "1.0" the cursor is now in front of the "1",I then type "2" and get "21.0" and the cursor is in front of the "1",I then type "3" and get "231.0".
It is because the cursor is in the "wrong" position. Is there a simple way to fix this?
I am using a database (access) were i am not using a primary key field. I would like to prevent the user from entering records , if certain fields allready exsists.
I would like to check for 3 of the fields. When these 3 fields has been filled previously with the same data as the new data, i want to return a message.
I am looking at the fields txtWeeknumber.text & txtTopic.text & txtSubOutCome.text
How would i insert some text into a specific file?Like say i have a file named helloworld.txt it has Hello World as text inside it, how would i take some new data like "Bye World" and then remove the contence of helloworld.txt and replace it with "Bye World" ?
I have this test form where I'm testing the idea, but ran into a snag. Now the main idea is to load all the data from a dataset into the one column of the datagridview. This works perfectly as shown in the image. Now there is something that I want to happen, but just can't get it right. when on the DataGridViewComboBox Column I also want to be able to type in my own data if the one I want is not available in the combobox.
Also if there are 50 values in my combobox and 2 of them are: jacky, jacson When I type jac, I want the combobox to only give me the options starting with "jac"
Here is the code that I'm currently using: Dim dt As DataTable Dim dsNewDataset As New DataSet() Dim i = 0, intSetArray As Integer = 0 Public Function JT_PullDataWithCOLUMNS1(ByVal Cols As String, ByVal TableName As String) As DataTable [Code] .....
get data like the pitch and volume of the sound currently being "heard" through a microphone?
Do you know the little graph which the Windows 98/XP sound recorder used to show? It used to show the pitch and volume of the sound which was being recorded. Like I want to get the data from that.
Basically, I will start experimenting this stuff by showing the volume of the sound entering the microphone in a label. And maybe the pitch too.
Trying to create a button that when clicked will check to see if a certain process image is running and if that process is running give the process focus. If the process is not running then start the application.
Whats happening is I run the code below and get the following error "The system cannot find the file specified". I've read that with UseShellExecute set to false that you can't use WorkingDirectory.
Dim Password As String = "password" Dim SecureStringPassword As New System.Security.SecureString For Each c As Char In Password
Title pretty much says it all. Does anyone know a way to to prevent a computer from entering a low/non-processing mode while the program is running? I don't care about monitor modes, screen-savers, hard-drive spindown, etc (in fact, I'd prefer to leave those alone; I like it that it shuts the monitor off after a time period).Basically, I have an industrial program that needs to continually monitor a PCI card it uses for IO; and this activity alone isn't enough to convince Windows not to go into Sleep mode. We normally just shut the power-save features off, but we had an incident where a technician forgot, a customer's machine went to Sleep after the end of the shift, the pumps stopped recirculating, yadda-yadda big mess.
this program is going to take the username that is saved in a text file and is going to put it into a web text box, the problem i seem to be having is basically everything in the website. The username does not go into the text box and I can't get it to submit.
My Public Class mainForm Private Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" Alias "Sleep" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long)
