I'm experimenting with a program 'proj' which has some buttons on it as well as a textbox and a submit button. I want to automate all mousemovements/clicks and entering/submitting text. First I do some mousemovements and clicks in the program (proj) which works fine Then I need to fill in some text in the textbox.. therefor I tried using Quote:

im trying to automate entering information onto a printer web interface. I was sucessfully in creating a problem for one particular model printer but not another(differnet manufactor).

The site has other buttons that i need to click, so if i can figure this one hopefully i will be able to get the other ones.
I am new to vb 2008, but I know how to automate some html elements. The issuse that I running into is that I cannot get my webbrowser1 to auto-click the "Gmail" button at the top left of the page or the "Show me my account" button on the righthand side of the webpage. Any way of not worrying about this? Or do I need to replace the & symbol everywhere in the test first if used?

On the main form of my application, I have a Rich Text Box which is where the user will be entering information. The text is black. then, i have a button which calls the dialogue "Notes" A dialogue appears, with a rich text box. the user should then be able to enter text into the box, click "OK", and the text entered into the Notes dialogue be inserted to the rich text box on the main form -- with the font colour "Red". The rest of the text in the main rich text box on the main form should remain black.

I am having a problem with a entering sections of text into the same textbox without the other section of text disapearing. In other words, I have several buttons with strings attached to them. When the user presses one of the buttons the string does enter into the textbox. However, when the users presses another button the string from the first button disapears while the second string enters the textbox.
For example: The following code is what I have:

In VB 2008, clicking on the control does not open up the control for editing. You can use the text property, but can only enter a continuous string of characters. How do you insert blank lines between paragraphs?

I've attached a sample program very basic all you do is enter the text in the box and click display text and the message box opens up, no problems there, however what i want to happen is, i just want to enter the text and press enter and the message will display without actually having to click "display text".

I am trying to automate a process I do with a bank with vb.net. Basically I need to open a website and navigate through it (Automatically through the program obviously), enter a batch ID and enter a file path and name. For some reason when I get to the part where I need to enter the file name and path, it simply will not populate the text. I have attached a word document with screenshots and code. The only difference I can see, is that in the bank website's code the the input type for the file text is "FILE" rather than "TEXT" as it is for the batch id...
View 3 RepliesI have a data-bound combobox that pulls values from a BindingList(of T). Combobox loads fine, correct values are displayed (I'm not using SelectedItem or SelectedValue). I'm using properties and connecting the data to the control via a bindingsource.
What I want is if the user types text into the combobox, I want the data from the bound table to change to that new text, i.e. edit the bound data directly.
Easy as pie to do with a textbox, but can't seem to get a combobox to work this way.
I was trying to use the validated event of the combobox to write the data to the datasource, but it doesn't fire when I press enter. Is that the way to do it? Can I not link the data to the combobox directly?

Im using Visual Studio 2008 Ive created auto click programs through tutorials, Mouse Recorders, also through tutorials. But nothing is helping me with the project at hand. It has now been a month of going through basic VB.net tutorials, and more advanced ones, all with success.. but none telling me what I need for this project.
So here is the project.
When I open this program.. it will have two buttons.. Start.. and Stop. Both set with hotkeys(which I have figured out how to do). When the program starts, it will work, kind of like an auto clicker, but the clicks I need in different, set locations, and with a different time frame in between clicks. The whole program will loop until stopped(with the hotkey).

I process single- and double-clicks on a listbox in VB .Net 2005; I use single-click to just select a particular entry and double-click to select and open the entry. I want to discard any other type of click, especially triple-clicks.

I have a windows application written in VB.Net 2008, framework 3.5. This app is running on 2 remote desktop servers. I have one user who receives error, This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. when entering in a text box. When he uses the application on Server 1 he does not receive the error. It only happens to this 1 user on one server.
View 10 RepliesOk, so I have set my form as the parent of a 3rd party application.Appactivate works when the 3rd party application is not a child of my form.It would appear that if the application is not on the taskbar (A non taskbar application) appactivate does not work.
