Automate A Process - Open A Website And Navigate Through It - Enter File Name And Path - Not Populate The Text
Feb 2, 2009
I am trying to automate a process I do with a bank with vb.net. Basically I need to open a website and navigate through it (Automatically through the program obviously), enter a batch ID and enter a file path and name. For some reason when I get to the part where I need to enter the file name and path, it simply will not populate the text. I have attached a word document with screenshots and code. The only difference I can see, is that in the bank website's code the the input type for the file text is "FILE" rather than "TEXT" as it is for the batch id...
Suppose I have this Dim proc As Process proc = Process.Start("Notepad.exe", "C: est.txt") Now, if I want to use Notepad.exe to open another text file (ie. C:2ndTextFile.txt) without closing it, how am I going to do it?
I'm currently trying to teach myself VB. I'm trying to automate a web-browser to go to a certain website. I wish to place the script on my desktop. But I keep getting syntax error 800A03EA. Here's my code.
There is a website and it has excel file. Daily I login to it and open excel file update, save and close it and then logout. This I want automate using code.
Im building a little program to automate downloading of orders for work but having a few problems. One of the pages has 2 Radio buttons on it, One says "download all" and the other "Download orders for selected dates"Now the radio button i can select fine, It goes to the "download orders for selected dates" one nicely but im having trouble putting the dates in on its own.
The "to" date is ok as it will always be the sate you run the program on so have used the "today.date" string and it puts this in ok. But with the from field i need to be able to select this.
I am using a datetime picker box on my form and can get it to put in the date in the box on the website, But to do this i have to click on the datetimepicker and click on the date, It doesnt already select this.
I would like it so i select the date first and then click my Login button, It goes off to the website and fills in all the details and then the next popup i get is where to save the file.So is there a way for the date time picker to put the current selected date in automatically?
I am trying to automate login and navigation to a website using the WebBrowser control. I can successfully logon to the site using the wb control but after that I can't seem to get access to the newly loaded document's elements within the same routine. I check for ReadyState Complete and IsBusy but they don't seem to be working. There don't appear to be any frames being used at all so I can't figure out why this won't work. I know that the wb control is successfully logging in because I can see the page load in the wb control. However, after the page loads I try to access the HTMLDocument for the new page (after logging in) and it is either set to Nothing or it's the previous page's HTML. I've tried putting in a Sleep to wait for the page to finish before trying to access the HTMLDocument on the new page but it still doesn't work. If I create a button on my form that accesses the HTMLDocument and click it it works fine. I can't figure out how to ensure that the entire page has finished loading within my routine. I tried putting a switch into the DocumentCompleted event but that doesn't work either.
I am new to vb 2008, but I know how to automate some html elements. The issuse that I running into is that I cannot get my webbrowser1 to auto-click the "Gmail" button at the top left of the page or the "Show me my account" button on the righthand side of the webpage. Here is the webpage that I'm trying to auto click: url...Can someone please view the html source and give a code sample to click either button so that the page can then go on to the following page?
I am adding a web interface (ASPX.NET: VB) to a data acquisition system developed with LabVIEW which outputs raw data files. These raw data files are the binary representation of a LabVIEW cluster (essentially a structure).LabVIEW provides functions to instantiate a class or structure or call a method defined in a .NET DLL file.I plan to create a DLL file containing a structure definition and a class with methods to transfer the structure. When the webpage requests data, it would call a LabVIEW executable with a filename parameter. The LabVIEW code would instantiate the structure, populate the structure from the data file, then call the method to transfer the data back to the website.
How do you recommend I transfer (copy) an instance of a structure from one .NET program to the VB.NET program that executed it?
I have been attempting to automate a process in a webbrowser control. When I attempt to fill out the form and submit, I get a false negative response (meaning all the data in the fields are correct but I am getting an incorrect response back from what I should be getting). I have determined that this problem is due to the fact that when I manually type out the data in the input fields a javascript is being fired. I know that you are able to invoke the javascript, but as I have no real knowledge about javascript and the script is rather complex I am stuck.
A temporary solution for me has been to use SendKeys, but this is no real solution at all. If the window loses focus, the entire process goes out the window. I cannot just use the .SetAttribute or .InnerText methods for the elements in the window.
I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with WatiN but I have used it recently while looking for other means to do what I need to do here. Watin works, but instead of allowing me to use an embedded browser object it shells new browser windows. Anyhow, with WatiN I am able to minimize or hide the browser window and the code will still execute. This leads me to believe that there is a way to simulate keypress events in a browser window while making sure that the specific element is the active element.
I have searched all over the internet for this (but am sure I overlooked a few things in frustration) and have yet to find a solution that works for me.
I have a fairly simple piece of code for viewing files System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(tFileInfo.FullName
Basically passes the path of a file to the process and let Windows deal with how to open it. Have also tried Dim myProcess As New System.Diagnostics.Process
[Code]...
Works beautifully on my machine, but on three others i have tested it on, it opens PDF and TXT files no problem, but as soon as I attempt to open a Word file or an Excel file I get "There is not enough memory or disk space to open Word" and similar in Excel if the application is not already open. If the Office app is open, the code works perfectly. Has anyone come across this before?
Is there any software to automate the process of creating vb.net windows softwares or asp.net websites. As i am new i want it to be created automatically. Or can anyone create the project for me? I will give the details and upload the files (if Present). I got this thought when i asked the following question:
My boss has given me a task to create an asp.net website. The website should take some data through text fields, combobox, etc.. and then generate a report and graph. Before they used to store the information in an excel sheet and then generate a report and graph. He showed me the excel sheet and the reports and chart (in pdf). I don't know how to do it.
I have a data bound DataGridView. The final column of this is for the last change date to see how new the data is. I also have a hidden label on my form that has the current system time and date. I am wondering how do I take the date that is on the label and insert it into the column for the last change date on the datagridview when ever a new row is added. This way it automates the process of putting the exact time that row was added.
I'm making a web browser, and when the enter key is pressed in the address box, after I navigate to the URl, when a new URL is typed in, and the enter key is pressed, all that happens is it highlights the text, I tried to refresh the control, but it did not work. How do I fix this problem?
I am new to VB, and I am using Visual basic 2010 Express to make an application that will login and navigate a website for me. On a form, i made a button and a webbrowser, and this is the code i have so far:
Public Class Form1 Dim Automate As Boolean Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Automate = True
[Code]...
The last line of my code that nagivates to a new page after login... it executes before the login completes and the login fails. If i remove that line of code, the login works fine. So how do I navigate to further pages after the initial one, and make sure that it is fully loaded each time?
I have an app that I am trying to navigate to a website and then get the element by <br>.
I'm thinking that I can get the element by using this code.
Dim allelements As System.Windows.Forms.HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser1.Document.All For Each webpageelement As HtmlElement In allelements
[Code]....
My issue is how can I take all those elements and add them to a rich text box on my app?
There is also about 3 pages that I am needing to navigate to and download the content on, is there a way to add to the list until the loop is finished?
When form is loading i set webbrowser to navigate a website.
Now this website running too much popup ads.. So each time webbrowser navigate a new popup window open out of my application.. Is their any way to stop that..
We are currently changing our Antivirus program which involves uninstalling our current one first. That isn't a problem but we have several laptop users not in the building who might have a problem uninstalling programs.
It should be possible to write a script/program to automate the uninstall process I guess, but don't know where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I made a program in Visual Basic 6.0 and am trying to convert it to vb.net.so i am at the stage where the program needs to load the Access file and populate the listbox according to which radio button i chose.
I've been trying to write a vb program to help me login to a website! I've managed it with HtmlCollection, but the problem is that on the next page there are a few choices that need checking and it goes kind of crazy. Is there any way to login to the website, fill the choices and then navigate further?
Well im making a program that will Add the Safe File Name of the File opened in the Open File Dialog to the first column of the listview and the File name and path to the second. What i want it so when i double click on the Safe file name it will open the file specified in the path in the second column.i already got the add file to it.
Is there a better way of finding the path of a file that was opened with the open file dialogue? This is what I did. It works, but it seems like there should be a way to get the path through one of the open dialogue options.
Code: 'm_PicSource = OpenFileDialog1.FileName 'm_PicSource is a global var Dim strCnt As Integer = m_PicSource.Length - 1
How can i make this code execute the times that TextBox1.Text indicated? It should be some kind of loop. but i want it to repeat this every 100 milliseconds?
