Interface And Graphics :: Plot The Graph From The Serial Port?
Sep 20, 2011
I new in vb .net. Now doing the robot mapping project from the arduino serial port and VB 2010 as a GUI. The serial port can read the text from arduino sensor but how to plot the graph from all the sensor value? So when ultrasonic detect the distance will give the pixel or point. I using the picture box as a background grip map.
I'd like to be able to graphically represent a position in a 3D graph and be able to rotate the grid to match a certain perspective. I've looked for tutorials online, but they all mention how to import or create common file types. I don't want or need to do this. I just need to know where to begin. I have the DirectX SDK, but I'm not sure where to start with it and need some direction.
Picture 1 shows an application that I am currently writing that uses the LineShape and OvalShape out of the Visual Basic Power Packs. As I change the index in the part number combo box the A, B & C dimension change to suit the dimension in the text boxes.
Problem is the limited shapes are fine to draw a router template guide, but they are somewhat limited when it comes to drawing more complex shapes like the router bits that make the shapes in Picture 2. Is there a graphic class that would allow me to plot points and joint the dots like you get in kids colouring in books? Or something a little more adept to complex shapes like curves?
I just spotted something called the Pen Class that I might need to look more into, but not knowing the first thing about graphics. Spotted some advice passel gave in another thread to search vb.net gdi+ tutorial and it looks like the Pen Class might have potential, although I am going to have to revisit some math by the looks of things.
I have the following array, (y axis) and wish display a curve. I am trying to find a way to code this so that can run it under Windows (PC) and under Windows mobile. The x axis increments 5 pixels with every point in my array.
I'm doing a project and want to do a graphical interface using V. Studio 2010. I want to use VB.NET as a programming language. - Do I have to add any software to define VB.net? - What is the function that reads the data from the serial port? - If I want to receive more than one type of data, and I want to put/read them in separate text boxes, what is the function to filter the incoming data?
points on picture box by several mouse down operation, perform either linear regression for best fit straight line for these points or best fit circular curve fitting for these points.User can use radio button to select either straight line or circular curve fitting. Plot the best fit graphic accordingly and save these graphic to a data file (result.txt).
i am a newbie to visual basic 2005. i have a excel file contain x value and y value of points.i wan to plot a graph using these few points.after that display the graph in the vb.How can i do that??
ive been struggling on this portion of my code for almost 3 days with no luck. i have a database containing a list of transactions (in this case, the product name, quantity and date of sale). I want to plot a graph for each product showing the amount sold each month for the past 12 months. The functions to calculate these values are working fine. but my problem is this:
I need to be able to take an MP3 or WAV file and plot a graph of its waveform over time. Prefferably without playing it first. The representation doesn't have to be amazingly accurate as it's not for EQ purposes. I just need to pinpoint certain points in the MP3 / WAV when specific music / sounds etc occur (similar to the display in Windows Sound Recorder).
how I can go about that, or if it's even possible in VB 2005?
I'm currently trying to use ZedGraph to plot a graph based on some data I have extracted from a machine, with reference to a user entered "Frequency" range. I has to be a line graph, with Frequency on the X-axis, and extracted data on the Y-axis. There are 4 channels for the machine, but all data values extracted are close to each other, so multiple Y-axes are not needed. I'm also trying to do it within a class, and the graph should only be drawn when I click "Button3", otherwise there would be no data anyway and button2 extracts the data.
Below are my class (the graph code is at the bottom) and form1, which button3 should call the class, but I'm stuck for both the button interfacing and the class writing. I have also attached the output I get so you can have a look at what I need. Open it in Excel to see the format. The whole program is also attached as a text file if you prefer it that way.
i am a absolute beginner and i want to use vb to receive data from micro controller through serial port using rs232 standards, i found this code to receive the data serially, can any one tell me where should i paste this code, so that the data received will be displayed in message box.Private Sub DataReceived(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.IO.Ports.SerialDataReceivedEventArgs) HandlesSerialPort1.DataReceived
The link below has code to connect to a modem thru the serial port but it is for an earlier version of VB. when I convert the code, it does not fully convert and has 4 errors that prevent building the project. can someone tell me what needs to be changed or added?
my application receive data from serial port and store it in ConcurrentQuequeFor not lost any data from serial port I need to plot it in a separate theadin SummaryForm Load = set all parameter of ZedGraphPulsante Start = Open serial Port and start Thead
I'm just trying to create a graph where the user can input data into textboxes and then plot the data. I am attempting to use Zedgraph, but open to other suggestions. The program below creates a plot, but it won't update when the textboxes are updated.
Imports ZedGraph Public Class Form1 Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
I have a stand alone VB.Net 2005 application that uses a serial port that generally stays open while the application runs on a Windows XP system. In trying to bullet-proof the UI, I ran into a problem when the USB to Serial Converter normally used to provide the serial port is disconnected while the serial port is open. In trying to handle the resulting error when accessing the port, I find I cannot close the port.
When trying to do so, the error message says something like "unable to close the port. You may not have sufficient permissions." Reconnecting the USB/Serial Converter does not reactivate the port.
I have a Windows form.in windows form have a combo box that give me a list of available port serial with it code (Dim ports As String() =SerialPort.GetPortNames())for example( Com1,Com8,Com15,...).but I want to give me fullname of serial port in device manager for example in dvice manager is these (Comunication Port(COM1) - Printer Port(LPT1) And USB Serial Port(COM8)).how to Get it?
If I uninstall the COM1 and reboot, it works. If I shut down (power off) and restart, I get the message below. If I uninstall then click on Scan for Hardware Changes,The given port name does not start with COM/com or does not resolve to a valid serial port. Parameter name:portName
Im working on a project that needs to print a report of one client.Everything went smooth untill i came across my multiline input text data. When i display it in the PrintPagePreview the text go's outside my page. Even when im printing it only the halve of my text is displayed. I googled and looked everywhere but i can't get a clear fix for it.
I used to program with Visual Basic 6, so I have alot of old programs that I'm updating, plus I'm learning the new VB2008 methods. I'm writing a program that replaces the old "BitBlit" function which is no longer supported by Visual Basic 2008. It involves three picture boxes, one holds the sprite bitmap, a second holds the mask (silhouette) of the sprite bitmap, and a third has a background image.
drawing text on a window which is not the current form's window.I remember doing this in Win32 api with getwindowdc(handle) to obtain a DC for the Window, then textout() on the DC.
I'm working on a design project where I have to use a Graphical User Interface that contains a drag and drop form. It consists of having a window dropped on a wall. Both of them are images to scale. I would like to know what kind of code I would have to use to show the x and y coordinates of one of the points of my window when dragged so when I drop it, I'm dropping in it on the desired coordinate of the wall.
Ok, I want to create a class that will handle a special rectangle graphic. In my form, I want to have two of these special rectangles. So, basically, I need two instances of that class in my form, right?I manage to initialize two, alright. But, how exactly am I supposed tomanage drawing/graphics etc in a class, and the results to be displayed in my form?
